Blueberry Festival 2017

This year we didn't get to the blueberry festival until after lunch so we decided not to do the water slides and just check out the other activities. Cason and Emory both had a blast on the obstacle course. They each ran it several times.
They each got to pick two activities to do and of course Emory choose the rock wall.
Eli liked watching Emory climb! She made it all the way to the top without hesitation. She was a natural!
They both had to do these bounce balls. They had a blast running into each other! They also each tried the giant hamster wheel.
Cason next rode the train!
Ford had this virtual simulator truck that simulated driving through bumpy terrain. It rocked side to side and went up and down.
Cason was not in a good mood and this was the best he would give me!

14 Months Old

Eli Grant you are 14 months old today!
You are such a sweetie pie! You love to give hugs and kisses. You are also a little goof ball. You love to laugh and you think Emory and Cason are hilarious. Your favorite thing to do right now is talk on the phone. You will talk and talk until I have to take the phone away. You also love riding in the shopping cart.
You are still wearing 12 and 18 months clothes, size 3 and 4 shoes, and a size 5 diaper. You weigh around 25 lbs. You can say Mama, Dada, mine, hi, doe doe (pacifier), all done, yeah, baa (you talk back to the goat) and no but it sounds like na. You have 12 teeth and you are always on the go!
You also love to eat! You are a very good eater and other than ice cream you have loved everything you have tried. Your favorite foods are any kind of bean and blueberries. You are enjoying blueberry pancakes in the above picture (from the blueberries we picked). You are a cutie patootie and we love you very much!

Academic Awards

Last night was the academic awards ceremony. Cason received a perfect attendance award as well as his Kindergarten diploma He is officially a first grader! Emory received a Summa Cum Laude metal for making all A's all year! We are very proud of them both!!

Berry Picking

Thursday morning we went to a farm outside of Carthage and picked blueberries and blackberries. The kids had a great time picking berries. The farm was very nice and had a wonderful store where they sold all kinds of goodies. We came home with homemade jam and salsa.
This morning we made blueberry pancakes with our freshly picked berries and this little fellow LOVED them!

Last Day of School

Tuesday was the last day of school. Cason was all smiles but Emory woke up a little sad that the school year was over. Cason's teachers got all the kids a sand bucket filled with things to keep them busy this summer. Mrs. Duke and Mrs. Baker did to much. There were 6 books, a jump rope, instructions, dice and cards to math games they learned this year, "book" gummy worms to eat while reading, lemonade for the hot days of summer, and worksheets! Cason was so excited!
Cason and Mrs. Duke.
Emory managed to muster a little smile. She was so upset by the time we got in the car that I decided to treat them to pizza. So we called Bradley and he met us for lunch. My big girl loves school and her friends.
Cason and his best big buddy Wesley. Wesley is graduating and Cason is going to miss him next year.
Pizza Hut buffet helped Emory to fill a little better.

Ninja Turtles

Monday evening Cason had his last soccer game of the season. He has really enjoyed playing this year and is eager to play next year.
The Ninja Turtles.
Silly Faces!
Cason's team won a few games and the boys got better as the season went on.
My little goof ball!
Post game pizza party!

Second Grade Fied Trip

On Monday Eli and I went with Emory's class to the Houston Museum Of Natural Science. Emory's class has been learning about Ancient Egypt all year so their teacher decided to end the school year seeing the Egypt exhibit.
The 2nd grade class (minus Will)
They were all so excited to see up close all the different things they have been learning about.
It was very dark in the exhibit hall and I couldn't use a flash so the pictures I was able to take are a little blurry.
We also went through the butterfly exhibit and learned about all kinds of bugs! The outside habitat was very pretty and HOT and HUMID. We were able to see all kinds of different butterflies, several even landed on us as we walked through.
Eli had fun playing with buttons!
A few friends on a giant caterpillar!
We were also able to go through the dinosaur exhibit. Emory was amazed at how big they were.
The woolly mammoth was Emory's favorite. I liked the giant armadillo.
All the kids had a great time at the museum!
