Astros Game

For Easter we gifted the kids tickets to an Astros game and went yesterday. We had great seats and the boys were able to watch batting practice and each caught a baseball. The Astros got the win too! 

End of Year Awards

Today was the last day of school, the academic awards and the athletic banquet. Eli was recongnized for being 1 of 2 second graders to complete Rocket Math addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. He also received the Terrific Teacher Helper class award and received a certificate for A honor roll. Emory earned Summa Cum Laude and the Augustus Award on the Universal Latin Exam. Cason earned Cum Laude. Cason's house also won the end of year dance/skit, he even had quite the solo. This evening Emory was awarded the Rookie of the Year and the Grit award for high school soccer. All three had a great year and were blessed with wonderful teachers and coaches. 

 

 

 

Spring Concert

Eli had a speaking part this year during the Spring Concert. He instroduced the composer of one of the songs the first and second graders sang. He did a fantastic job!

Second Grade Field Trip to the Strawberry Patch

Yesterday I went with Eli's class to the strawberry patch, the weather was perfect and the kids had a blast picking and sampling fresh from the field strawberries. After picking we had a picnic lunch and then headed back to the school. Eli loved it!

Big Serve

This year for Big Serve I worked with 2nd grade filling in many many holes and replacing nets at the soccer fields. The kids and parents all worked hard, after a morning of works the kids had a picnic and then headed back to school for a little fun. They had popsicles, snow cones, played games and face painting.

Junior High Track

Cason participated in track this year. He ran a couple different races, but then discovered that he really liked shot put, placing 4th in the 7th grade boys category at the district meet. He also really loves socalizing and being silly, but we already knew that.
