Emory's 6 Month Check-Up

Emory had her 6 month check-up last Friday, which included 3 shots, poor baby. She has not grown a whole lot since her 4 month visit, but her doctor is not concerned and feels she has just not had her latest growth spurt. She weighed 14 lbs 5 ounces and was 25.75 in length. Her head did grow, which for those of you that do not already know was on the small side (3rd percentile at 4 months). I am glad to say that Emory’s head is now in the 22nd percentile! The doctor said she was healthy and above average with her milestones. I still can’t believe she is 6 months old.
After each of Emory's check-ups I have taken her picture lying on the couch. This time she was not having it. This was as close as I could get.
Too Cute!
Playing in her exosaucer. She loves this thing.
Chewing on the cow watching TV.
She chewed too hard and hurt her top teeth, which are real swollen. Poor Baby.

6 Months Old

Emory turned 6 months old yesterday. Happy half-a-year Emory! Tomorrow we go for her 6 month check-up and I can't wait to see how much she has grown. She was 13.01 lbs at 4 months, so I am thinking she will be somewhere between 15 and 16 pounds. Saturday she is having her pictures taken and I hope she is in a great mood for her photo shoot! Her top teeth having been bothering her for the last few days and she has not been in the greatest of moods. At 6 months...
She is still wearing size 3 months & 3-6 months clothes.
She now wears a size 2 diaper.
She still has two teeth, with a third one on the way!
She eats formula, cereal, green beans, sweet peas, carrots (not too well), sweet potatoes, and bananas.
She can hold her bottle all by herself really well now.
She can roll, flip, scoot, talk, giggle, laugh, and CRAWL!
She loves to ride in her stroller.
She loves to watch everything, especially kids.
She still puts everything in her mouth.
She still thinks her mommy and daddy are hilarious.
She loves taking a bath in her big girl bathtub. She plays with her toys and loves to kick her legs and splash water.
She can sit all by herself!
She is starting to really play with her toys.
She looks at you when you say her name.
She knows what a bottle and spoon mean, FOOD, and gets very excited when she see's them!
Starting the crawl!
On the go! She saw something and wanted it!
Playing with her new toy! Mommy interrupted her to take a picture.
 Love the "what Mom" face!

Tummy to Sitting

Last night Emory was in her crib playing while I was getting her bath ready. When I went to get her she was sitting up. Hmmm, this is new! She must had just done it, because she had this what just happened look! I have not seen her do it yet, but I am watching with the video camera near by! Baby food update: Emory decided that bananas are not so bad as she previously thought and is eating them now. Mommy's and Daddy's can be very persistent! Tonight we start sweet potatoes! Yum yum.

Moving Moving Moving

It's official…. We have moved! We are now in the new house, which is a mess! There are boxes everywhere and the only room that is remotely put together is Emory’s room. The house looks a bit bare, but soon we will have our new furniture and it will feel homey. Emory is crawling, not well, but enough to get into things, which is exactly what she does. She sees something and wants it! She is a very curious little thing and grabs for everything. I was a bit worried that changing her environment would create a little hick up in Emory’s routine, but it has not. She has slept through the night in her new room with no problem. We also lowered her crib mattress because she is sitting up real well now and was starting to use her bumper pads to pull up on. I can’t believe that she will be 6 months old in one week. She is growing up so fast! It makes me a little sad, but at the same time I love watching her learn and discover new things. Baby food update: Emory does not like BANANAS. She did eat them last night mixed with cereal, but she was not happy about it. Sweet peas is still holding strong as her favorite.
Taking a bath in her new bathtub!

The Weekend

We had a very busy and crazy weekend and Emory was such a patient and good little girl. Saturday we traveled all over Nacogdoches and Lufkin in search of a new TV for above the fireplace in the new house. We finally found the one we wanted in stock at Best Buy, apparently it was the weekend to buy a new TV. They were selling like crazy everywhere we went! Let me just say that Emory absolutely LOVED looking at all the TVs in the store. She was like a little kid in a candy shop, except she was in front of 30 or so TVs all going at the same time. She was AMAZED! After our TV adventure we got to the new house and the plumber informs us that the wrong sink was delivered for the half bath, so we are off again to take care of that. On Sunday Bradley and I worked at the new house cleaning and doing finishing touches while Emory checked out the new carpet and played. She also had a new sitting up record of two minutes without support. Yeah Emory! She gets so tickled at herself when I clap for her. Too cute! She also sorta crawled on Sunday. She move forward with one leg/arm, but then fell over while she was trying to figure out what to do next. Our veggie of the week is sweet peas and she loves them. For those keeping track she has tried green beans, carrots, and now sweet peas! I think we will try a fruit next week.

Here is a picture of her sitting up. This one lasted about 45 seconds or so!
She was amazed with Bradley's Burger King cup and she wanted it!
Trying to grab the straw.
Not sure how she got here, but she started from the far end of the blanket.
Too cute! All dressed up and ready to buy a TV!

Talking, Carrots & Bloomers Oh My

Emory is getting to be such a big girl. She is really "talking" now, I just wish I knew what she was saying. She is so funny to listen to, especially when she gets going. Some things must be more important than others because her little voice changes and she get this serious look. She is so funny! We started carrots Sunday and I do not think they are going to grow on her like the green beans did. She hates them! She makes the cutest ugly face possible when we sneak a bite in. I ordered Emory some embroidered things online and they finally came in yesterday. They are too cute! I can not wait for Emory to grow and be able to wear them.
I ordered these bloomers for Emory and they are so cute! I also got a little shirt that matches this pair.
I also ordered the cutest little beaded socks.
Emory will no longer sleep on her back. She flips over just as soon as you put her down. This is a picture of her sound asleep last night.
Bradley sneaked in a bite of carrots and she did not like it.
Chewing on a frozen wash cloth to help with those pesky teeth!
I think her top ones are bothering her now.

Emory's 5 Months Old

Five months ago this time I was lying in the recovery room trying desperately to wiggle my toes so I could go and see my baby girl. Now she is nearly crawling! Here is a little peek into what she has accomplished thus far:
  • She is wearing size 3 months & 3-6 months clothes, which are still a little too big
  • She wears a size 1 diaper
  • She has two teeth
  • She eats breast milk, formula, cereal, and is now attempting green beans
  • She can roll, flip, scoot, talk, giggle, & laugh
  • She loves to ride in her stroller
  • She loves to watch TV, especially baseball
  • She chews on everything she can fit in her mouth, I found her chewing on her crib the other day!
  • She thinks her mommy and daddy are hilarious
  • She is happiest when she is taking a bath and loves to kick her legs and splash about
  • She makes the funniest expressions when she is sleeping and eating
These keys were mine when I was little.
I bought this bow online and did not realize how big it was.
It is bigger then her head!
Playing with all her toys!
