Emory is all about words these days. She loves sounding them out, spelling, and writing words! Yesterday she was writing words on her dry erase board when I overheard her say she was going to write a sentence. I watched her as she sounded out and wrote each word. She wrote "The dog had the dad." all by herself! I am not quite sure how the dog had the dad, but I am sure if I would have asked her she would have had a very creative response! She was very proud of her sentence!

Easter 2014
Easter morning we got up and the kids checked out their Easter baskets! Then we got ready and went to church. After church I attempted to take pictures of the kids before lunch at Mimi and Peepaw's house, but between the wind, Easter eggs that were itching to be found, and one uncooperative and stubborn 3 year old these were the best I could get!
Emory Grace 5 & Cason Bradley 3
After lunch it was time to hunt the eggs!
The kids found lots of eggs and had loads of fun!

Regents Easter Egg Hunt
Thursday the Pre-K and Kindergarten classes had an Easter Egg Hunt at Emory's school.

My little bunny hunting eggs!
The kids all had cards telling them what color egg and how many of each color to find!
Emory's class with the Easter Bunny.
Don't they all look thrilled! They were ready to hunt eggs and were not interested in taking pictures with the bunny. After the egg hunt Emory's class had their Easter party. It was wild but lots of fun!!!

FBC Easter Egg Hunt
This afternoon the kids had their Easter Egg Hunt at church. It was raining outside so the hunting was moved inside, but everyone still managed to have a blast!
Cason patiently waiting for the fun to start!
They love each other so!
Ms. Melanie had just finished talking to the kids about the empty tomb and Jesus' resurrection. Next it was time to hunt the eggs!
Emory and Cason both found lots of eggs!
After the hunt the kids had snacks and checked out their eggs.
Cason discovering candy in one of his eggs!!!
As you can see he was thrilled. After snacks we did several crafts before coming home.
Check Out My Ears
Look at my ear.
Do you see the difference?!?
Ta-da! I got my ears pierced this weekend!!
Emory has been asking to get her ears pierced for a couple of years now and last week Bradley said she could. So Saturday I took her and she did awesome. Not one tear was shed! She picked out a little pair of pink flower studs which she felt matched most of her outfits!
This was just before her first ear was pierced. She was a little nervous but was a very brave girl!
This was right after the first ear was pierced.
She got quiet but never cried or complained that it hurt. She told me after we left that it just hurt for a second. Emory has been very diligent and responsible with taking care of her pierced ears following her after care directions to a t!

Dallas Zoo
Last weekend we went to Dallas to visit Lincoln in the hospital and the Bisbey bunch in Ft. Worth!
Saturday morning we went and saw Lincoln as well as picked up Miss Mckenzie and then met Cameron, Blake and crew at the Dallas Zoo! I took my good camera but forgot the memory card so had to use my phone, therefore the pictures are not great quality!
The penguins were a hit!
Riding the merry-go-round!
We rode the monorail around "Africa" at the zoo. It was a great way to learn about the animals and see the zoo. The waterfalls were very pretty too!
Cameron, Emory, and Mckenzie feeding the giraffe! Noah was next to me making videos with his phone. I think he videoed the entire experience!
Cason liked the Stork.
This guy or gal (not sure) won the ugliest bird award by me! I think it was some type of vulture. He also liked to stare!
Another waterfall!
Mckenzie riding an elephant!

This lion liked to stare too! We thought he looked hungry!!

The elephant was playing peek-a-boo with us! We had a fun time at the zoo despite the cold weather!

3 Year Check-Up
This morning Cason had his 3 year check-up. He weighs 30.2lbs (34th percentile) and is 37.5 inches (52nd percentile). He had gained 2lbs and 1.5 inches since is 2 1/2 year check-up in September. He got a good report and two Spider-Man stickers which he was very proud of and immediately stuck them on his shirt (see below).
When the nurse was checking his weight he told Cason that he like his camo shirt to which Cason responded very SERIOUSLY, "This not a camo shirt this a JOHN DEERE shirt!"
