Saturday Morning Photo Shoot

Saturday morning while trying to get Emory dressed she decided she HAD to get her picture taken with her brother. After several attempts to redirect Emory failed, I grabbed my camera and starting shooting.

Here she is loving on Cason.

And loving on her doggie!

Then she wanted her picture taken with her baby doll and Cason.

Big Cheese!

And hiding. Emory LOVES to hide, which usually means covering up her eyes, although sometimes she will actually hide somewhere.

Heat Wave

Emory has been begging to play outside all weekend, but the 103 degree (107 heat index) weather and smoke filled air from the numerous wild fires around East Texas has kept us inside most of the weekend or week for that matter. The smoke was much much better this evening, so Bradley broke out the waterslide.

Emory sitting on her new picnic table waiting on the waterslide.

Going down the water slide. She did not want to slide down on her belly so instead ran down it.

Telling me she "did it!"

She was not a huge fan of the waterslide mostly because she did not like getting grass on her. So we decided to get out her little pool instead.

She "swam," watered the plants with her bucket, and washed her picnic table.

Cason spent the evening sleeping in his swing. Notice the pacifier is not in his mouth. He takes after his big sister and is not a fan of the pacifier either. I am still trying to make him into a fan, but he spits it out just as fast as I put it in.

Father's Day Weekend

Happy Father's Day! Emory and Cason made Bradley this coffee mug at Ms. Betty's. I think it will make an excellent pencil holder since Bradley does not drink coffee, plus I wouldn't want to mess up those little hands and feet. Too precious.

My parents came for a quick visit yesterday afternoon and ended up staying the night. So this morning I made cinnamon rolls for Bradley and dad. Emory enjoyed them too!

Cason watched while enjoying his hand. He has started chewing on his hands. He nearly choked himself the other day trying to stuff his hand in his mouth!

Hi mom!

After breakfast Emory and Pawpaw built a tower. Emory loves building towers just about as much as she loves knocking them down!

We had a quick but fun visit with Grandma and Pawpaw!

And here is my big boy Friday night just before his bath watching his first Braves game. Baseball fascinated Emory when she was little too. I guess it is the background noise, but Cason was intrigued and seemed to enjoy it!

Blueberry Festival

This morning we took the kids to the Blueberry Festival downtown. They had a great kids area this year that included bouncy houses, bouncy water slides, horse rides, a petting zoo, and arts and craft area. Emory had a blast and did it all! We really did not shop any because by the time we did everything at the kids area it was way too hot to shop, at least for me. So we loaded up and headed over to McDonald's for lunch. Emory's favorite place to eat! ha! Then we headed home for naps, or I should say to continue the naps started in the car. I did not take any pictures at the festival but Ms. Emory wanted to take her picture with her pink balloon in her Dora princess dress after her nap! So without further ado here she is!

She would NOT lower the balloon. It had to be tall she said!

And here is Cason fast asleep in his swing. All that stroller riding can wear a boy out!

The Things You Do And Say

Emory is at an age where she can be super funny, super sweet, and super naughty all in the same minute. Her new silly thing to do is walk backwards. I am not sure where this idea came from but she thinks it is hysterical to walk backwards. She also learned the phrase "freeze hold it right there" from one of the little boys at Ms. Betty's. So now when she does not want you to do something she says, "freeze hold it right there."

She loves to sing and her favorite songs right now are, The wheels on the bus, This little light of mine, He's got the whole world in his hands, and Joy joy down in my heart. She knows her numbers 1-10, recognizes her name in print, can say a-d of the ABCs, and can identify some colors. She tends to still be stubborn with her colors because she wants every color to be purple. It use to be yellow, but purple is her new favorite color.

She is scared of thunder and tends to get nervous when the "naughty" characters in a movie are being bad. She is really getting into Disney movies and her current favorites are, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, and 101 Dalmatians. She also likes Annie. Speaking of The Little Mermaid, she now loves mermaids and pretends to be one daily. The other night I had to make her a tail to wear so she could be a mermaid and swim on top of the coffee table.

She loves horses, riding her "motorcycle" aka a tricycle, and swimming in her little pool. Her new favorite game to play is hide-n-seek and she is still in love with puzzles and coloring. She still loves tutu's and playing dress up, but is just as happy digging in the dirt. She loves "putting" on make-up with me and has thrown the occasional fit because I will not take the lid off "her" mascara. She's two and knows where mascara goes. ha! She is always coming up with something out of the blue, like this afternoon when she told her Daddy she wanted to go to the store and buy some tools!

Two Peas In A Pod

Emory Grace & Cason Bradley

Emory loves taking her picture with her little brother.

And she loves giving him loves, however I am not sure Cason is as thrilled about getting the loves and kisses from her. I love the look on his face.

Cason frowning, I have baby pictures of Emory making the exact face.

Here is Emory lifting "weights" in her Tinkerbell fairy outfit declaring she is strong. We discussed it and decided she is strong because she ate peaches today at lunch!

Cason smiling for the camera.

And this one just makes me laugh!

Name That Face

I love expressions. I have an abundance of pictures of the many "faces" of Emory and hope to capture Cason's as well. Emory is like me and wears her emotions on her face so I have been able to catch some great faces. Cason is a little harder because he is not a fan of the flash on the camera and tends to frown right when I snap the camera. Today I was able to capture a few "faces" throughout the day!

Mr. Grumpy pants!

Dont't Mess With Me!

Happy Baby

Enough Mom

Smile fading to frown, again the flash.

Sweetie pie with a farmer's tan! ha!
