Concan Deer Lease Trip 1

Thanksgiving break we headed west to Concan to the deer lease. We had a great time exporing the lease and Cason was able to get a great 10 point deer too! The landscape and weather were both beautiful and we had fun time! We saw lots of does and turkey's too.

FBC Fall Fest

Eli's Logging at your service! 

Eli wanted to be a logger this year for Fall Fest. I think he made a super cute one! I did not go to Fall Fest because Cason was sick, so we did not get any pictures of him having lots of fun. He did report lots of fun was had though!

 

Pineywoods Fair 2023

The Piney Woods Fair started Wednesday with the broiler show. We did not have a great birds or a great show. Emory lost her best bird just before the show started and placed 27th, just missing the sale. Cason placed 22nd out of 42 pens and thankfully made the premium sale. 

We of course can not spend days at the fair without a few rides. 

We ran into Char and Tatum, two of Eli friends! 

This year Emory and Cason participated in the Ag Mech show. They both received first place ribbons for their projects and both made the Ag Mech sale. 

 

High School Soccer

Emory had a tough soccer season,  they lost quite a bit, but they learned a lot too. They also had lots of fun. Emory started most games as a Freshman and improved a great deal during the season. She plays hard and is not at all intimidated by the much larger boys on the other teams.

Cason's soccer season ended yesterday with a 2nd place finish at the Junior High CSAC District Tournament. It was a long day with four games of soccer but the kids all played hard and had lots of fun!

My favorite shots were these two (above and below) of Cason saving a goal at a district home game. 

He played goalie or forward most of the time, but also play midfield some too. 

 

Fishing at the Farm

Last weekend we went and looked at dad's house and let the kids fish for a few hours. The pond is still down from the drought and Miss Lucy had a little too much fun in the mud. All of the kids caught several fish, but I didn't get any pictures of Emory. Cason caught one fish twice. The first time it took his bait and snapped the line, the second time he caught it and both warms/hooks were in its mouth.
