6 Months Old

Cason you are 6 months old today! You are still wearing size 3-6 month and 6 month clothes and are still in a size 3 diaper. You can sit all by yourself and love to play with your toys. You are also a great roller and scooter and I feel you will be crawling soon. You are inquisitive just like your big sister and already see something and go and get it. You put everything in your mouth. You have two teeth (bottom front) and I feel the top ones will be here soon because you are a little drool machine again.

You still are not sleeping through the night, however I feel you will soon. You are a very good baby and unless hungry or tired never really fuss. You are eating your baby food really well and love it all. I feel like you weigh between 17 and 18 pounds. You are a big boy and a great eater!

You are such a happy little guy and love to smile and laugh. You adore your big sister and absolutely love watching her. You have started to mimic sounds and words and can "say" dada and iee (hi). You of course do not know what you are "saying." Your little smile melts my heart every single time. We love you very much Cason, happy half a year!

Funny Story

Last night while I was cleaning up the kitchen after dinner I noticed Emory walking around with her nose in a book. She was making the "circle" living room, foyer, dining room, and kitchen. On her third or fourth trip around I realized what she was doing. She was playing Belle, from Beauty and the Beast. We had watched Beauty and the Beast that morning and I guess she decided to reenact the part where Belle walks through the village singing and reading her book. So funny! We never know what she will think up next!

Cason & Emory

I wanted this post to be about the little things that Emory and Cason are doing right now because I am afraid I won't remember them next year or week for that matter.

Emory Grace is at an age where life is either wonderful or terrible and there is hardly an in between. She pitches fits when she does not get her way and is oh so dramatic one minute and then the sweetest funniest little thing the next. She has really taken an interest in helping me with laundry, cleaning, or cooking. She calls it "work" and tells me "lets go work." She is really a good helper. She has also started calling me the oh so dreaded three letter word.... mom. To me mom just solidifies that she is a big girl now, which makes me a little sad. She loves to color, play with her "cooker" (aka her little kitchen), put together her puzzles, and play make believe with her baby dolls. She puts on her bracelets, earrings, necklaces, high heel shoes, and takes her babies to the park, doctor, or store.  One night this week she was saying her prayers and told God that she wanted to go to school and learn her ABC's. She learned that January 15 is her birthday last week and has already requested a horsee cake for her birthday, but wants to be 4 instead of 3. She loves her brother and is very caring and sweet towards Cason. She is always making sure he has a toy to play with and loves making him laugh. Her favorite color is still purple and her new "obsession" is chicken trucks. She is always wanting to find a chicken truck and gets upset when she does not see one. For those of you thinking... chicken trucks? That would be the trucks that haul chickens to the poultry plants. She is such a mess! We love you Emory!

This face says it all. She was wanting to throw this ball and I had told her no.
She then acted like she was going to throw it anyway, so I told her if she threw
it she would go to time out. So here she is deciding if throwing
the ball was worth a visit to timeout.

This is her telling me no cheese. She is NOT into taking pictures
these days.

She is also not wanting to take a nap anymore. She ran and hid from
me this afternoon.

Cason Bradley has exited the newborn stage and is on his way to the "independent" baby stage. He is sitting by himself now, however I am still putting a pillow behind him just in case. He is also a good scooter and roller and can get around really well. In the last few weeks he has learned to hold his bottle and is an expert at finding stuff and putting it in his mouth. He is always smiling and his big sister is a pro at making him laugh. He slept in his bedroom for the first time last night, however woke up around 1:30 am and after a snack slept in our room in his pack-n-play. We learned this week that he is allergic to bananas, but thankfully it is a mild allergy that he will likely out grow. Other than bananas, which he liked they just did not like him, we have not found a food he will not eat. He is a good eater! He is also quite the talker and talks to us and his toys constantly. He is such a joy and we love him dearly!

He is always smiling!

Look whose sitting!

Check out my two new teeth!

Two Going on Thirteen

These days Emory is acting more and more like a teenager then the little girl she is suppose to be.  She is very sassy and stubborn and here lately has been throwing around phrases like "leave me alone" and "no way." She as also started to negotiate with us, especially at bed time. But then there are those days when she wants to be a baby like Cason again. Saturday morning was one of those times. She wanted to eat her breakfast in the highchair and wear a bib.

Today Emory and I were watching Say Yes to the Dress and Emory informed me that she was getting married and wanted to put on her wedding dress. This is the dress she picked out as her wedding dress and these shoes were her wedding shoes. The pants were part of her pj's but she wanted to wear those too.

And this little guy is growing up too fast as well. I can't believe he will be 6 months old on the 28th. He has had a rough weekend with a runny nose, coughing, sneezing, and two pesky teeth giving him fits. Hopefully he will start to feel better soon!

And Then There Were Two

It's official, Cason now has a pair of bottom teeth! Yesterday was a rough day for Cason and last night was rough for us all, except Emory who was sound asleep in her bed. I think the worse is over now as both teeth have broken through the skin. Hopefully he, well we, can get a good nights rest tonight.

Cason's Big News

Cason is very excited to report that his first tooth (bottom left) is here!! I noticed it tonight while giving him a bath. Just one corner of the tooth is peeking through but FINALLY some progress. I thought something might be happening because this past weekend was an abundance of drool and spit up, even more so than the past 2 months have been! Hopefully it will come in quickly and not hurt too bad.

Trip To Grandma & Pawpaw's

I took Friday off and Emory, Cason, and I headed to my parents for a short visit. When we got there Grandma had a new purple ballerina tutu for Emory and she of course had to put it on. She danced and danced in her new tutu and this was the best picture I could get as she was NOT in the mood to take a picture.

All that dancing wore her out and she decided to take a nap in between a chair and desk in my parent's bedroom.

That afternoon we took the kids swimming. This pool is heated so Cason had a blast because it was just like taking a bath, which he loves. He kicked his legs, people watched, and laughed. Emory had fun too. She rode the tube in the lazy river, jumped off the side, and enjoyed watching the big kids jump off the diving board.

The next day we went shopping and Emory scored some play food and dishes. Cason had fun chewing on one of her new frying pans. He chews on everything these days.

I love this little smile!

Chewing on his horsee!

Emory drinking out of a "big girl" cup wearing her Aunt Cameron's bib that is 27 years old! Old or not it kept the spaghetti off her clothes!

She said it was tasty! Everything is tasty these days. Her other favorite phrase is "in two minutes" whenever I ask her to do something she tells me "in two minutes."

Cason had peas for dinner.

This was this morning just before we left to come home. He was all dressed and ready to go.

Emory being silly and not wanting to get her hair fixed.

We had a fun time at Grandma and Pawpaw's house. This was Cason's first time there and he enjoyed spending time with his grandparents. Emory all ready wants to go back!!! She loves to be on the go.....always has!!!!

This evening Emory wanted to feed Cason his dinner, but after some persuasion settled on feeding her baby. Of course her baby had to eat in the high chair and wear a bib.

Here is Cason all full and wearing sweet potatoes under his eye and all over his clothes. He thinks he can feed himself and tries to grab the spoon while eating. So this evening I gave it to him after he finished eating and into the mouth it went!
