Our Little Helper

Sunday afternoon Emory helped Bradley and I around the house.

She cleaned the floors.

and again....

and again. She loves to be pushed on this thing!

She also helped with the laundry. She has become quite the little helper and always seems to be right by mine or her daddy's side.

Check out that hair. It has such static electricity and pretty much stands up when it get close to anything.

 

Valentine's Day

Sunday Emory woke up, snuggled with mommy and daddy and then opened her Valentine's present. She loves dogs so I found this cute little purple dog card.

I think she found it to be quite interesting. I just loved this face, it cracks me up.

Wow! A new shirt....

and crayons and a red teddy bear!

I think she loved her presents and has already colored with and ate some of the crayons! Yes, while coloring she bit the top right off the red crayon and Mommy had to dig it out of her mouth. Which has become quite painful given she is working on her 10th tooth and likes to bite down when fingers are in her mouth!

Boy or Girl?

My sister-in-law is pregnant with her first baby and on Monday they found out that they were having a................

GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!

They estimated that she weighed around 10 ounces and was growing strong and healthy. I am so excited for Rachel and Andrew and that Emory will have a cousin so close in age. I am sure the girls will grow to be close and have lots of fun together. We can't wait to me her!

Winter Wonderland

While I was getting ready for work on Thursday it started snowing and I got excited because Emory would get to experience snow, which is rare in East Texas. But by the time we got home that evening what snow had fallen was gone. Then around 6:30 that evening it started to snow and was still snowing when we woke up Friday morning.

We woke up to 8 inches of snow and no electricity. This is what our front yard looked like. All the schools were closed so Bradley was off and my office delayed opening till 1:00, so I decided to take the day off. So we bundled Emory up and went out to play!

The snow was so heavy that it snapped limbs and even some trees, like this one in the backyard.

Friday was also Bradley's birthday and we got to spend it together playing in the snow. Our electricity finally came back on about 11:00 pm Friday night, which was great because the house had become quite cold except for the living room which had a fire going in the fireplace. We even had snow still ground this morning, but it started to melt this afternoon when the sun came out.

Emory's First Ear Infection

Our weekend started off great. Saturday morning Emory woke up in a great mood. I fixed her scrambled eggs and cheese for breakfast, which she loved. She was really hungry and ate two whole eggs scrambled, plus a bowl of apple sauce for dessert!

She will not put down her spoon when she is eating. She even holds it while drinking from her sippy cup!

After breakfast Emory and I headed to town and did some shopping at Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart. While in Hobby Lobby Emory picked out the cutest little Easter basket. It is a pink bunny with floppy ears and she loved it. She held on to it and loved on it the whole time we were in the store. After shopping we came home and it was time for a nap and then snacks!

Emory had sugar free jello and crackers. She wanted the crackers in addition to her jello. This kid loves crackers. She even goes to the pantry door and points and says get get. So Emory ate her crackers and jello!

Then she helped me with laundry. Since she was big enough to sit I have carried her in the laundry basket when doing laundry. We load the clothes then Emory and head to the laundry room. Then she "helps" me put the clothes in the washer. She has really become quite the helper and even puts her dirty clothes in her basket (which she is sitting in) before her bath.

Then Sunday morning Emory woke up with a low grade fever and not feeling her best. By Sunday afternoon her fever has skyrocketed to 104.5 and she was miserable. After a cool bath and more Tylenol it came down to 102 and pretty much stayed around 102 - 103.5 all night. So Monday morning we headed to the doctor and learned that Emory had her first ear infection.

Here she is Monday afternoon watching TV in her bean bag with Dot, Dot's big sister (she has not named this one yet) and Pooh. These are her comfort items and she wanted all three because she felt so bad.

On normals days, Dot stays home and Pooh and Dot's big sister go with her to daycare. (So I can get Dot clean)

Then Tuesday afternoon rolled around and Emory was fever free and feeling MUCH better. She was still a little fussy, especially when her ear bothered her. But she felt well enough to run and "hide" from mommy.

Her she is "hiding" under the bar stool. She ran from me when I said, "lets go change your diaper." You notice that Dot is right by her side.

We even played hair dresser! Here she is with her first ponytail!

She has learned to climb onto her cube and thinks it is fun to just sit there.

All Because of Cheese

The other night I fixed Emory a plate of food for dinner of carrots, ham, and cheese. Well Emory loves cheese and immediately ate it all gone. She however was not satisfied with the amount of cheese she had and this is what happened when Bradley and I told her she had to eat the rest of her food before she could have more cheese.

Mad, is an understatement for the way she acted. It was bad. We had to remove her plate from her highchair because she tried to throw it.

She screamed and pointed at the fridge (where she saw me put the cheese) saying get, get. She carried on like this for several minutes and got so worked up that I had to pick her up and hold her to calm her down. After she calmed down she went on to eat most of her ham and a few carrots, but my oh my what a temper!

An Under the Weather Weekend

This past weekend we were all a little under the weather. Bradley and Emory both had colds and my sinus infection reared its ugly head again. So, needless to say we all were lazy all weekend.

I decided to try this little headband on Emory to see if it finally fit. I bought several of them before she was even born and they were suppose to be size newborn, but they just now fit her head. She has a very small head so that might be why. Anyway I am determined for her to wear bows again, and since she won't leave her little clip bows in her hair I thought I would try the headbands. She did not seem to mind it!
