King Ranch

We started our vacation off Monday morning by heading to Kingsville to tour the King Ranch. Before the tour we did a little shopping at the King Ranch Saddle Shop.
The tour of the ranch is a bus tour and last about 2 hours. It was long but the kids seemed to enjoy learning about the ranch and seeing all the wild life. We saw horses, cows, wild turkeys, coyotes, and deer.
This was the Kings carriage house and it was huge. Back before the ranch was called the King Ranch it was called the Santa Gertrudis Ranch.
Another view of the carriage barn.
A few hundred cacti!
Eli slept for the first part of the tour.
Then he woke up and enjoyed the ride!
They are a little blurry but there are two wild turkeys.

The main house.
We only rode by the side of it and it is huge, so I was unable to get it all in one picture. The family still comes and stays at the house.
Part of the old  horse barn when they used to be big in horse racing. We saw the old jockey quarters too!
We enjoyed the tour of the ranch and were all glad it was an air conditioned bus because it was hot!

4 Months Old

Eli Grant you are 4 months old today!
You are mostly wearing a size 6 months in clothes but have few 3-6 months that still fit. You are wearing a size 3 diaper and I feel like you weigh around 16 pounds.
You are a happy little guy and are always smiling. You still love taking a bath and watching your big sister and brother.  You are also a fan of the television.
You are an excellent eater and a good sleeper and usually wake up 1 to 2 times a night to eat. You usually go right back to sleep once you are full and have even slept through the night a few times.
You prefer to be on your back and usually roll yourself over after just a little while on your tummy. Cason has declared you an excellent roller! You are an easy going sweet little boy and we all love you very much Eli!

Beach Pictures

So I attempted to take the kids pictures one evening at the beach. Between the crazy wind and Eli's constant drooling it didn't go very well. The next two pictures are the best ones and then there are the "out takes!" Eli was NOT a fan of the wind. It was extremely windy that evening.
Emory Grace (7), Cason Bradley (5)  and Eli Grant (3 months)

Road Trip to Corpus Christi

Last Sunday we headed to Corpus Christi.  Bradley's conference was down there again this year so we were able to have a little mini vacation.
These two were pretty excited to be going to the beach.
Its a long ride down to Corpus so we made a pit stop in Houston and went to Build-A-Bear. Emory has been asking to go so she and Cason worked in the flower beds and earned a trip.
Cason picked a Texas Longhorn (Cason insists you say Texas Longhorn and not just Longhorn) and  Emory a pink fluffy bear she named Love.  Here they are pumping in the stuffing.
Next it was time to give them a good bath and brushing.
Then they each picked out an outfit and accessories.
They both had fun building their bear and cow! After our pit-stop in Houston we loaded up and continued to head south.
South Texas sunset somewhere between Victoria and Corpus. We made it to our hotel around 9:30 that night and after baths the kids got out their new animals and played a little while before bed.

This little fellow was such a good boy on the road. Here he is stretching before bed!

Eli's 1 Month Photo Shoot

I had Eli's pictures taken at 1 month just as I have done with Emory and Cason. I got the pictures a few weeks ago but July has been super busy for us and I am very behind on posting.  Eli looks so little in these pictures but he still has the same little expressions.

3 Months Old

Eli Grant you are 3 months old!
You have really grown over the last month and wear 3-6 and 6 month clothes and a size 2 diaper. I feel like you weigh between 15 and 16 pounds.  You still enjoy eating and usually get up between 1 to 2 times a night, however I think you are going through a growth spurt because the last few nights you have woken up 3 to 4 times a night to eat.

Milestones you have accomplished this month include smiling and talking more, discovering your hands, and rolling over from tummy to back.
You still enjoy your bath and swing and love watching people, especially Emory and Cason. You also are a fan of the television. You are an easy going happy little guy as long as you are full!
