Cold Bug & Santa Claus

Emory and Cason both came down with colds a few days ago and have not felt well the past few days. Thankfully they are both feeling much better. Emory still has a red sore nose. She told me her nose was just like Rudolph's except her nose is not a lamp! Ha!

 Last night we took the kids to go see Santa. Emory said she wanted to go but when it was her turn to sit on Santa's lap she wanted nothing to do with him and would not go anywhere near him. She later told us she was scared. Cason was okay sitting on his lap until Santa took his thumb out of his mouth for the picture... oh my... he did NOT like that. We did manage to get one so so picture of Cason with Santa. Other than the trip to see Santa we have pretty much stayed at home the last couple of days.

Emory being silly after dinner last night

Yesterday morning Emory felt the need to put on every single purse/bag she owns. She told me she was going shopping at the store.

Cason is in to everything these days. He loves to stand and "walked" all the way around the coffee table yesterday!

Emory still shopping. She then proceeded to take everything she bought to her "house," which happened to be Cason's crib. She had everything but the kitchen sink in there!

More Christmas Tree Pics

Today after we got home from church I attempted to take pictures of Emory and Cason in front of the Christmas tree again. With Bradley's help I was able to get a few smiles from Emory, now if I can just get her to look at the camera.

 Cason of course found a bow as soon as I sat him down and the only way I could keep him still was to let him keep it. He looks like a little present all wrapped up! Ha! I was hoping to get pictures of the both of them all dressed up after church, but Cason spit up all over himself on the way home. I will be so glad when he is done teething and spitting up. His 7th tooth (3rd bottom) just made its way through with more on the way!

Christmas Party

Friday Emory and Cason had their Christmas party at Ms. Betty's. Emory was super excited about the party and about taking her friends their presents. She had initially picked out 4-wheelers and basket ball goals for her friends but thankfully settled on goody bags full of tre ats! I tried to take pictures before they left for Ms. Betty's, but getting good pictures is difficult as it is so trying to get one at 6:45 in morning was wishful thinking.

 I managed to get one semi smile out of Emory by letting her take a picture of Dot.

Ms. Betty said the kids had a blast at their party and they came home with all kinds of goodies.

Chirstmas Tree PJ Pics

Tonight I attempted to get pictures of Emory and Cason in front of the Christmas tree. I was not to successful due to Cason eating bows and crawling away and Emory being Emory. I did not even attempt to try to get a picture of the two of them together, but hopefully I will get at least one good one of them together before the tree comes down!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Christmas Cookies

Sunday afternoon Emory begged to make Christmas cookies. I hadn't planned on making cookies this early but did have a sugar cookie mix in the pantry, so with borrowed powdered sugar and green food coloring from Mimi for the icing we went to work.

 Emory stirred

 and stirred.

 Cason snacked and watched.

Then it was time to roll out the dough or as Emory said "steam roll" the dough.

 When she was done steam rolling she made reindeer (aka horsee), snowman, and Christmas tree cookies with Daddy's help.

 Cason finished his snack and decided it was time to play!

 Then it was time to decorate the cookies. Emory decided her horsee (reindeer) needed to be purple..... 

 and then blue with white sprinkles of course.

 We did manage to decorate some in Christmas colors!

Santa Land 2011

Saturday we took the kids to Santa Land. This year we made sure we were there by 5:30 pm (they open at 6:00 pm). It was a good thing we got there when we did because the line quickly grew. Thankfully we were not to far back in line and only had to wait about 20 minutes because they opened the gates a little early. This definitely beat the nearly 3 hour wait last year.

 Emory was super excited about going to Santa Land.

 I tried to get a good picture of the sign but this was the best I could do with my camera in a moving truck.

 Emory loved Santa Land. She kept saying "I so happy" and "it's beautiful" the whole time we were at Santa Land.

 This is one of my favorite things in Santa Land. It is a tunnel covered with lights. My camera is too low tech to do the tunnel justice, but hopefully you can get the idea.

This is the view on the other end of the tunnel. Nothing but white Christmas lights in all directions! It really is beautiful.

 Emory really liked the butterflies and hummingbirds.

I also liked the poinsettia's!

 This big Christmas tree was another of Emory's favorites.

 They have different "lands" in Santa Land. This cowboy boot is part of Elf Land Texas.

 This is the entrance into the area where the story of Jesus' birth and death is told. They have a life size nativity including the inn and manger. There is also a large tomb with the rock pushed away. The picture below is my absolute favorite part of Santa Land. It is of three crosses with Jesus carrying his cross. I wish the picture was better without the reflection from the water (this scene is over a small lake).

I did not get a picture of Cason but he loved Santa Land too. I think he was amazed at all the lights because he did not make one peep the whole time we were driving through which takes about 30 minutes. Emory of course loved it and all ready wants to go back next year! If you live near North East Texas I would definitely recommend you check out Santa Land!

Side Note: Yesterday Bradley put the Christmas lights on the house while Emory was taking her nap. We decided not to tell her but rather show her when we got home from Santa Land. The lights are plugged into this device that allows you to turn them on using a remote control, so when we got home last night Bradley used the remote to turn the lights on from the truck. Emory got really excited and started saying "Santa's been here, Santa's been here!" She was not too disappointed when we told her that Santa had not been to our house yet and that Daddy had put up the Christmas lights!
