The morning of day three we left Kansas City and headed into Amish country.
We went to Jamesport, MO which is a small town with a large Amish population.
We drove around the town and even out into the countryside to see all the Amish farms.

Their horses were all huge. I tried to take a picture as we drove by.
Buggies at the grocery store in town. We stopped at the Amish grocery store out of town. It was powered by a generator. Everything was sold in clear bags or containers. You could buy huge bags of flour, etc. They did have several Bob's Red Mills gluten free items. We actually found some things I can't find at Wal-Mart or Kroger. Cason decided there must be an Amish person with Celiacs that lives in the community.
I tried to take a picture of this buggy heading down this little country road, but it was far off and we were driving so it turned out a little blurry. I still thought it was pretty though.

After we left Jamesport we had a long day of driving through Missouri and Iowa.

Iowa reminded me of Illinois and all the trips we took to see my grandmother.

We made it to Davenport, Iowa that evening and after checking into our hotel we only went to eat that night. We had arrived in John Deere country finally!
