Summer Weekend Getaway

The first weekend in August we took a little weekend vacation to Glen Rose and Waco. Bradley took off Friday and we headed out Thursday after he got off of work. Our first stop was Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose.
The park was absolutely beautiful and I want to go back in the fall when we can camp comfortably.
In this section of the river you could cross by using these rocks.
The water was cold and the current strong in some areas along the river. It was so pretty!
A couple of the dinosaur footprints that are in and along the river.
We arrived early at the park and spent the morning exploring the park and walking the river bank and surrounding trails. We ate lunch in the park by the playground and made a visit to the gift store before leaving.
We found a tree that had fallen over but continued to grow and decided to snap a picture.
By the gift store are two huge dinosaurs that came from one of the Worlds Fairs.

Cason bought himself a squirrel at the Dino Valley gift store...because a squirrel is just what he needed.

Days of Summer

Today is the last day of summer vacation with school starting tomorrow, so I thought I would share a few pictures from the past few months.
We spent many days at the SFA pool swimming.
We adopted a little puppy named Sophie, but sadly she got sick from Parvo and passed away a few days later. We are looking at adopting again soon.

Emory got her braces off!
More swimming with friends.
We went to SFA and watched Stuart Little performed by the drama students.
Cason went to the waterpark a couple of times with his buddies.
Emory got a shorter hairdo this summer, cutting off 6 plus inches.
We kept Miss Avery Kay while Cameron and Noah attended SFA freshman orientation. This is how she feel a sleep. It may me laugh!
And more pool time!

First days of Summer

It pretty much rained the first two weeks of summer but despite the rain we managed to stay fairly busy.
Playing John Deere-opoly, which the kids got as an end of school year present from Aunt Shirley.
Eli went shopping at Harbor Freight and used his gift card on some new toys.
Emory found a three legged chicken.
The kids picked out new bathroom stuff for their bathroom. It took a bit, but they reached an agreement on blue and white.
We made the trek out to Mason and picked up Emory's new lamb Macadamia Nut (Mac) and Cason's new goat Sasquatch Pinto II (Squatchy).

Pre-K Graduation & Academic Awards

Thursday after school ended we attended Eli's Pre-K graduation and the Academic Awards Ceremony.
Eli received his "diploma" from Mrs. V and he was so proud of it.
Emory and Cason each received academic awards this year. Emory for earning all A's and Cason for earning all A's and no more than two B's this year.
Despite the craziness that was this school year, from COVID, to hurricanes, to 7 inches of snow, to the icepocalypse, the kids all had a great year, which I am very thankful for!
