Spring Has Arrived

Spring is in the air, literally. The flowers are blooming and the pollen is falling. My car is covered in yellow, as is everything else, but with the pollen comes the beautiful flowers and weather and Saturday was absolutely gorgeous. The red buds and dogwoods are blooming as well as the tulips. Since our yard is still a work in progress, I decided to take Emory up to the SFA campus to take her picture with the flowers. When we left I did not realize that it was Showcase Saturday, which means tons of prospective high school seniors and their parents were on campus. Despite the many people on campus and distractions, I managed to get a few cute pictures of my little people watcher!

Emory climbing the steps to higher education. ha! I guess she can't wait to go to school. I took a picture to remind her of her enthusiasm when she is older. Little did she know that I climbed the very same steps numerous times, however I do not think I was has eager to reach the top as she was!

Afterwards, Emory and I went to lunch and it is there that I learned my daughter is a big flirt! There happened to be a little boy about her age in the booth across from us and although their backs were to each other, Emory managed to smile, wave, say hi, and all but bat her eyes at him. It was so funny watching the two of them interact with each other. She is definitely a social butterfly when she wants to be!

Then Sunday Emory and I decorated Easter eggs.

After a good scrubbing and a change of clothes it was time to play.

A Typical Evening

Our evenings are usually fairly routine, we play, cook, eat, bath time, relax, sleep. We also have an occasional temper tantrum like the one Emory is having below. This is all because I had to kill a wasp with the flyswatter, which Emory decided she had to have.

But after a few tears and a sip of milk she was all better.

Then Emory "watched" TV while I got dinner ready.

She is just like her dad when it comes to the remote... always changing the channel.

TV watching is very exhausting!

Then after dinner, Emory decided to read a few magazines before her bath.

And go for a ride!

Then after her bath she worked out by walking around in my slippers. She loves wearing my shoes!

Then it was time to read a book and go to bed. Emory has decided that she can read books ALL by herself now! Even if they are upside down! Her she is reading her new prayer book.

Then off to bed!

Emory's Weekend

Friday evening was very low key. Emory has decided it is cool to sit on the stairs. After I took this picture I said, " Emory say cheese," hoping to get a smile.

This is what I got. She smiled alright, but kept right on chewing on Dot's arm, which she uses like a pacifier.

Saturday was cold and wet so we were forced to stay inside and play. As I mentioned before Emory loves to ride things. It does not matter if the item moves or is made for riding. She will find a way to ride it.

Then Sunday it decided to snow, yes snow. It snowed all day, but never stuck. We got a good dusting though and it was pretty to watch. Emory however was not amused, because she wanted to got outside and play.

She even stood by the back door at one point crying and pointing saying get, get. So I decided to break out the Easter eggs! Emory loved playing with the eggs. She also liked sitting on the eggs!

She also liked carrying her bunny basket around and transferring the eggs from the tub to the basket and vise versa. Then after a morning nap (roosting and egg transferring is very exhausting, ) it was time for lunch. I decided to let Emory try ravioli since she was still in her pj's and not dressed yet. What can I say.................

After we got cleaned up it was time to play again. Emory's new thing is to sit like a "big" girl on the fireplace.

Then it was time to roost again! She loved sitting on those eggs. She sat in that tub and played for over a hour. Then we played with the eggs together and worked on learning our colors!

She also likes to clap for herself, others, when she is hears clapping on TV, or just because. Sometimes we watch Wheel of Fortune in the evenings and Emory claps every time the crowd does. She also repeated the letter R when a contestant called it out the other night. Who knows maybe it will still be on TV when she is old enough to be a contestant!

So in a nut shell that was our wet snowy weekend!

Oops, 18 teeth and counting

I looked in Ms. Emory's mouth last night and to my surprise she now has 4 teeth coming in giving her a grand total of 18 teeth! WOW what a mouth full. Good thing we are going to the dentist next month, which I am dreading. I just hope she opens her mouth without loud penetrating screams coming from it! Emory has been practicing some with her spoon and fork. She is starting to get the hang of it, but still prefers picking up her food with her fingers and then putting it on her fork/spoon! She is so funny! Bradley thinks she is going to be a comedian, but I just think she is being 1!

14 Months

On Monday, March 15, 2010 Emory turned 14 months old. (I am a little late in posting this due to being sick the past few days). What can I say other than she is growing by leaps and bounds.

- She is still wearing size 9 months and some 12 month clothes. (I am hoping she has made it to 20lbs at her 15 month appointment next month!)

- She is still wearing a size 3 diaper.

- She did move up to the next shoe size and is now wearing size 4's!

- She is a good eater and eats just about whatever Bradley and I eat. Her favorites are mac-n-cheese, gram crackers, and animal crackers! She also LOVES corn! She loves to mmm while she eats, but sometimes it comes out hmmm!

- She is currently working on her 14th tooth!

- She is constantly on the move and loves playing hide-n-go seek, but without the seek part!

- She loves to sing and talk and can say the following words: mamma, daddy, get, dog, jacket, ball, glasses, uh oh, baba, (although she is no longer taking those) and I think she said shoe this morning.

-She has mastered where her nose, toes, ears, and belly button are.

-She loves brushing her teeth and picking out her pj's after her bath.

-She has also mastered putting her dirty clothes in the dirty clothes basket before her bath. She is such a little helper!

-She loves to play outside.

Here she is playing in the sand Monday evening! She had a blast and was covered in dirt from head to toe! She also loves ELMO and Mickey!

Eating her rake. Right after I took this picture she scooped up a hand full of dirt and went to town eating it. By the time I got to her she was smacking away, she did not like it thank goodness. I took this as a sign that she was hungry, so we cleaned up and went and ate dinner!

She is absolutely a mess! We love you dearly Emory Grace!

Sunday Sunday

Early Sunday morning Emory, Bradley, and I headed to Houston for the Livestock show. Bradley had a student showing a pig that morning and Emory and I tagged along to keep him company and see the sites. Emory had a great time and was a good girl despite the time changing and having to get up real early. She has however renamed pigs, dogs. Every single pig we looked at, she would point and say, "dog." After the pig show we had lunch and Emory ate a whole corn dog. This was not just any corn dog, it was one of those foot longers! We then browsed the vendor booths, but did not find anything we couldn't live without and headed home. We got home around 4:00 that afternoon changed into some cool and comfy clothes, and played! Emory decided to dump everything out of her toy basket in the living room and then sit in it.

So after sitting in her basket and playing for a while, she decided she needed to blow her nose. Probably because I was blowing mine like crazy and she LOVES to do whatever I am doing!

Then I decided to play hair dresser again and put Emory's hair in a pony tail. I could only get the top of her hair up so it was all down in the back. And here she is.....
