End of Summer Recap

The last few weeks of summer were busy. We have taken the heifer to two potluck shows, been to the pool a lot, back to school shopping, lived in a construction zone and have had a lot of fun!1
End of Summer Nerf War at the library. They all three had a blasts!
Emory and Cason have both been working with their show goats.
Cason found a rock at Belk and rehid it at Lowes as part of the Nac Rock Hunt.
Cason begging for a very expensive drone at Best Buy.
Eli wanted a picture too!
Emory got a shorter hairdo!
Cason built him a quiet place while all the fans were going in the house. He said he needed a break from Emory and Eli..
It has been hot outside!

School started today and I can't wait for fall!

Meet Presley

Back in February we adopted a dog from the shelter whom we named Lucy (pictured right). She has been the best dog and the kids all love her. Then a couple of weeks ago we learned of another scruffy little dog that was needing a home at the shelter and decided to go for a visit. Emory has wanted another dog for a few months, she thinks Lucy needs a friend. The new little dog was sweet and took to the kids right away. Emory decided she was absolutely adorable and we ended up bringing her home that same day.
First meeting at the shelter.
On the way home from the shelter the new doggie kept curling up her top lip to which gained lots of laughs. I made the comment that she looked like Elvis, to which Emory exclaimed we should name her Presley. Bradley was called and told of the name and just like that the new doggie had a name.
Meet Presley
Lucy and Presley get along and Presley has fit in nicely to our family. She is super smart just like Lucy, however she doesn't like the farm life as much as Lucy. When she gets tired of being at the barn she walks home and takes a nap. Mean while, Lucy enjoys rounding up goats, chasing bunnies, and jumping on hay bales. I am still not sure how those little legs of hers can jump up on to hay bales, but she does!

The Flood

Early Saturday morning on August 3rd, Bradley woke up to discover the hallway and some of the living room were flooded. We had water pouring out from the wall in the hallway. Water was also in the kids bedrooms, their bathroom, and the half-bath. After the plumber arrived we learned we had a leak in one of the pipes under the foundation. Thankfully this was able to be fixed without having to break into any concrete, however it left quite the mess. Serve Pro came Sunday and worked to dry everything, however after a week of very loud fans and very hot dehumidifiers, it was recommended that the carpet in the kids bedrooms and all the wood floor come up. As I type this 4 weeks later we are still in the middle of a demo zone.

First Day of School

Academic Awards and 4th Quarter Report Cards

With summer ending and school starting I figured it was about time to post the kids pictures from their academic award ceremony in May and their report cards. Both Emory and Cason earned metals for making all A's all year.
