8 Months Old

Cason Bradley you are 8 months old today!

You weigh around 20 pounds and are wearing size 6-9 and 9 months. You are a tall little boy and have the chubbiest little legs. You are still in a size 3 diaper but I think we will be buying 4’s soon. In the last week you have started to sleep through the night more nights then not, which I am so thankful for. You have 6 teeth (top 4 and bottom 2) and I feel like more are on the way because you are a little drool machine again.

You are a happy little boy with the sweetest smile. You get tickled so easily and just laugh and laugh. Your big sister can really get you going.
You are little chatter box and can say mamama and dada. You are so funny when you get to talking because your little voice changes depending on your mood. We definitely know when you are being serious or silly. You also love to sing.

You eat baby food three times a day and LOVE puffs and melts. You are a great eater and will eat anything but definitely prefer some foods over others. Your favorites are sweet corn with rice, turkey and veggies, blueberry pear, and oatmeal with apples and cinnamon.

You are everywhere these days and have ventured into just about every room in the house. You are still army crawling, which is fine by me because you are quick enough as it is. You got up on all fours yesterday and rocked back and forth several times, so I feel like you will take off on all fours soon! You can pull yourself up to your knees and stood up for the first time yesterday for a second before falling.
You love taking a bath!

Happy Birthday Grandma

Happy Birthday Grandma and thank you for all you do!
I made pretty signs on the computer but our printer is having technical difficulties today.
I just had to include the bottom picture too!

Ice Skating

Friday we took the kids to an “ice skating” rink that was set up as part of the downtown Christmas lighting festivities in my parent’s town. The rink was not real ice but skated like real ice. Emory had a great time and towards the end wanted to skate all by herself. Her fearlessness is starting to worry me just a little. Ha! After a while Emory told us she was ready to go because skating was slippery. After the ice skating we rode in a horse drawn carriage around the downtown area. Emory and Cason both seemed to enjoy the ride. Today figure skating was on TV and Emory got excited and told me that she did that yesterday.
Away she went, no hesitation, no worry, just a big smile!

She wanted to do it ALL by herself!

Thanksgiving 2011

Wednesday we headed to southern Arkansas to my parents house for Thanksgiving. This year was Noah's year to be at his dads for Thanksgiving so it was just my kiddos there soaking up all the attention from Grandma, Pawpaw, and Aunt Shirley. Needless to say they have had a blast. We had a nice dinner and then just hung out and visited. I did manage to get a better picture of Emory and Cason. My trick was to sit in front of the TV, this way Emory is at least still and looking at me.

As you can see Cason is always on the move.

Emory would NOT smile at me no matter what I did, so.......

I asked her to show me her teeth and this is what I got. Not exactly what I had in mind!!

Cha Cha Cha

Wednesday evening Emory discovered the tambourine and maracas at grandma's house and started singing cha cha cha while dancing and playing. She put on quite a show!

 Cason joined in too!
All the playing, singing, and dancing finally wore her out.

Sick Days

An ugly bacterial infection has been raining havoc on the Cobb household. Last Monday Cason came down with it and missed two days at Ms. Betty's and then last night Emory woke up crying at 10:30 with fever and a sore throat. It was a rough night for Emory, but thankfully Cason slept through it all. So this morning I made another trip to the doctor and now Emory is on an antibiotic. I did find out their current weight. Cason weighs 19 lbs 11 ounces and Emory 26 lbs 8 ounces. I have a feeling that Cason will pass his sister in the weight department soon! Cason is now back to his happy go lucky self (his top four teeth are all in too) and hopefully Emory will be feeling better soon.

My two sick sleeping babies. I should say baby and big girl. Emory would have a cow if I referred to her as a baby.

Thanksgiving

Saturday we had Thanksgiving at Bradley’s parent’s house. This year it was just us, his parents, and Rachel and Andrew. We had a good time visiting with each other. Emory enjoyed playing with Mckenzie and Cason had fun serenading everyone with a song during lunch. He is so vocal these days. He has even said dada and mmmama a few times this weekend. Wednesday we are headed to my parent’s house for Thanksgiving with my family.

Discoveries

Sunday evening Cason was crawling around and discovered the windows in the french doors. He looked so little sitting in front of the doors that I had to get out the camera and take a picture. Once he discovered the camera his attention quickly turned towards the camera strap and he soon headed over to me to investigate and of course put it in his mouth. I think the strap reminded him of a cord. Cason LOVES cords and has found every single lamp cord in the living room and his bedroom.

He is missing his pants in these pictures because he spit up all over them just before he discovered the doors. He is cutting his four top teeth all at the same time and between the spit-up, drool, and fever he has not felt well. Poor baby. For those that are counting that makes 6 teeth.

Two of a kind

Yesterday Emory and Cason played together for the first time. Usually they play side by side or Emory will bring Cason a toy, talk to him for a second, and then go back to doing her own thing. However, yesterday they both played with the cube together for quite some time. Emory was "learning him how to do it," translation, teaching Cason how to play with the cube.  Then Emory decided they needed to jump rope, which consisted of Cason holding and chewing on one end of the rope while Emory jumped up and down with the other. Great times!

This face cracks me up!

Later while I was feeding Cason a scrumptious lunch of sweet corn and rice (his favorite), I noticed Emory was suspiciously quiet in her room. After she came and got her stool out of the pantry I knew something was up. When I asked her if she was okay, she told me "I fine." When I asked what she was doing she told me "just playing." Hmm... So after Cason finished we headed into her room to investigate and found this:

Emory had drug out ALL of her Playdough and was playing with the yellow on her dresser, YIKES!
