Hard At Work

This afternoon the kids helped Bradley load firewood onto our new firewood rack. They both worked hard and had a great time! I will be sure and remind them of that when they get older!
Emory was telling me that she did not have time to stop and take a picture because she was working!
Cason found the ladder and of course climbed it!
So Mommy fixed that problem!
Don't let this face fool you, he pitched quite the fit when I put the ladder on its side.

Shoes, Silliness, & Lights

Last night Bradley had to work late chaperoning a school dance so the kids and I went out to eat and did a little shopping. I let Emory choose the restaurant and of course she picked Chili's, which is her favorite restaurant. After Chili's we set out to get new tennis shoes. I just happened to find a buy one get one for a $1.00 sale at Bealls and scored two pairs of shoes for the price of one! Both Emory and Cason love their new shoes and insisted on wearing them as soon as they woke up this morning.
This is what I got when I asked Emory to model her new shoes. Emory picked out this lovely pair of silverish gray and pink tennis shoes. At least they won't show dirt!
Cason's are blue and white with a red Niki swoosh. He is very proud of them!
For those of you that are wondering what in the world Emory is wearing, that would be a night gown that is too small for her and a pair of pajamas.
The nightgown is a 2T and way too small for her but it is her favorite so we still let her wear it. She wanted to wear it last night but I told her she needed to wear long sleeve pajamas because it was cold outside. After a battle of wills Emory came up with the idea of wearing both and created this lovely ensemble. So that is what she wore to bed last night! You also may have noticed Cason standing in the chair behind her. His new favorite thing is turn on and off the lights.
Who knew light switches could be so entertaining!

Big Boy Haircut

Cason got his hair cut like a big boy today. It is short but super cute! Bradley said he sat still and was a very good boy again this time even when they used the clippers, which was a first for him.
He looks like a little boy now and not like my baby, which makes me a little sad, but he looks so cute with his new hairdo!

Pumpkin Patch 2012

We took the kids to the pumpkin patch this morning and they had a blast. I did my best to take pictures but Cason was everywhere and Emory was in a bit of a mood. I think I got a few keepers though!

Emory's First Haircut

This afternoon I took Emory to get her hair cut for the first time. It has been 3 years and 9 months in the making and about time, I know! When Emory was two Amanda (who cut her hair) told me that she would wait until she was older because her hair was healthy and growing in good and unless I just wanted it short there was really no reason to cut it. Emory's hair grows fast so at that point I just decided to let it grow... and grow it did! Emory was a very good girl while Ms. Amanda cut her hair and got a sucker when she was done!  She got about 2 to 2.5 inches cut off but it is still long enough to braid and put up in a ponytail. She loves it!
Emory before her hair cut.
And after her haircut.
This was the best front view I could get. Which brings me to the out takes.
Have I mentioned that Emory loves to perform and is an absolute MESS!

Pumpkin Fun

Yesterday morning Mimi, Rachel, and Mckenzie came over and we attempted a Pinterest idea. The idea was to use cookie cutters to decorate your pumpkin. The idea worked but took a lot of muscle power. After one moon and an almost star, I ditched the cookie cutters and made an old fashion face on the other side.
Cason hammering away.
Emory stirring the seeds, which we roasted yesterday afternoon.
This face cracks me up!
She is so dramatic and was telling me that she was to busy working to have her picture taken.
Here is our finished pumpkin.
Miss Mckenzie blowing bubbles!
My failed attempted of taking Emory's picture with the pumpkin. At least she is smiling and happy even if she would not look at the camera!
