Christmas Tree Farm

Despite the cold and mist we headed to the Christmas tree farm yesterday to find our tree! This year we went to the farm in Mt. Enterprise because it was closer to the house and the weather wasn't the greatest.
After a tractor ride around the farm the hunt was on to find the perfect tree!
Cason measuring a tree! This tree didn't make the cut.
 Our Christmas tree 2015!
Emory being silly and surfing while Bradley cut down the tree!
While they were shaking our tree to get all the loose needles out, this squirrel fell out too! Cason thought it was the funnies thing he had ever saw. He got a good laugh!!
 Emory waving from the caboose!
 All Aboard!
 Emory driving the train!
The staff at the farm take your picture for their facebook page, but ours turned out pretty blurry.
And after many hours and one tired Momma.....the finished tree!
We also managed to get the other three small trees up as well!
The kids both did a great job hanging the ornaments and our house is officially ready for Christmas minus the outside lights. It has to stop raining first!

First Thanksgiving

Last Thursday Emory's class celebrated the first Thanksgiving. They had been learning about the Pilgrims and Indians and spent the day doing activities that they had learned about. They got to choose between dressing as an Indian or Pilgrim, as you can see the Pilgrims were outnumbered!
Emory went as Pocahontas, her favorite Disney Princess.
One of her classmates Dad came and showed them how to shoot a bow and arrow.
Emory was able to hit the Turkey. She was very proud of herself!
They also played games that Pilgrim kids played and had a wonderful Thanksgiving feast!

Emory's School Work & 2nd Quarter Progress Report

A few of Emory's worksheets from the past two months!
Emory brought home her 2nd quarter progress report last week. She continues to enjoy school!

Cason's School Work

A few of Cason's worksheets from October and November.
Cason's teacher has a son in first grade named Jesse and he and Cason have become good friends. Jesse colored this picture for Cason because he knows how he loves green tractors!
A few weeks ago Cason insisted on making everyone in his class and Jesse a paper airplane. Mrs. V sent home a thank you card and said that everyone enjoyed playing with them.
Cason has learned to draw flowers!
He is also all about A B patterns these days!
He is getting much better at coloring within the lines.
He is also into writing the date after his name!!
This is from several weeks ago, but I loved how he needed to put a line in between his first and last name. He also had to include his age!

Charlotte's Web Day

Last Friday Emory's class had Charlotte's Web Day.
Emory's first grade class all dressed up!
A web dessert, Emory said the icing was delicious!
 Farmer Emory!
The kids watched the movie and compared it to the book!
A few of their treats! The kids each had a "feed trough" that they ate their goodies from.
Emory had a great time celebrating Charlotte's Web!!
I loved that her teacher texted all the parents pictures throughout the day!
