Random Fall Happenings

Back in October we purchased a bull. Eli had the honors of naming this cow. He chose Rufus Cobb, but since the bull was already named Bully we went with Bully Rufus Cobb, unless you talk to Eli, then it is just Rufus Cobb.

A doe and her two babies have been living at our house since summer. They paid us a visit one morning and I was able to snap a few pictures before Bo and Gerti chased them down to the barn! 

I heard Bo barking at back door and went and found this. Apparently he was still hungry since he felt the need to bring me his food bowl. 

Cason scored this barely used tape measure at an estate sale. It was half off day so he paid $4.00 for it. He was super excited and proud of his find!

Cason found this brand new trap at a thrift store. He was super excited. He is my thrifting and garage sale buddy! 

FBC Fall Fest

FBC Fall Fest was a hit this year too! Cason worked the 6th grade Trunk or Treat car.  The theme this year for 6th grade was Christmas movies through the years. Cason went as Kevin from Home Alone. 

Eli of course was a cowboy and Emory stayed home this year and caught up on some homework!

Eli had lots of fun playing the games, riding the bull, and bounce housing!

Eli loved this chicken game. You had to find which hen had the golden egg to win!

Cason got a break from his duties of passing out candy and had a little fun too! 

School Barn Dance

The weekend after the fair Emory attended the school's barn dance. She had a blast! 

 

PWF Premium Sale

We finished off fair week with the PWF Premium Sale. Emory placed both her goat and chickens in the sale and Cason placed his chickens.

Cason helped his buddy Cooper out in the ring. Cooper won the lamb show this year!

Both kids had a great fair and earned money towards their college funds! 

Eli, I mean Rufus crashed 10 minutes after getting home and 1 minute after his shower. He was a tired boy after a long eventful week. 

PWF Heifer Show

 Emory finished out the Piney Woods Fair with the heifer show Saturday morning. She and Ellie won Reserve Champion Shorthorn and she was in the final call for Junior Showmanship.

All three kids participated in the goat show again this year, Emory and Cason each showing their goats and Eli in the Pee Wee showmanship.

Emory and Crou placed 5th overall, making the premium sale. 

Shags and Cason did not make the sale, however after Shags got really sick a couple weeks before the fair and nearly died, we were just happy Cason was able to show him. 

Eli then participated in Pee Wee showmanship and did a great job!
