Santa Land 2014

Last night we went to Santa Land, which has become a family tradition. We got there about 4:45 and there were already about 100 cars in front of us, but they opened the gates about 5:45 and we were in by 6:00. The kids entertained themselves by playing outside, on the iPad, and singing songs.

 After Texas you enter the area where they tell the story of Jesus. I did not get pictures of everything but it starts with Mary and Joseph walking up to the inn and then ends with Jesus ascending into Heaven.

This is my favorite scene at Santa Land. I wish I could get a better picture but the lights reflect off the lake, plus the moving car does not help either. The figure on the right is Jesus carrying his cross.

After Santa Land we went and ate at Cracker Barrel and then headed home. The kids had fun again this year and love going!!

Christmas Numero Uno

Friday evening we celebrated Christmas at Mimi and Pawpaw's.

Cason and Lincoln each got harmonica's in their stockings from Mimi & Pawpaw. Looking at all these pictures it ended up being a very musical Christmas! They kids had a great time opening presents and playing with their new things.



Emory's School Party

Emory had her party at school Friday and I signed up for a salty treat at the beginning of the year. I ran across snowman popcorn cups on Pintrest and Thursday evening Emory, Aunt Rachel and I went to work. Emory helped with the carrot noses, smile and buttons.

The kids had a gift exchange at the party. The boys bought a boy gift and the girls a girl gift then Mrs. Smith read a story that had a lot of "lefts" and "rights" in it and the kids all passed the gifts around to either the right or left. When the story was over they got to open the gift they were holding. Emory got makeup and was thrilled.


Emory bought gifts for her two teachers but we got Mrs. Moore who is the office manager and who Emory visits regularly for peppermints a little something too. She loves Diet Coke as much as Bradley so we made Diet Coke reindeer for her! 

I think they turned out cute despite having to use green for the antlers. The brown pipe cleaners were sold out everywhere I went.

Christmas Trees 2014

We have four Christmas trees this year!

I decided last year to make Cason's old little tree into the "homemade" ornament tree and we put it in the dining room this year.

 The homemade tree is full of all the "ornaments" the kids have made over the years. We have little ornaments and big ornaments this year. I have added a few since this picture was taken because both Emory and Cason brought home ornaments today.

 Cason made this Santa ornament this year. He did a great job on it and only had help with the white on Santa's hat.

 Emory made these two ornaments this year. The top one is made from beads and then baked to look like stained glass.

 Then there is the BIG Christmas tree.

 Every year I buy a hallmark ornament. My mom started the tradition back before I was born and I have carried it on. This year the kids and I decided on this Mickey and Minnie ornament because we went to Disney World this summer.

The kids each have both of their trees in their room again this year, but I didn't get pictures of those. 

A Reel to Real Christmas

 Last night we went to the Christmas program at church, A Reel to Real Christmas. The program started with scenes from different Christmas movies and then ended with the story of Jesus' birth.

 Before the program started the children's choir sang on the front steps as people entered the building.

 Emory and Cason singing Joy to the World, which is one of Cason's favorite songs.

 Both Emory and Cason were in the Polar Express scene. They sang the hot chocolate song from the movie. The kids sang in the aisles like in the movie when the they sing in the aisles of the train. This was the only picture I could get of them singing because they were both looking in front the entire time and busy doing their hand motions.

Both Emory and Cason did a great job and had fun!
