Gingerbread Collapse

I found this cute little gingerbread kit and thought it would be great for the kids. The houses were smaller so I thought they would be easier for the kids to work with and there were four of them, so no fighting over one house. I thought wrong!

 The pre-cut pieces did not fit together real well, making it extremely difficulty to build the house.

 We did manage to get one together...sort of. It stood for a little while before collapsing. Emory eventually gave up on building and decided to eat instead! Cason was only interested in the candy!



At least they tasted good!
Next year I will be purchasing the all ready assembled ready to decorate house again! 

Proud Momma

I am a little behind on everything, including blogging due to the flu bug invading our house this past week so I am playing catch up on a few things. Emory brought this home from church after Thanksgiving.

Several of the Sunday school classes created a thankful bulletin board and each kid got to say what they are thankful for and then put their picture next to it. As you can see Emory said she was thankful for Cason which melts my heart. She loves him so! She also drew a lovely turkey!

SANTA LAND 2013

Mother nature put a damper on our plans this weekend dumping inches of ice on Ft. Worth Thursday night, so we were unable to go to Cameron and Blake's to celebrate Madison's first birthday. We also missed out on the Polar Express. Emory was upset to say the least, but because we would now be in town we could go to the Christmas parade, which helped ease Emory's disappointment. A trip to Newks (Emory's new favorite restaurant, sorry Chili's) was also in order to help her feel better. Fast forward to Saturday afternoon and it was FREEZING. Bradley and I decided that sitting in the freezing cold was not a good idea given the kids and I are both are getting over colds. Soooo we decided to head to Santa Land!! We got there a little before 5:00 pm and were 10th in line. We have never been that close before! They opened the gate about 10 till 6:00 pm so the wait was not bad at all.

 They turned the lights on about 5:30 pm which elevated the excitement in our car.

 And were off!

Cason loved it.

 Even though this was his third time going to Santa Land, this was the first he actually understood what he was looking at!

The Tooth Fairy is Coming Back Tonight

Emory lost her second tooth tonight!

Both of her new big girl teeth are peeking up through her gums. She does not have any other teeth loose at the moment but if she continues to lose them in the order she got them, then her two front teeth should be next! She is super excited and eager to show Mrs. Duke and her friends tomorrow at school! 

Christmas Trees

 Cason got a little Christmas tree like Emory's for his room this year and he is super proud of it! His tree has morphed into all things farm and cowboy and he loves it. I even put a piece of blue bandanna material I had around the bottom for the tree skirt.

 He has several farmer and cowboy Santa ornaments on his tree. His favorite ornament is Santa driving the tractor below.

 He also like this one because the cow is riding in the truck which he thinks is super funny!

 I waited too long this year to ornament shop and by the time I went (2 weeks ago) everything was just about sold out. Needless to say I did not find a farmer or cowboy Santa to add to Cason's collection, but did come across this cute cowboy cow.

Emory's tree still consists of Santa and E ornaments.  

 I put on the lights for her but she put on most of the ornaments and did a fantastic job!

 I spent most of yesterday decorating our Christmas tree. Emory helped me with the ornaments and is very proud that we only broke two.

While we were decorating it she told me that Santa is going to think we have good taste because it looked beautiful. I have no idea where she comes up with this stuff. We have a fourth tree this year which is the little table top tree that used to be in Cason's room. It is still a work in progress. I have deemed it the homemade tree and plan to put all the ornaments/decorations that the kids have or will make this year. Emory and I are also working on a chain garland which we are making out of red and greed construction paper. So, there you have it...The Cobb Christmas Trees of 2013!!

Trip to the Tree Farm

Yesterday morning we headed to the Christmas tree farm to cut our Christmas tree. Cason was super excited and insisted on bringing his saw.

It is a little over 10 feet tall and has plenty of room at the bottom for presents!
