Happy 8th Birthday Cason

On March 28th, Cason turned 8!!
He decided that he needed to open a couple of presents before school so he could better concentrate on his school work! Plus we had a long day that day with soccer until 7:30 pm.
Laser Tag for the win!
That afternoon I took ice cream cups and toppings to school for Cason's class to have a late afternoon birthday treat! After school Cason and we ran a few errands before meeting Bradley at Cotton Patch for his birthday dinner. (Emory was on a school field trip until 6:00) Then Cason and I headed to pick up Emory and off soccer we went.
He finished out the night opening the rest of his birthday presents, which included a new sports coat, airsoft gun set, and 2 Nerf guns! (He also opened a new coin set that morning)
He had a great and busy birthday!!

Rodeo Austin & Nac Steer Show

We spent our Spring Break this year showing animals. Emory took Biscuit Bob (BB) to Austin for her first Major Stock Show.
She was in the 13th class (15 total classes) and finished 13th or 14th (depending on who you ask) in her class out of 28. It wasn't the outcome we were hoping for because BB didn't make the sale, but we learned a lot and Emory had fun. We were in Austin Monday and Tuesday of Spring Break, then Thursday the Nacogdoches Steer Show began!
Samson clipped and ready for the show.
Samson was in the English Class and Emory and him did great in the ring. Samson was very nervous about being at the show. He weighed less then what we were hoping for at weigh in and finished 3rd in the class and 22nd overall. (42 Steers overall)
It was a very busy and tiring week but I think we all had fun, plus Samson brought $1600.00 in the sale.

Medieval Feast Day

The first Friday in March was Medieval Feast Day for Emory. The day included skits, presentations, and a huge feast with the Eighth and Eleventh grades.
Fourth grade parents are responsible for decorating for the feast. It took a couple of hours to set up but the kids loved it.
The 4th graders!
They each had to make a shield using symbols they had learned about. Emory worked very hard on her shield.
Mrs. Bryant, the art teacher, turned  the window into a "stain glass" window for the feast. It was beautiful!
The kids ate with their hands of course. They had different kinds of meat, soup, fruit, bread and desserts.
Emory in her medieval costume before school. She had a blast and loved the day!!

Emory's 10th Birthday Party

Emory had a joint birthday this year with her friend and classmate Olivia, whose birthday is the 19th. So the Friday after Emory's birthday we celebrated their birthdays at the new ceramics place in town. We just invited the girls from their class, so it was low key but fun!
It was a unicorn themed party. The girls all got matching shirts and painted unicorns!
After the girls finished painting the unicorns headed to the kiln and they continued celebrating with pizza and cake.
We all had a great time!

Christmas 2018

We had a wonderful Christmas again this year!
Cason decorated the hall for everyone and did a great job!
Pre Christmas eve candlelight service pictures.
Eli fell a sleep on my lap during the candlelight service, so Cason helped me out by lighting and holding my candle for me.
Playing the Saran Wrap Ball game at Aunt Cameron's
Sibling presents Christmas eve after church.
Christmas morning fun!
Baby Jesus in the manger.
Throughout December we read a Bible verse about the birth of Jesus and each verse made a piece of straw for our manger. After we read and talked about the verse we put the hay in the manger. Christmas day was the final verse and we were able to put baby Jesus in the manger.
