THREE COUSINS IN THE TUB!!

Spring Break

This spring break was all about working with a little fun sprinkled in too! We have been busy getting the new pasture ready for grass to be planted, which translates to picking up and burning lots and lots of sticks.  I had to work Monday - Wednesday but did take off Thursday and Friday. The plan was to go to Cameron's for a visit but she ended up coming to our house with Maddie on Friday because Blake got a nasty stomach bug. So Thursday I took the kids to McDonalds to eat and then we headed to the Ellen Trout Zoo in Lufkin.

He was one of the few animals that was not sleeping while we were there!

This peacock was far off but I was able to get a picture of it with it's wings spread. By the time we got closer he had closed them up. 

This tortoise was smiling at us! Cason really liked the "big turtles."

 

Cameron and Maddie came on Friday (Noah was at his Dad's). We went to lunch at Newks and then on to the park to play! 

 We attempted to take a group picture. These two were the best!

We had a fun but quick visit with Cameron and Madison! That about sums up our Spring Break. Now to get ready for a certain little boys 3rd birthday!!!  

Garden Prep

Saturday afternoon we went to work building the first of four (hopefully) raised beds for our garden. We moved the garden this year to its permanent spot, which is behind the new garage.

Emory definitely "broke in" her new capri's. She was covered in dirt from head to toe!

Cason got a bobo a few days ago at Ms. Betty's on his forehead and insisted on wearing a band aid Saturday. He said he needed to stop the blood that did not exist.

Quick Trip To Luling

Since I was in San Antonio for a meeting the week of Valentines Day and Bradley had to be there that Sunday for the Livestock Show we decided to go to Rachel and Andrew's for a little visit. The kids had a blast playing with each other.

This picture pretty much sums up Cason loves! Nakedness and BIG trucks. All that is missing is a big green tractor and his tools.

We had a quick but fun visit! Thank you Rachel and Andrew for having us!

My Valentines

I know Valentines Day is over but I wanted to document a few special valentines the kids made this year.

 Emory made this lovely wreath at church.

Cason made me a beautiful bouquet of flowers. He was very proud of them so we had to put them in a vase and on the kitchen table!

Emory also gave us a little box wrapped in shiny gold paper and a big bow. The box had a note attached with a the following message:

This is a very special gift

That you can never see

The reason that it's special

It's just for you from me

Whenever you are lonely

Or when you're feeling blue

You only have to hold this

gift and know I think of you

You never can unwrap it

Please leave the ribbon tied

Just hold this box close to your heart

It's filled with love inside!

This morning she saw the box and said, "Mom don't ever open this box, because you will let all my love out!"

I also had to include Emory's valentine bag she made at school. She thinks the fact that she did not put the eyelashes in the right place is hysterical. The eyelashes are over the nose and on/under one eye in case you are wondering! She of course had to make a face....she is all about making faces right now! The sillier the better!

 

Ice & Valentines

Tuesday afternoon it started to sleet/freezing rain and continued most of the night. We lost power the first time around 5:00 pm and then again around 11:30 pm. It was cold when we woke up Wednesday morning to no electricity.  I was supposed to be in San Antonio for a meeting by 1:00 that afternoon but was not able to leave until 10:00 due to all the ice. School was delayed for both Emory and Bradley so we just hung out in front the fireplace until it was time to get ready.

That is all ice.

Bradley and the kids are meeting me at Rachel's friday and then he is leaving for San Antonio and the Livestock Show, so we gave the kids their Valentines presents Tuesday night in between power outages. 

They each got a bubble wand, balloon, and a new little lamp. 

Cason got a tractor and Emory a horse. They loved them! 

The kids put their lanterns to use during the power outage. We ate dinner with them and then breakfast! Then they used them to get ready for the day!

Thankfully I had just bought cereal so the kids were able to eat something for breakfast!! I think the kids liked the electricity being out more than me!

Hats & Silliness

Last week Emory's class celebrated the 100th day of school with a party. Her class made hats! Each band of paper has 10 items on it and there are 10 bands, so the hat literally has 100 things on it. Needless to say it is a little top heavy, but you get the picture!

Cason was all about hats last week too. He insisted his cowboy hat hang from his bed in case he needed it, it would be close by. He loves hats and usually has one on. He calls all his winter hats "cold hats" and named his baseball caps "home hats." We have no idea why, but that is what he calls them!

Thursday evening the sillies came out and both Emory and Cason were little goof boxes!

Cason thought sticking his foot up in front of the camera was hilarious!
