Born to Shop

This weekend Emory and I loaded up and headed to Arkansas to see Grandma and Pawpaw's new house and to visit. We had not seen them since her birthday party! We spent the majority of the weekend shopping, with Emory taking top honors in the I got new stuff category! This gal loves to shop! She got several new outfits, two new pair of shoes, new pj's, and a big girls backpack. Her she is "modeling" her new backpack and new sandals last night!

On the way home from shopping today Emory "lost her lunch" and has managed to lose it two more times this evening. A few kids at her daycare were out last week with a 24 hour stomach bug and I am afraid she might have caught it. Hopefully she is feeling better tomorrow and we can make it home.

Snow, Take Two

Well, it started snowing again Wednesday morning and was still snowing when I got home that evening. It did not stick as well as last time, but I had to take pictures because I do not think we have ever had snow (at least in my lifetime) twice in the same month. This is what it looked like when I got home.

Bradley just planted these azalea's Sunday. We have started working on the landscaping around the house and this is our first flower bed... And yes that first plant has a bloom on it!

My office was delayed until 10:00 am as was Bradley's school so we just hung out this morning. Here is Emory checking out the snow.

This is what it looked like when we woke up and before the sun started melting it. We probably had between 1 to 2 inches that stuck, even though it snowed pretty much all day and was still snowing at 10:00 last night when I went to bed.

Italiano, Gaters, and Leaves

Thursday night I made Spaghetti and I think Emory was a fan! She loved it! I was not sure if she would eat Spaghetti, so I gave her some Chef Boyardee Shells and Meatballs too. That was a mistake, she preferred homemade pasta to canned. SMART GIRL!! We also discovered that she loves mushrooms (I put them in my spaghetti), and she loved them.

Then Saturday morning Bradley had to run an early morning errand and brought us back breakfast. Emory tried her first doughnut hole, but preferred the kolaches.

Here she is with doughnut hole in hand waving at Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse Club was coming on in the living room! She loves that show! After breakfast (she ate half the doughnut hole and half of a large kolache) it was time to play!

She loves the outdoors and always wants to look out the window even though she is NOT suppose to touch the blinds, she does anyways. You notice that she had to look back at me to see if I saw what she was doing. NAUGHTY NAUGHTY

Once I raised the blinds she decided to pull her rocking chair over to the window so she could look out.

Then it was time to play with the purses and Mommy decided we would try on her new size 4 shoes to see if they were close to fitting! This little purse Emory decided she HAD TO HAVE when we were shopping for an Easter dress. She got it off the rack and carried it around the store. She did a good job because it actually matches her Easter dress.

Here she is again with purse #2 and a pair of her new size 4 shoes. They almost fit! Her size 3's are all looking a little worn and I really do not want to have to buy anymore size 3's because I do not think she will be able to wear that size much longer.

After we played for a while we got dressed and headed outside to ride the Gator. She loves to ride! We rode all over the farm. We checked out the cows, horses, trees, dirt, bushes, and visited daddy and Peepaw who were working by the barn.

We then played in Mimi and Peepaw's yard, because we still do not have grass in ours yet. Emory loves to pick up leaves and then bring them to me.

After we played we took a break on Mimi's bench! Emory is really into sitting by herself like a "big girl."

After we played Aunt Rachel and Mimi came home from baby shopping and we got to see all the new things for Emory's little cousin, plus two new outfits for Emory. Thank you Mimi!

13 Months Old

Emory turned 13 months old on Monday and is growing by leaps and bounds. She is really starting to act more like a little girl rather than a baby, which is both sad and exciting. She has a mind of her own which I knew would be the case before she was even born. I have not done a list in a while so here is what she has been up too!

-She is still wearing size 9 -12 month clothes and wearing a size 3 diaper.

-She is not quite 19lbs and weighed 18lbs 13ounces last week at the doctor.

-She pretty much eats whatever Bradley and I eat but has her favorites, such as cheese and crackers.

-She is talking up a storm and learning new words daily, including a few multiple syllable words.

-She walks, runs, and came close to skipping the other day before falling down. (Not sure what she was trying to do)

-She loves to watch Mickey Mouse Club and usually always waves to Mickey when he comes on, too cute! She also likes to dance to the hot dog song at the end of the show. I think it is her favorite part.

-She loves to play with her toys and just recently starting playing hide-n-seek with us. Which means she goes and hides and waits for us to find her. Her favorite hiding places are in her closet and in between the side table and wall in the living room. She also likes to play chase!

She also thinks it fun playing in the fireplace! Mommy does not!

She found dental floss while I was getting ready one morning and had a great time undoing it all! She also got a hold of some toilet paper, which she tore into small pieces.

She loves to sit in her Elmo chair as well as her bean bag chair.

She also likes to go for rides in her wagons.

Our Little Helper

Sunday afternoon Emory helped Bradley and I around the house.

She cleaned the floors.

and again....

and again. She loves to be pushed on this thing!

She also helped with the laundry. She has become quite the little helper and always seems to be right by mine or her daddy's side.

Check out that hair. It has such static electricity and pretty much stands up when it get close to anything.

 

Valentine's Day

Sunday Emory woke up, snuggled with mommy and daddy and then opened her Valentine's present. She loves dogs so I found this cute little purple dog card.

I think she found it to be quite interesting. I just loved this face, it cracks me up.

Wow! A new shirt....

and crayons and a red teddy bear!

I think she loved her presents and has already colored with and ate some of the crayons! Yes, while coloring she bit the top right off the red crayon and Mommy had to dig it out of her mouth. Which has become quite painful given she is working on her 10th tooth and likes to bite down when fingers are in her mouth!

Boy or Girl?

My sister-in-law is pregnant with her first baby and on Monday they found out that they were having a................

GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!

They estimated that she weighed around 10 ounces and was growing strong and healthy. I am so excited for Rachel and Andrew and that Emory will have a cousin so close in age. I am sure the girls will grow to be close and have lots of fun together. We can't wait to me her!

Winter Wonderland

While I was getting ready for work on Thursday it started snowing and I got excited because Emory would get to experience snow, which is rare in East Texas. But by the time we got home that evening what snow had fallen was gone. Then around 6:30 that evening it started to snow and was still snowing when we woke up Friday morning.

We woke up to 8 inches of snow and no electricity. This is what our front yard looked like. All the schools were closed so Bradley was off and my office delayed opening till 1:00, so I decided to take the day off. So we bundled Emory up and went out to play!

The snow was so heavy that it snapped limbs and even some trees, like this one in the backyard.

Friday was also Bradley's birthday and we got to spend it together playing in the snow. Our electricity finally came back on about 11:00 pm Friday night, which was great because the house had become quite cold except for the living room which had a fire going in the fireplace. We even had snow still ground this morning, but it started to melt this afternoon when the sun came out.
