3 Years Old

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CASON!!!
You are three years old today!
You are our little clown. You love to laugh and make others laugh. You have the cutest little laugh and I love it when you get tickled.
You love all things farm and cowboy. You can not get enough big tractors, dump trucks, excavators, log trucks, skidders, hay balers, and fire trucks. You also love tools and working with your Daddy. You tell us all the time that you want to "Go WURK!"
You also love to sing. You sing anywhere and everywhere. You love to sing your Bible songs and Old McDonald. I can't wait for you start choir at church in the fall because you are going to love it!
The picture above just makes me laugh! One of your favorite sayings right now is "I not feel very happy" which is exactly what you were telling me when I took the picture. You tell us this when you are not getting your way or you do not like what you are being told to do. You also tell us "no ma'am" and "no sir" when you do not like what we are telling you. This is usually accompanied with a swift finger shake, but you learning that you can't always get your way and how to listen and obey.
You like a routine and for things to be a certain way or in your mind the "right way." You are also literal when it comes to things. You like to play superhero but if anyone calls you Superman or Batman you are real quick to correct them and say "No I Batboy or Superboy" because you are a boy not a man!
"Oh Coconuts" is another one of your favorite sayings. You got this from Jake and the Never Land Pirates and say it when you mess up or drop something. You call movie cases suit cases and diet coke biet coke, which you love to drink as much as your Daddy. You are quite the talker with a large vocabulary. The only time you are not talking is when you are sleeping or your best bud (thumb) is in your mouth. I can't believe you are already three years old. The past three years have flown by so quickly and it seems like just yesterday we were meeting you for the first time. We love you Cason Bradley and are so glad to have you as our son!

Emory's School Work

A few of Emory's worksheets and art work from the past two months.
The picture under the butterfly is Tinkerbell!
I thought she did a fantastic job drawing Mimi's cat Cricket up above!
The picture on the right is of a pig!

Photo Shoot

This morning I took Cason to take his 3 year old pictures and Emory tagged along. Cason was in a mood because he wanted to go to Wal-Mart and buy more sausage and waffles (we were out), so Emory decided she should show him how it was done!
It was foggy and cloudy this morning but I thought they turned out okay for the hay meadow across the street! I may try this spot again when it is sunny and when Cason is in a better mood but I was able to get a few cute ones of him too (I will post those later this week)!

Emory's Report Card - Third Quarter

Emory brought home her report card Friday and she continues to be a little sponge and loves to learn!
She also loves to "teach me" things. Last week she was educating me on the difference between a carnivore and a herbivore!

Spring Break

This spring break was all about working with a little fun sprinkled in too! We have been busy getting the new pasture ready for grass to be planted, which translates to picking up and burning lots and lots of sticks.  I had to work Monday - Wednesday but did take off Thursday and Friday. The plan was to go to Cameron's for a visit but she ended up coming to our house with Maddie on Friday because Blake got a nasty stomach bug. So Thursday I took the kids to McDonalds to eat and then we headed to the Ellen Trout Zoo in Lufkin.
Cason really liked the "big lizard!"
He was one of the few animals that was not sleeping while we were there!
Cheese!
The kids riding the lion.
Cason roared the entire time he was up there and refused to stop roaring to smile!
The love birds snoozing!
This peacock was far off but I was able to get a picture of it with it's wings spread. By the time we got closer he had closed them up.

This tortoise was smiling at us! Cason really liked the "big turtles."

Cameron and Maddie came on Friday (Noah was at his Dad's). We went to lunch at Newks and then on to the park to play!
We attempted to take a group picture. These two were the best!
 Cason LOVES to slide!
Cason ONLY calls Maddie, Maddie Moo! He says it so funny too!
We had a fun but quick visit with Cameron and Madison! That about sums up our Spring Break. Now to get ready for a certain little boys 3rd birthday!!!

Garden Prep

Saturday afternoon we went to work building the first of four (hopefully) raised beds for our garden. We moved the garden this year to its permanent spot, which is behind the new garage.
Cason helping his Daddy work. See the little yellow nail gun behind him. That is his toy gun that he went inside to retrieve so he could nail some boards together! He love tools!
Emory and Cason working hard. Notice that Emory has already removed her shoes and socks.
Miss Priss and her hole.
Cason loves the drill! He usually is drilling dirt with it.
Emory definitely "broke in" her new capri's. She was covered in dirt from head to toe!
Cason got a bobo a few days ago at Ms. Betty's on his forehead and insisted on wearing a band aid Saturday. He said he needed to stop the blood that did not exist.
Our first bed nearly finished!
Emory sitting in her hole!
