M'm M'm Good

This was Emory last night after dinner. As you can see she enjoyed her mixed veggies and squash! Emory loves to "blow bubbles" while she has food in her mouth, in fact she finds it quite amusing! Needless to say, food goes everywhere! She had it in her eyebrows, nose, and behind her ears the other night!

Trip to Grandma & PawPaw's

Friday Emory and I headed south to see my parents and do some "school" shopping. So Saturday morning Emory, Mom, and I headed to the mall, which was not nearly as crowed as I was anticipating, given it was tax free weekend. Emory was such a good little girl and made out with several new outfits, the cutest little ladybug Halloween costume, and of course a new toy from Grandma. I was a bit disappointed in the selection of fall/winter baby clothes in the stores. Everything was so grown up looking and I just do not want my baby girl to look grown up! I did find some cute winter outfits that were age appropriate so all and all it was a good shopping day.
This is a little rocking chair my Mom made for Emory! Isn't it cute!
Emory playing with her new toy! Thanks Grandma
Chewing on a ladybug toy that used to be Noah's.
Playing with her cousin Noah's toy guitar that he played with when he was little.

I'm a Big Girl Now

Saturday Bradley lowered Emory's crib yet again, after I found her half way out of it Friday night. She was suppose to be going to sleep, but instead she was as far over the edge as she could get without falling trying to put the ribbon that is on the outside of her bumper pad in her mouth. Her mattress is as low as it can go now and I do not think she is going anywhere, at least for awhile!
Peeking out over her crib after Bradley lowered her mattress.
Hi Mom!
Chewing on her crib!
This is how Emory napped Sunday morning. I got this on video too, because she was snoring really loud and it cracked me up! She slept like this for over 2 hours!

7 Months Old

Emory turned 7 months old on Saturday...
She wears 3-6 months clothes.
She wears a size 2 diaper.
She now has four teeth, and thinks it is funny to grind them together.
She eats formula and stage 2 baby food, pretty much everything but carrots (she gets that from her daddy)!
She is learning to drink from a sippy cup.
She can roll, flip, scoot, talk, giggle, laugh, crawl, and now pull up and stand assisted.
She is a people watcher.
She still puts everything in her mouth, especially tags, they are her favorite.
She is very very curious and loves to explore.
She loves to watch the water go down the drain after her bath.
She loves to play with her toys!
She knows her name and is starting to learn what NO means!

She is always on the go!

Too cute!

Little Miss Independent

Emory has been crawl scooting and crawling short distances for a while now, but she started following us from room to room a few days ago. Then last night she decided to go on a solo trip to her bedroom. She was playing with Bradley in the living room and then all of a sudden made a bee line for her bedroom door, which is off the living room. Once she got to her door she saw a toy that she wanted and away she went. Bradley and I stood back and watched her play in her room until she decided she was ready to join us again in the living room. She is getting to be such a big girl, and I can't believe she will be 7 months on Saturday! Below is picture from last Saturday of Emory hanging out with us in the kitchen!

Our Weekend

This weekend Emory had loads of fun. Her Grandma and PawPaw came up on Saturday to see her and keep her while Bradley and I ran to Lufkin. She had a fun time playing with them. She also loves to play with her toys, Bradley’s shoe laces, my slippers, or anything she can find that is new and looks interesting. This weekend she found a diet coke can that Bradley left by the couch, a tiny piece of string, the Direct TV channel guide list, and the rug by the kitchen sink, which she drug around. She is so curious about everything and when she spots something she is like a little bullet towards it. We have started to Emory proof the house, which means moving everything at her eye level up! Emory has also started to make associations. On Saturday she touched my foot and then looked down at hers and touched it. She is too cute. I of course had to clap and give her a big YEAH EMORY, which gets her tickled. She also got her first post-card this weekend from her great Aunt Shirley. I think it was her first piece of mail! Thank you Aunt Shirley.
Trying to eat Cookie Monster!
Playing with her dolly.
Hmm, what's under here?
I love this thing!
Here I come mom!
* Note the bib to the left of Emory in the corner, she has learned how to take them off!

Look Whose Standing

Emory first stood in her crib last week, but I finally got a picture of her this weekend! She was suppose to be taking a nap.
On her knees pre-stand telling me hi!
And she's up!
Just hanging out looking at her room from a new perspective!

I Miss My Little Girl

Tonight is the first night I have been away from Emory and I miss her terribly. I had to go out of town for work today and will be gone until late tomorrow. I just hope I make it back tomorrow night before she goes to sleep, so I can get one of her big open mouth sloppy wet kisses before I go to bed! They are the best! Below are pictures from last Sunday. Emory was "helping" me fold clothes. She was fascinated by the clothes in the basket and immediately stopped playing with her toys and came over to investigate. When I finished folding the clothes Emory knocked the basket over on its side and climbed in, so I put it back upright and sat her down in it. She loved it and played in it for nearly 30 minutes. She is so funny, she loves the clothes basket, but does not like her play pen.

Our Road Trip

We left for my sister's Saturday afternoon, which gave us some time to visit and see her new house before heading for Lubbock Sunday morning. Somewhere between Abilene and Sweetwater we had a blowout.

But God was watching over us and provided an exit ramp that enabled Bradley to exit and safely change the tire. We were basically in the middle of no where. See below. Emory slept through the blow out, but woke up while Bradley was changing the tire. It gave her and us a chance to stretch our legs! Once the tire was changed we were off again and got to Lubbock around 4:30pm.
This is where the tire blew!
Emory and I shopped while Bradley attended his conference. This was her first time in a buggy. I forgot her shopping cart cover thingy, but wiped it down real good! I think Emory loves Hobby Lobby just as much has her mommy!
Emory started to run a fever Wednesday evening which lasted until Sunday. She did not feel well at all. All I can say is a sick baby + a hotel room do not = fun! I am sure our neighbors were begging for a new room. Oh well what can you do. The fever was due to her teething, which she now has 4 teeth. THANK GOODNESS THEY FINALLY BROKE THROUGH! All I can say is the top two were much worse then the bottom ones. This is a picture of her on a kids tractor at the Agriculture Museum. You can tell that she does not feel well. Poor Baby! While we were away Emory learned how to pull up, which she has now become quite good at. Bradley found her standing in her crib last night when she was suppose to be going to sleep!
Food Update- Peaches she is still not sure about, but she loves squash. Go figure
