Gingerbread Train

This year the kids picked out a gingerbread train instead of a house. So yesterday morning we went to work building and decorating our train. Both Emory and Cason did a great job decorating their train cars. Emory picked the engine and Cason the caboose, then they both worked on the middle train car.
Cason decorating one of the cars.
Emory is my detail orientated child and she worked very hard on every detail of her engine!
We only decorated one side of our train so we had left over icing and candy. The kids LOVED the icing! They said it was delicious!!

Christmas Parade

Last Saturday we went to the Christmas parade and the kids had a fun!
Emory waiting on the parade to start.
The Property Brothers were in town speaking and lead the parade as well as judged the floats.
Every parade needs a singing Elvis,
Elsa and Ana from Frozen, and Rudolph!
Cason taking it all in.
He told me later that his favorite things were the horses, big tractor, and police.
The horses.

Happy Early Birthday Maddie Moo

Madison turns 2 on December 5th so we celebrated her birthday last Friday after Thanksgiving. We also celebrated Grandma's birthday on Thanksgiving day!
Madison Marie 2 years old!
Cameron rented a bounce house for the kids to play on. They bounced Thursday while we cooked Thanksgiving dinner and then again on Friday.
 Getting ready to slide!
Not sure what this was about. Cameron snapped these pictures while I was helping cook. They look liked they have a major case of the giggles!
 Maddie had fun bouncing!

 All four grandkids
Noah 12, Emory almost 6, Cason 3, and Madison 2
Grandma bounced a little on Friday!
Friday afternoon the kids each took turns at the piñata.

Emory has quite the swing and stance!
Pawpaw played a trick on Noah and raised the piñata just before he would swing.
Check out that fierce face!
The piñata finally fell and all the kids got candy. Maddie loves candy!
Maddie enjoying her ring pop!
Opening presents with her blue lips! She had fun and figured out the unwrapping thing very quickly!
Still working on the ring pop during Happy Birthday. She LOVED that thing and ENJOYED it!
Maddie LOVES shoes so Cameron got her a shoe cake!

She decided it was okay to put down the ring pop long enough to taste the icing! She is too funny!
Cason enjoying a piece of cake!

Cutting Down Our Christmas Tree

Sunday after church we went to cut our Christmas tree. The Christmas tree farm we usually go to closed down last year so we went to a new (to us) farm.
This is what I got when I asked to take their picture with all the trees. Not exactly what I was going for.
We searched the farm and found this tree. It is 10 feet tall and had a good shape despite a few holes on one side!
The kids with our Christmas tree!
Cason wanted to try to cut it down.
 Timber went the tree!
Heading to the truck.
This is another one of the lovely poses I got when I asked to take their picture.
