Emory's First Fair

Last week Emory attended her first fair. She learned about cows, pigs, chicken, and goats, which she called “doogs," and rode her first merry-go-round. Since Bradley is an Ag Teacher and over the FFA he pretty much is MIA during the fair, so in order for Emory and I to see him we attended just about every day. Emory loved the animals, watching the people, and riding the merry-go-round. She rode it two times and probably would have ridden it more if the weather would have been better. She instinctively knew to put her hands on the pole and hold on. She was too cute! Despite the yucky weather I think Emory really loved the fair!!
This was just after the ride was over.
Round and round she goes!
Waiting for the ride to start!
All dressed up in her overalls and boots.
Too cute!
Emory loves to sit on this container. She thinks she is hot stuff when she sits on it! She's a mess! She is in her John Deere gear for the fair.
Looking for the doogs. She now says doog (aka dog)!
Go Douglass FFA!

Temper Temper

In the last week or so Emory has started to despise riding in her car seat. As soon as I put her in she starts fussing and squirming trying to get out, but after a few minutes she usually settles down. That is until yesterday when she decided to have the biggest temper tantrum to date. She screamed all the way from daycare, threw every single one of her toys down, and proceeded to kick and hit her car seat. Then in the middle of her fit she pulled the sun/rain visor part of her car seat down and kicked that some more. I tried everything I could do while driving to calm her; played her CDs, talked to her, sang a song, but nothing worked. She was mad and wanted out. The funny thing is as soon as I pulled into the garage and turned off the car it was over. Screaming… done, Tears… done, Kicking….done. I of course had to take a picture to document Emory’s first major temper tantrum!
When I opened the door this is how I found her. She had a beet red face and a few tears, but was all smiles. She knew she was about to get out.
This was her telling me enough pictures already, I want out!

The Many Faces of Emory Eating

Below are some of the many faces Emory makes when eating her snacks. Usually during snack time Emory talks to herself, me, her sippy cup, or whoever will listen. She is so funny when she carries on that I can't help but laugh!

EMORY'S BIG NEWS

Emory walked across the living room pushing her toy (pictured below). She did it three times Sunday afternoon and I was able to get it on video the third time. She was playing with her toys and then just crawled over to her toy pulled herself up, and away she went! She seemed really proud of herself and I of course had to clap and cheer! She is getting to be such a big girl and seems to be doing something new daily!

Saturday Morning Pancakes

Saturday morning I made pancakes and decided to make a baby pancake for Emory. She is really into feeding herself and chewing things, so why not. Not to mention she has a mouth full of teeth! She loved it and wanted more. So I made her a second one which she ate all gone!
Emory's first pancake!
This is new! She seemed to enjoy tearing it apart.
Trying it out. I had to take this piece out of her mouth and cut it into smaller pieces because as you can see she was trying to stuff the whole piece in her mouth.
SHE LIKES PANCAKES!
YUM YUM

Shoe Dilemma

Emory will no longer keep her shoes on her feet. Instead she wants to chew and bite them. In the last few weeks it has been impossible to keep her shoes on and when she can't get them off she sticks her foot in her mouth and bites her shoes so hard I am afraid she is going to chip a tooth. I of course take them off and let her go barefoot. But with winter coming and Emory getting closer to walking, barefoot is not going to work much longer! She is acting like she might be teething again with # 9, but I have not been able to look because she likes to bite fingers too!
Here she is yesterday chewing on her boot. She had it off and in her mouth before I could even get her other shoe on.
I have had to start keeping the blinds raised because Emory thinks they are fun to play with. She now likes to look out the window. She is looking for the doggies here! When she sees Cole or Mable she points and babbles something, which of course means doggie!
She loves to sit in things. She also likes it when you push her around! I think we will be purchasing a wagon soon!
I just love this expression! She's got one hand on the umbrella starting the music and the other is holding blankiebear, which Emory has become quite attached too. She loves her blankiebear!

Noah's Birthday Party

Noah turned 7 on September 12th and Emory and I drove to Grapevine for his birthday party. It was WILD! He had his party at one of those bouncy jumping places called Boomerangs. This place was crazy and loud, but he had a blast. After his party Noah declared it was the best party he has ever had! I think he said the same thing last year and the year before that! All that matters is he and his friends had fun. Plus I got to see Tessa & Olivia and Clancy & Maggie while I was up there.
Noah showing everyone a Lego set he got for his birthday. This kid loves Legos!
