Low Key Weekend

Emory has been coughing, sneezing, and sputtering for the last few days so we kept it pretty low key this weekend. We mainly hung around the house all weekend. Sunday she seemed to feel better so I got out the camera to take a few pictures, however Ms. E wanted nothing to do with getting her picture taken!
She woke up Sunday morning with quite the do, this picture does not do it justice. She was not amused with me taking her picture while she was trying to eat her biscuit.
This is where I found Emory when I went in to check on her after putting her down for a nap. I guess she rocked herself to sleep!
Riding her cow
This is the face I got when I asked Emory to say CHEESE!
And again before going outside for a little bit Sunday evening. She wanted no part in getting her picture taken.

Who needs clothes?

Sunday afternoon Emory decided that she did not want to wear her clothes anymore and proceeded to take them off. Here is a rundown of the process.
Struggling with all her might to get her dress off!
Ok, maybe I will just wear it as a skirt!
Nope! Now for the bloomers!
One leg down!
Finally.... I am free! After she succeeded she went and put her dress and bloomers in her dirty clothes basket. Such the little helper

Nap Time 101

Put baby down for nap.
30 minutes later- Hear a lot of noise coming from bedroom and discover this. Clean up and put baby back down.
30 minutes later- Repeat of above picture. Clean up and put baby back down for nap.
Then......
30 minutes of putting baby back in bed after she gets out and bangs on bedroom door over and over again....
Finally 1.5 hours after first putting baby in bed.....
SLEEP!
1 hour later- Rise and shine.

Perfect Sense

Sunday morning Emory decided that she needed to sit in the dining room. I do not know why, she had already ate breakfast and there is nothing exciting in there other than a table. But she decided it was the thing to do and once Emory makes up her mind about something, she goes full speed ahead until she is satisfied. So I grabbed the camera, sat back and watched. Here is a play by play of what she did.
She was quite pleased with herself after she made it in the chair. She sat there for a little while, then climbed down and pushed the chair back under the table and was off to something else. I find myself thinking, ALOT, if I could only get inside that little head of hers I am sure this would make perfect sense!

16 Months Old

Emory turned 16 months old on Saturday and is an absolute MESS. She has really started to show her independence, hence the nakedness in the picture above, which is a whole other story! So what has she been doing lately or should I say what HASN'T she been doing!

-She is wearing 12 month clothes now and is still in a size 3 diaper
-She wears a size 4 shoe
-She is talking up a storm and knows too many words to keep up with. This weekend she added, yellow, baby, please, Bogey (our dog), and Toodles from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
-She loves to play hide and seek and do anything outside!
She loves to empty her toy basket and climb in.
She loves to play with balls. She was giving me this one.
She decided SHE needed to sit in the cube and took all her stuff animals out. Do you see a pattern here?
She loves to take bath's and has almost figured out how to climb in/out of the tub!
She loves to slide. Side Note: Purple socks, another sign of her being independent.
And says weeee as she goes down!
She also likes to give her baby dolls and stuff animals rides on the slide.

Emory is also a fan of the broom! I will have to remind her of this when she is older.
Welcome to Ft. Emory. Yes, she loves to build forts now too!

Naughty Naughty

Last night during dinner Emory thought putting her foot on the table was absolutely hilarious even though she knew she was being naughty. When we were not looking she would slowly raise her foot up and put it on the table, then as soon as we looked and told her to get her foot off the table she would lower it back down.
Again
and again
and again.
Her expression gives her away! She knew she was being mischievous. Finally after a few stern "Emory take your foot off the table" and removing her from the situation by pulling her chair away from the table she decided she better stop. Then it was time to eat!
Have I mentioned my daughter loves ketchup? Well she does. She likes to dip her fish sticks and chicken strips into ketchup. Last night we had hamburgers and Emory had a hamburger patty. She saw the ketchup bottle and insisted on some herself.
Here she is dipping a butter bean into the ketchup!
I guess she liked it!

Our Weekend

We had a great weekend despite a minor water leak and the discovery that our less than one year old shower is leaking or should I say leaked all into the master closet. Needless to say the company that tiled the shower will be at our house Monday afternoon to FIX IT! Luckily it is also the same company that laid our carpet, so they will be fixing that too! Saturday morning Emory and I headed to Crockett to see my grandmother, aunts, and cousin (My aunt Linda and cousin Amy were in from California). Emory had a great time visiting with everyone. Then Sunday morning Emory woke up in a very snugly mood, which was the best part of my Mother's Day. She was full of hugs and kisses. She is so funny when she wants to give you a kiss, she leans towards you and smacks her lips making a kissy sound. Too Cute! Then Bradley fixed Emory and I breakfast! Later that morning Emory came running in with a card for me, of course she had to open it and read it to me, and my Mother's Day present, a gift card for a pedicure! Emory also made a picture album at day care. Ms. Betty said she put the sticker's on the outside of the album all by herself. Ms. Betty took pictures of Emory in the blue bonnets, playing, and of her day to day activities at daycare, and filled the album with them. It was WONDERFUL of Ms. Betty to take so much time and share what her days are like at daycare with us.
Emory playing at Alpie's house. She had been shopping and purchased a few eggs! She was showing me the eggs.
This was a doll bed my Aunt Shirley had when she was little. Emory took the baby doll out and climbed on in.
She had just returned from visiting the moo cows!
I thought her hat on sideways was funny! She loves this hat, because it is like her daddy's hats minus the pink color of course. She picked it out all by herself when we were shopping one day.
Emory picked a flower on her adventure to see the cows. You can barley see it because it blends in with her blanket.
This was Bradley's first cowboy hat when he was a little boy. Emory loves wearing it even though she can't see a thing with it on!

What's Next, Everest?

Have I mentioned my daughter loves to climb. She will climb everything and anything. She has mastered the bar stools, bed, chairs, couch, and now her CRIB. Yes, she figured out how to climb out of her crib Friday night! I felt like this was coming because Ms. Betty told us earlier in the week that Emory had climbed out of the playpen at day care. So Friday night Bradley and I heard her cry out and then a loud thud! Luckily she went feet first and was not hurt. I think us running in there and turning on the lights freaked her out more than the fall! After she did it the first time she was an old pro at it and was already on her way out again not 2 minutes after being put back in her crib. We were there this time to grab her before going over! So we improvised Friday night by turning her crib around backwards so the short side was against the wall but Saturday morning the toddler bed made its debut! I think she really likes it and for the most part stays in it! There was evidence that a little party occurred during the night Sunday morning, but other than that she has stayed in it.
She climbed onto her cube to get a better view!
Eating snacks in her new booster chair. She is no longer a fan of the highchair and wants to sit in the bar stools like Mommy and Daddy!
We were playing the where's your ..... game. I asked her where her nose was!
Then where her eyes were. You notice that she kept her finger on her nose and used her other hand to point to her eyes! What a mess!
Here she is having a mini-temper tantrum all because the hanger was stuck in the basket and she could not get it out. The words DRAMA QUEEN come to mind. She also has on her necklaces in this picture. They have become an integral part of her wardrobe as well as an old watch of mine! She wears them all the time!
Just hanging out in her chair.
She decided to "read" a magazine. She has started "reading" aloud now.
Add the coffee table to things she likes to climb!
And here she is in her BIG GIRL BED! Even though it is barely off the floor I still worry about her falling out so I stack pillows next to it just in case! So far she has stayed in it though!
