Thanksgiving (take two)

Bright and early Wednesday morning we loaded up and headed to my parents for Thanksgiving on my side of the family. Emory woke up Thanksgiving morning with a nasty cold and fever, but after some medicine, a good nap, and a little TLC she was feeling better. She really enjoyed playing with Noah and the two of them are quite the pair. They really feed off of each other which equates to loud craziness!
Here they are posing with the furry things (can't remember what those things are called).
Noah was going in for the bunny ears!
This picture makes me smile!

Bradley was giving me bunny ears, which Emory thought was hysterical!
In the town my parents live in they have carriage rides around downtown on the weekends during the Christmas season. So Friday evening we took Emory to ride in the carriage and see the Christmas lights. She is not crying, just had a major case of watery eyes thanks to her cold. Let's just say Emory's new favorite things are Christmas lights and trees. She loves them and thinks they are amazing.
After the carriage ride, the owner gave Emory a cookie to give to the horsee. Apparently this horse is a softy for cookies. Here she is with her Pawpaw giving him the cookie.

Thanksgiving (take one)

This past weekend we had Thanksgiving on Bradley's side of the family. It was great visiting with his uncles and spending time with Rachel, Andrew, and little Mckenzie. I wish I could report that Emory or "Miss That's Mine" was well behaved, but unfortunately the combination of having a little cold, being incredibly sleepy from back to back late nights, and being smack dab in the middle of the "that's mine" phase took its

I love this picture!
Emory was tired and not in the mood to get her picture taken. This was the best I could do.
Later that day, Aunt Rachel brought up one of the new horses, whose name has escaped my brain, but Emory enjoyed petting the horsee.

22 Months Old

Emory Grace, today you are 22 months old. You are growing up so quickly and acting more and more like a little girl rather than a toddler. You are absolutely hysterical, a little dramatic at times and very curious. You love helping others, shopping, and riding your car and tricycle outside. You recently learned to say and recognize Wal-Mart or Al-Mart as you call it, probably because we go at least weekly. You are wearing size 18 month clothes, size 4 & 5 shoes, and a size 4 pull-up. You tend to be a little opinionated and definitely know what you want and like.

Favorite Foods- cheese, Pace picante sauce (mild), tomatoes, & beans (all kinds)
Favorite New Phrase- “What’s that” (you want to know what everything is)
Favorite Activity- Coloring & Riding in Mimi’s Gator
Favorite Cartoon- Caillou
Newest Concern- The dark (All of sudden you do not care for the dark. You also think you need a flashlight when going into a dark room)
Newest Accomplishment- Putting on your shoes all by yourself!
Emory you are going to make a wonderful big sister to your new little baby brother.
You also love to play with your dolly's.
Wearing your dolly's crown.
You had your first major bobo this weekend which required a few band aids. You were running full speed ahead while trying to take off your jacket and fell down on the tile floor in the kitchen and busted your chin. Here you are eating animal cookies in your chair showing me your bobo.

The Box

Friday I received some items I had ordered for Christmas presents and decided to let Emory "have at it" with the box and shipping noodles. Let's just they were a hit!
At first she was a little hesitant but that lasted for just a minute...
and then she was full speed ahead!
She threw noodles,
kicked noodles, and
then threw them some more.
She had so much fun that she decided to jump back in after her bath and play some more.

So Grown Up

It seems like Emory is coming up with something new daily now. Last week she started saying "oh man" or as Emory says "oooh maaannn." She uses it in context too and is so cute when she says it. Her other new thing is to say "ok mama" or "ok daddy" when we tell, ask, or explain something to her. Needless to say we have been hearing alot of ok' s around our house. She also has started to really take an interest in letters. We are currently working on spelling her name, which she can do with help, but she really likes the letter R and likes to jump immediately to it after the E.
Emory loves to build towers with her Daddy. She has gotten quite good at stacking Lego's and blocks and stacked 8 blocks all by herself the other night. Here is one of her masterpieces! This was snapped just before she knocked it over, which is what she does after she builds them. Then she proceeds to say, "Uh oh tower broken," like it was an accident or something. Such a mess! She is also very into coloring in her coloring books. Last Sunday Emory and I colored most of the afternoon. She is such a little girl now which is both sad and exciting. It's exciting because this is a really fun age, but I still miss my baby girl. Thank goodness she still shows up from time to time needing a little babying from her Mommy!
I had to include this picture because this face has ATTITUDE written all over it. She had just "stolen" her Daddy's pen and paper and from the look on her face had no plans on giving it back.

Halloween Weekend

Friday Emory had her little Halloween party at daycare and came home with lots of goodies and these icky eyeball glasses that she thinks are hysterical. Here she is riding her cow Saturday morning in her pj's wearing the eyeball glasses. Ms. Betty said that she took pictures and would be printing some for the parents. I can't wait to see Emory and all her daycare friends dressed up in their costumes.
Later that afternoon we ran over to Lufkin to do some shopping and then headed back to Nacogdoches for Scare on the Square that evening, which is a fall fest our town has. We were half way to Lufkin when I remembered I forgot my camera. So needless to say no pictures of Scare on the Square this year.
I did manage to get one after we got home, but it was late and Emory was not in the best of moods, as it was well past her bed time. So here is my little ballerina after a fun filled day. Don't let this picture fool you, she went into melt down mode just as soon as I snapped it!

Dress Rehearsal

I am out of town this week with work and Emory has her little Halloween party at daycare this Friday, so I figured I needed to make sure her ballerina outfit still fit this weekend before I left. She loves being a ballerina and twirled and twirled around. She then decided to put on her high heels, play her drum, and put on a little show. She loves to wear her high heels too and walks really well in them.
Twirling around!
This is her ballerina pose.
Putting on a show for me! She loves to entertain.
