Little Mommy

Tonight Emory was playing mommy with her baby doll and she was so funny. She insisted on taking a picture of her baby because she was "SO CUTE." I guess I have rubbed off on her when it comes to taking pictures.
Then after dinner she told us that her baby was sick and she needed to hold her. We heard her in the living room consoling her baby. She was patting her back and telling her "it's okay, it's okay." So sweet!

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day started off with a certain little girl jumping into bed with me at 6:30 this morning. Then it was church, Sunday school, and lunch.
Later the kids gave me my Mother's Day presents. I got a beautiful bookmark and pot holder from Emory and Cason that they made at Ms. Betty's and Bradley got me a new cookbook.
We had a rough afternoon with more tears than smiles. Emory did not take a nap other then the 10 minutes she slept on the way home and Cason took a short nap but still seemed tired. I think he is still worn out from yesterday.
This is what my living room looked like this afternoon, and this is nothing compared to their bedrooms. It is a never ending battle keeping things picked up and somewhat neat (Cason is a pro at dragging things out of his room), but I would not trade it for anything because these smiles make it all worth it, even if they are fake Emory Grace!
  Emory and Cason ~
I love you very very much and am so very thankful to be your mommy.

5th Anniversary & Family Barbecue

Today is our 5th wedding anniversary and Bradley surprised me with an anniversary band! It looks just like my wedding band and I love it. It does not seem like it has been five years but then when I look back on all the changes we have made in that time…..baby girl, built a house, baby boy……it seems like it should be longer. Ha!  We have done a lot in 5 years! Thank you for the ring Bradley, I love it and you!
This morning we headed to my grandmother’s for a family barbecue. My aunt was in from California and the kids had not seem her in a year.
The kids waiting on Grandma and Paw Paw who had just pulled up in the driveway.
Emory being Emory.
This is what I got when I asked her to smile.
My sweet Cason.
Aunt Linda and Emory!
Emory's eyes were closed but this is the best I could do! She was everywhere today and had a blast! She also wore these necklaces all day!
This picture cracks me up! This was just after lunch and Cason's belly was full and he was sleepy and ready for a nap.
Noah giving me the thumbs up!
Emory picked me these flowers! She loves to pick flowers.
Emory giving me kisses!
Cason being silly!
My grandfather had Parkinson's before he passed away and needed a lift chair to help him get up and down safely. My grandmother still has the chair and the great grand kids love playing in it. Noah had it "cranked" all the way up today!

Emory played so hard she fell asleep literally within two minutes of leaving this evening. Cason had a blast too! I ate way too much and completely blew my diet. Those chocolate chip cookies just had to call my name.... I blame them and the deviled eggs!
We had a great time visiting with everyone today!

Purple Hands

Sunday evening during dinner Emory asked Bradley and I why Jesus did not paint her hands purple. Before we could respond she says, "God likes pink best......right?" He likes pink because He made her hands "pink" of course. I love how she is always thinking of something. Tonight I was ironing one of her shirts and she says, "I hope there is not a hole in my new shirt Momma." She then goes "There is a hole for my head though..... right?" Right Emory! We discovered a hole in one of her socks she was wearing before her bath and I guess she had holes on the brain! She is so funny. I need to start carrying a pen around with me so I can write down all the sweet, witty, and funny things she says.

The Yellow Chair

Cason loves sitting in the little chairs. He was so funny this afternoon while sitting in the yellow chair that I had to get the camera out. He sat, stood and got in trouble, knelt in it, laughed, got up and down about 100 times, and grinned from ear to ear! He was quite proud of himself!
After I took a picture of Cason in the yellow chair Emory wanted her picture taken in it too. She actually smiled pretty for the camera!
Then the silly came out and the show began!

New Wheels

The weekend of the crawfish boil Emory's little 4-wheeler had an unfortunate accident. We are not real sure when or how it happened but Emory was very upset when she discovered it was broken the next day.
This pink little number caught Emory's eye while we looking online for a new one. It is larger than her purple one so she will be able to ride it for a few years (if it last that long). Grandma and Paw Paw bought it for her and had it shipped to our Wal-Mart. Last night we put it together and then had to wait 18 LONG hours for it to charge.
Finally at 2:00 pm sharp it was ready and so was Emory. I think it was calling her name because she woke up from her nap literally at 1:59 pm. Ha!
She loves it and rode all afternoon!
Thank you again Grandma and Paw Paw!!!

Here Comes The Bride

This evening Emory and I were cuddling on the couch when an engagement ring commercial came on television. Here is the conversation that followed:

Emory- You have a married ring momma.
Me- Yes, Daddy gave it to me when we got married.
Emory- I wasn't born yet, right?
Me- No, you were not born yet. Mommy and Daddy had you after we got married.
Emory- I went to a wedding yesterday. (yesterday means anytime in the past)
Me- Yes, we went to Crystals wedding last year. Do you remember going and her pretty dress?
Emory- I have a pretty wedding dress.
Me- Yes you do.
Emory- I going to get married tomorrow. (tomorrow means anytime in the future)
Me- Yes, you can get married one day.
Emory- Somebody needs to get me a boy.

Oh my! I couldn't help but laugh because she was so serious. We discussed this further and Emory is now in agreement that she needs to grow up before she gets married. She agreed to wait until she is 7!
