We started our vacation off Monday morning by heading to Kingsville to tour the King Ranch. Before the tour we did a little shopping at the King Ranch Saddle Shop.
The tour of the ranch is a bus tour and last about 2 hours. It was long but the kids seemed to enjoy learning about the ranch and seeing all the wild life. We saw horses, cows, wild turkeys, coyotes, and deer.

This was the Kings carriage house and it was huge. Back before the ranch was called the King Ranch it was called the Santa Gertrudis Ranch.
Another view of the carriage barn.
A few hundred cacti!
Eli slept for the first part of the tour.

Then he woke up and enjoyed the ride!

They are a little blurry but there are two wild turkeys.
The main house.
We only rode by the side of it and it is huge, so I was unable to get it all in one picture. The family still comes and stays at the house.
Part of the old horse barn when they used to be big in horse racing. We saw the old jockey quarters too!
We enjoyed the tour of the ranch and were all glad it was an air conditioned bus because it was hot!
