Hair Curlers

Last Sunday Emory asked me to roll her hair before church. She was so excited about it and asked me to take her picture and send it to Grandma so she could see her curlers. After we took the rollers out she told me that no one was going to recognize her at church because her hair was curly! She is such a mess!

Pumpkin Patch 2013

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the cool crisp air, the changing leaves, colorful mums, and of course pumpkins! Today we took the kids to the pumpkin patch to take a few fall pictures. It was a little chilly outside and Miss Emory got cold not long after we got there so her smile faded fast.
Emory wanted to take a few silly pictures.
I love his big smile!
She has had this expression since the day she was born!

Emory's First Report Card

Emory brought home her first report card today and I opened it with mixed emotions. On one hand I was excited to see her progress but on the other hand receiving it reminded me that she is growing up and no longer my baby girl.
I am one proud Mama!
Emory is doing fantastic in school and I feel like she has adjusted well. She loves to learn and is having fun!
After I took Emory's picture Cason wanted to take one with his powpow (hammer). So here he is saying cheese!

Pineywoods Fair 2013

It's fair week in Nacogdoches! The kids and I went Wednesday and Thursday night and of course Bradley has been there all week. Wednesday night Rachel, Mckenzie, Lincoln, Mimi, & Peepaw joined us and Thursday Alpie drove over and got to hang out at the fair with us for a little while.
The Petting Zoo was full of animals.

Emory wants her Daddy to build her one of these so she can practice her roping.
Riding the merry-go-round with Daddy!
We ran into Emory's friend Jocelyn at the fair and the kids rode the jeep ride with her. They had a blast!
Riding the choo choo train! Cason choo chooed and all abroad the entire ride!
My sweet little boy!
Emory rode her first roller coaster and she loved it! She was all smiles the entire time and said it was her favorite ride at the fair.
Cason liked riding the train!
Cason liked the pigs and cows. Here he is posing with one of Bradley's students pig. Bradley asked Cason if he wanted to get in the pin with the pig and Cason said, "NO, it will eat me!"

Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Today Emory and I went on her first school field trip. The field trip was to the Moore Pumpkin Patch in Bullard and included the Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade classes.
Emory's Pre-K class (minus one).
As you can see it is extremely hard to get all these kids looking in one direction, especially when the sun is bright and in their eyes!
Emory and her friend Jocelyn who is in her class.

The kids trying to pull an old plow through the ground.
We took a hay ride to the pumpkin patch and then everyone got to pick a pumpkin to keep. Emory picked out this pumpkin and then another one for Cason. She surprised him with it when we got home.
After we did all the activities we had a picnic lunch before heading home. The weather was beautiful and the kids all had a great time. I on the other hand am wore out and ready for bed!

Masterpieces

Saturday afternoon we went and checked out the new Atwoods store in town and found these big coloring posters. Since I was still recovering from my surgery I thought the posters would be a great low key activity we could do together. Emory picked out the farm one and Cason the truck. Emory went right to work when we got home.
Here she is giving me sass because I am taking her picture.
And then she of course had to be silly. It took us two days to color the poster and in that time Emory colored several AB patterns (she is a little sponge at school-soaks up everything) and informed me that my animals were boring and not colorful enough. Hence her rainbow horse below and colorful sky because colorful is better then blue!
Mine & Emory's Masterpiece!

This little man picked the truck poster and was super excited when we opened it up and discovered it was a fire truck!
We are still working on Cason's masterpiece but I will post a picture of the finished product when we get it finished.
