14 Months Old

Cason you are 14 months old today!
You are wearing size 12- 18 months clothes and a size 4 shoe. You will be moving into a size 5 diaper as soon as we finish the package of fours.
You can say, hi, bye bye, mama, dada, here, thank you, ba (cup), mine (sort of), mmm, that, ball and uh oh. You have really started to understand what we are saying. When I ask you questions you answer them in your own way, like running to your high chair when I ask you if you want to eat. You are a smart little cookie!
You have 12 teeth and love brushing them. You also love to take a bath, go bye bye, and give kisses and hugs. You are the sweetest little boy and are always smiling. You love playing with your golf clubs and are pretty good at hitting the ball. You can also throw a ball very well. We are still not sure if you are going to be right or left handed because you use both all the time. You still adore Emory and love playing with her. I am so thankful to have you as my son. We love you very very much Cason!

Working In The Garden

When I was a little girl I would help my grandparents in their garden. I think my favorite thing was to dig and eat potatoes. I still love new potatoes fresh from the garden. This morning Emory helped Mimi dig potatoes. She loves dirt, always has, so this was right up her ally. She told me she did a good job when she got back.
A few of Emory's finds.
Digging away!
This picture made me laugh. She was hard at work!!
Working in the garden is hard work.
After she dug up all the potatoes she picked green beans.
She also picked a few cherry tomatoes. She had a good time working in the garden!

Trip To Grandma & Paw Paw's House

Friday morning Cason, Emory and I headed to Arkansas to visit my parents. That afternoon mom and I took the kids to the pool. I have a little fish on my hands named Cason Bradley. He kicked, he splashed, he even put his head under water all by himself. He loved swimming. Emory enjoyed herself as well, but she is more cautious when it comes to swimming.  She did eventually "swim" by herself. After swimming and dinner the kids were exhausted and went to bed early.  I did not get one picture from Friday. Then Saturday we got up and dressed and headed over to Monroe to do some shopping. I did manage to take a few pictures Saturday morning before we headed out.
My sweet Cason!
Emory playing her "corder" and marching in the band.
My failed attempt at taking their picture sitting on the stairs!
She actually gave me a smile when I asked for one!
Cason was so funny. He would run to the stairs sit down and then get up and run full speed and jump in my arms. Then repeat!  Here he is on his way to my arms! Too cute!
One of our stops was to pick up Emory's flower girl dress for my sister's wedding next month. She was so funny at the store or "fancy dress store" as she called it. She twirled and danced around in her little dress. She calls it her wedding dress because it is the dress she is wearing to Aunt Cameron's wedding, therefore it is a wedding dress. Don't call it a flower girl dress, BIG mistake!
While we were gone Bradley was busy putting Emory's new swing set together. She calls swing sets parks and was very excited to see her new park when we got home. Thank you Daddy and Pepaw!! We had a short but great visit with Grandma and Paw Paw!!!

Saturday Afternoon Fun

This afternoon while Emory napped (Cason refused) Cason and I played in his room. He has started to show an interest in puzzles. He does not quite grasp the concept just yet, but enjoys stacking and banging the pieces together.
This face cracked me up! It makes me wonder what he was thinking.
After puzzles he decided to ride his cow. Then while I ran to get a Kleenex (I have a cold or something) he decided to take every single book out of his bookcase.
After Emory woke up from her nap Bradley took the kids outside to play in the pools. We borrowed Mimi's little pool so they would each have one to play in. We definitely need to get a larger pool this year! Cason had a blast playing in the pool.
Here they are throwing water on each other.
Emory Grace getting ready to slide!
Cason "sliding" down backwards!
Cason about to get Emory with his bucket full of water!

Earthquake

Having lived in East Texas my entire life earthquakes are not something we talk much about. Hurricane's yes earthquake's never. That was until last Thursday when a 3.7 earthquake hit a small town about 15 miles from our house. We were at work when it hit but my MIL who lives near us was home and felt it. It was a small quake and thankfully there was no damage. We really did not think much about it as there is a fault that runs through East Texas that has been inactive for years.  Then this morning a little after 3:00 I got to experience my very first and hopefully last earthquake. I woke up to a low rumble sound, the house shaking and window's rattling. It took me a second to register what was going on. Thankfully the kids did not wake up and it did not last long. We later learned that it was a 4.3 on the Richter scale and occurred in the same exact spot as last week. Unfortunately there were some homes with damage this time, but luckily no one was hurt. We found a small crack in our bathroom this morning but it can be easily fixed. Thank goodness that was all that happened!

First French Braid

This morning I French braided Emory's hair for the first time. The first one was not the straightest or tightest so after I took her picture I redid it. My second attempt was much much better but I did not get a picture of it.
She really looked like a little girl with her hair braided.

Cason's First Trip To The Dentist

Cason had his first dental appointment this morning and did fabulous! He just laid back and let Dr. Criss do her thing. There was no wiggling, no crying, and no fighting. I was so proud of him!!
Check out my pearly whites!
This evening while I had my camera out Cason decided to show off a new trick!
Ta-Da!

Little Mommy

Tonight Emory was playing mommy with her baby doll and she was so funny. She insisted on taking a picture of her baby because she was "SO CUTE." I guess I have rubbed off on her when it comes to taking pictures.
Then after dinner she told us that her baby was sick and she needed to hold her. We heard her in the living room consoling her baby. She was patting her back and telling her "it's okay, it's okay." So sweet!

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day started off with a certain little girl jumping into bed with me at 6:30 this morning. Then it was church, Sunday school, and lunch.
Later the kids gave me my Mother's Day presents. I got a beautiful bookmark and pot holder from Emory and Cason that they made at Ms. Betty's and Bradley got me a new cookbook.
We had a rough afternoon with more tears than smiles. Emory did not take a nap other then the 10 minutes she slept on the way home and Cason took a short nap but still seemed tired. I think he is still worn out from yesterday.
This is what my living room looked like this afternoon, and this is nothing compared to their bedrooms. It is a never ending battle keeping things picked up and somewhat neat (Cason is a pro at dragging things out of his room), but I would not trade it for anything because these smiles make it all worth it, even if they are fake Emory Grace!
  Emory and Cason ~
I love you very very much and am so very thankful to be your mommy.

5th Anniversary & Family Barbecue

Today is our 5th wedding anniversary and Bradley surprised me with an anniversary band! It looks just like my wedding band and I love it. It does not seem like it has been five years but then when I look back on all the changes we have made in that time…..baby girl, built a house, baby boy……it seems like it should be longer. Ha!  We have done a lot in 5 years! Thank you for the ring Bradley, I love it and you!
This morning we headed to my grandmother’s for a family barbecue. My aunt was in from California and the kids had not seem her in a year.
The kids waiting on Grandma and Paw Paw who had just pulled up in the driveway.
Emory being Emory.
This is what I got when I asked her to smile.
My sweet Cason.
Aunt Linda and Emory!
Emory's eyes were closed but this is the best I could do! She was everywhere today and had a blast! She also wore these necklaces all day!
This picture cracks me up! This was just after lunch and Cason's belly was full and he was sleepy and ready for a nap.
Noah giving me the thumbs up!
Emory picked me these flowers! She loves to pick flowers.
Emory giving me kisses!
Cason being silly!
My grandfather had Parkinson's before he passed away and needed a lift chair to help him get up and down safely. My grandmother still has the chair and the great grand kids love playing in it. Noah had it "cranked" all the way up today!

Emory played so hard she fell asleep literally within two minutes of leaving this evening. Cason had a blast too! I ate way too much and completely blew my diet. Those chocolate chip cookies just had to call my name.... I blame them and the deviled eggs!
We had a great time visiting with everyone today!
