Cason had to get three shots today and was not a fan. Bradley said that he was still crying 10 minutes after they were over, so I am thinking his pain tolerance is not as high as Emory's. Poor baby. I'm almost glad I had to work because I hate to see either of my little ones hurting.

Cason's 2 Month Check-Up
Cason had is 2 month check-up this morning and weighed a tad more than what I was anticipating. He is 14 lbs 3 ounces (90 %) and 23.25 inches (60%) long. He is a big healthy boy, which is all that matters. Dr. Huggins said the little spot on his cheek is a superficial hemangioma and will likely go away with time. If not laser treatment is available if he so chooses when he is older. She also thinks my yogurt "fix" may be causing his tummy troubles, so no more yogurt for this mommy. Hopefully that will resolve his issues and help him to feel better.

Family BBQ
Yesterday we went to my grandmother’s house for a family Bar-B-Q. My aunt was in from California and all the family got together for a visit. My cousins and aunts all got to meet Cason for the first time. We all had a good time visiting and eating good food. I ate way too much!
Here are my two little sweet peas loving on each other.

Too many cameras at once. Emory was obviously not looking at mine!

Alpie and her two great grandson's. Her great granddaugther was not participating at this point.

2 Months Old
Cason is 2 months old today and has grown and changed a lot in the last month. I feel like he weighs between 12 and 13 lbs. He is wearing size 0-3 months and 3 months clothes and a size 2 diaper. He is a happy baby and only really cries or fusses when his tummy is bothering him.

He is a strong little boy and can almost hold his head up with no wobbling. He loves to mimic your facial expressions and is starting to "talk" more and more. He smiles when smiled at and loves to take a bath.

He is such a sweet little boy and we love him dearly.

Mommy Daughter Day
Emory has been showing some signs that she needed some one on one time with me, so Wednesday I dropped Cason off at Ms. Betty's and Emory and I had a Mommy Daughter Day. Plus it gave Ms. Betty and Cason some time to bond before he starts going next Monday when I return to work.

We headed over to Chick-fil-a for lunch and play time. Emory had a blast playing in the play area and sliding on the "big girl" slide. There was a small kindergarten graduation party going on, which Emory managed to crash, with lots of kids running around. Somehow she charmed her way into getting a piece of their cookie cake. Thank goodness it was after they had finished having cake and the other mother assured me she had plenty.

So after her 100th time down the slide we packed up and headed over to Hastings. I had something I needed to return and thought Emory would enjoy playing in the children's area.

I told Emory she could pick out a book or a puzzle and after much consideration my little tomboy picked out this puzzle.

Tractors and dirt trucks, as she calls them. I thought maybe she picked this one out because her Peepaw has a bulldozer, but after she referred to it as her puzzle purse, I realized her choice had nothing to do with the kind of puzzle, but rather the fact the box had a handle and was a "purse." So maybe she is not as tomboyish as I think!
I also perused the 75% off shelf and found these two books. The number's book was just $0.99. Emory knows her numbers 1-20, but does not always get 11- 20 in the correct order.

It also came with this poster, not bad for a buck. Emory WANTS to hang it in her room. I think I am going to get it laminated first though. She is two and already wanting posters in her room. I foresee a room full of posters when she is older, that is if they still make them then, ha!

Umbrella
Last week we were very fortunate to get some much needed rain, however one afternoon it began to poor just as Bradley was picking up Emory from Ms. Betty's. He did not have an umbrella and both he and Emory got wet. So later that week I was in Walgreen's and came across this little Dora umbrella.

Too cute! I knew Emory would LOVE IT and had to get it. I figured she could keep it in her Daddy's truck and use it the next time it rained.
So Sunday morning she NEEDED her Dora umbrella opened because it was cloudy and rainy outside. As you can see it was sunny outside, except in Emory World! ha!

Giddy Up
This afternoon after her nap Emory rode Sally (or any horse) for the first time. She was SUPER excited about it. I did not get to go out with her as I had a very hungry little munchkin, but Bradley went and took pictures for me. Bradley said she was not hesitant at all and climbed right on up. Emory and Sally are good friends because she helps Mimi and Peepaw feed her all the time. Plus Sally is older and very gentle and as been in the family for close to 15 years. So needless to say Emory was not scared at all!

Puzzlemania
Emory has always loved puzzles, but lately she has been puzzle crazy. She puts them together over and over and over again. We have moved up to the big girl puzzles, which means those that do not have the cut outs for each piece. The ones with cut outs she has deemed baby puzzles. Last night I got out a bus puzzle or as Emory called it, the wheels on the bus puzzle, and she loved it. We had been putting together an animal puzzle that I am now very tired of, so I thought a change of puzzle would be good for all of us. After just two or three times she was able to remember where the pieces go and pretty much can do it by herself. We put the bus puzzle together many many times again this morning and she was playing with it when it was time for her nap. This caused quite the dilemma because she DID NOT want to stop playing with the puzzle to take a nap. After some tears, shrills, and begging it was agreed that she could take a nap with the puzzle. And of course she did!

And this little man is becoming quite the charmer! ha! He seems to really enjoy watching his big sister.

Which is great because she keeps him entertained!

Big Sister Cobb
The other day Emory declared that her name was no longer Emory Grace Cobb, but rather Big Sister Cobb. And yes you have to include Cobb with Big Sister. She continues to take her role as big sister very serious and for the most part is very sweet and loving toward her brother, although she refers to him as sister and her. I think that is because her friend Bay at Ms. Betty's has a baby sister. She still has a few moments of jealousy where she does not want to share us with her brother, but for the most part she is doing wonderful. She continues to want to hold him and actually let me take pictures yesterday.

She likes to hold his hand and is proud of the fact that her hands are bigger than his.

So sweet!
