Ride 'em Cowboy

Saturday In Pics

Saturday morning started off bright and early with both kids rearing and ready to go. Emory was in a dancing mood and no dance outfit is complete without a headband. Here she is getting on to me because I was disturbing her dancing.
Cason did a little shopping after breakfast. He loves pushing the shopping cart around.
And Emory continued to dance. Here she is dancing with Dot.
Cason perfected his golf game. He really is pretty good at swinging the club and hitting the ball.
All that dancing wore Emory out and she took a little break and watched a little Fresh Beat Band.
Cason had his first typing lesson which he found hilarious.
I promise Emory and Cason got dressed yesterday, but somehow I did not manage to get one picture with them in their clothes. Yesterday afternoon Emory went with Bradley and Peepaw to pickup hay while Cason and I played with the flashcards. I discovered his favored animal is a duck and he now knows how to quack!! Later that evening a storm blew in and we got a little over 4 inches of rain in about 1.5 hours. Glad for the rain but not thrilled with the ranging river that was flowing through the front yard. The storm knocked down a few large branches including one on the fence out by the road, as well as a few trees. Emory was not a fan and got a little scared by the wind and loud thunder.
We also lost electricity around 6:00 pm and it did not come back on until 2:00 am. UGH!
So we gave baths using lanterns and turned candles into night lights. I was very excited when the lights came back on because I was hot and not sleeping. I do not think I could have lived in Texas prior to electricity.

3 1/2 Years Old

Emory Grace you are 3 1/2 years old today!
You still weigh 27 lbs and are wearing a size 2T/ 3T top, 24 months/2T shorts, and a size 8 shoe. I am not sure what we are going to do this winter. You are tall and need a 3T pant in length but they are just to big for your little waist, even the adjustable kind.  Your favorite foods are mac & cheese and corn on the cob. You love to read books, color, and play outside. Some of your favorite cartoons are Dora, Team Umizoomi, Bubble Guppies, Phineas and Ferb, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Your favorite movie is still Beauty and the Beast but you also love your Barbie Christmas movie.
You are a hoot and keep Daddy and I laughing. You love to dance and "strike a pose" like in the picture above. Your imagination is vast and you bounce from being a super hero, a cowgirl, Captain Hook, a mommy, a police man, a bad guy, and the list goes on and on. You are a sharp little cookie and remember everything. You are also very curious and are always wanting to know why.
Your newest obsession is showers, because baths are for babies, and you have moved all your bath stuff into our shower. You told us the other day that taking a shower was "the most fun you have ever had! When you do not like what you are being told to do, like pick up your shoes, you tell us to quit bossing you because bossing is not nice. It is hard not to laugh when you are being naughty. You are a stubborn little girl but are equally if not more sweet. You love your little brother and the two of you have a blast playing with each other. I can't believe 3 1/2 years have come and gone. It seems like just yesterday I was looking into those pretty blue eyes for the first time!
I love you very much Emory and I am so very thankful to have you as my daughter!

Blankie

Cason is becoming increasingly attached to his blanket or if you talk to Emory her blanket that she is letting him borrow. I am afraid we may have a Linus from Charlie Brown on our hands!

Happy Birthday Mckenzie

Last weekend we headed south to celebrate Mckenzie's 2nd birthday! The kids had a blast swimming, riding the Barbie jeep and tricycle, and playing on Mckenzie's new swing set.
The sweet birthday girl!
Cason liked Mckenzie's rocking horse too!
Emory going super fast!
Mckenzie driving her little cuz around! Cason loved it and had a blast!
The birthday girl opening her presents.
I think this face says it all......she had a great 2nd birthday!!!!
Cason playing us a tune. He loves music and even "sings" along to the radio, which goes something like this, la la la la la la la!
The kids at a blast playing with Mckenzie and celebrating her birthday. Thank you Rachel and Andrew for having us!!!

The Reception

We had a great time at Blake and Cameron's reception. We also learned that our children love to dance.....more on that later.
The wedding cake was beautiful. I loved the flowers on the cake.
As soon as the music started Emory and Cason hit the dance floor and danced and danced and danced. It was so funny.
Tatum and Emory had fun playing and dancing together too! Tatum was so cute. She would pick up Cason and carry him around like a little doll. She's a strong little thing because Cason is a big boy!
The first dance as Mr. & Mrs.
This picture makes me laugh because you can see in the background where Cameron ditched her shoes for the dance. I had to drag Emory and Cason off the dance floor so Cameron and Blake could dance.
Emory waiting patiently for their first dance to be over!
Still waiting.
The centerpiece.
Emory was cracking us up because she would watch herself in the window while she danced. She really got into it and had a blast twirling and twisting!
Cason had a ball dancing and running around the dance floor too. There were several times when he was the only one out there!
We left the reception just after the cake because it was late, nearly 10:00 pm, and the kids (and mommy and daddy) were exhausted.

Cameron & Blake's Wedding

Friday we headed to Denton for Cameron and Blake's Wedding. The rehearsal dinner was that evening and ran fairly late for us. We ended up having to leave around 9:00 pm because Cason was exhausted and beyond ready for bed. He really was a good little boy considering he had two shots that morning, traveled most of day, and the rehearsal dinner started at his bed time. The dinner was very nice and the food fantastic!!!

Saturday morning we were able to have a little swimming fun.
Emory liked the hot tub and bubbles.
Cason loves swimming.
He had a great time "jumping" in  the water with Pawpaw!
Noah showing off his cannonball!
Emory built a castle.
Noah practicing his smile....he was preparing for the photo-ops that were to come.
The bride to be!
Noah (9) and Emory (3)
Unfortunately I was not able to get any good pictures of Noah and Emory before the wedding. I guess Emory's nerves kicked in when it was time to line up, because she started crying and saying she was scared. Bradley and I calmed her down and she went down the aisle with Noah tear free. She even threw her petals like she was supposed to. I was very proud of her! I just hope the photographer was able to get a good picture of them.
Dad and Cameron just before walking down the aisle.
The ceremony was very lovely. Cason behaved for the most part, although it took Bradley holding him in the back for him to be quiet. The wedding did not start until 7:30 pm, so he was tired and I am sure bored
I snapped my camera while the photographer was talking pictures of Blake, Emory, and Cameron. I hope his turned out better then mine. Ha!

Blake has been a part of our family for the last 7 years, but I guess he is "offically" my brother-in-law now! Congratulations again Blake and Cameron!
