The Big Dig

Yesterday evening the kids helped Mimi and Peepaw dig up their potatoes. Emory had been eagerly and semi-patiently waiting to dig potatoes all day. She loves to find potatoes. We dug ours up earlier this week and had some for dinner last night. I love new potatoes fresh from the garden, they were delicious!
They kids had a blast digging and found tons of potatoes!
Cason and Emory with some of their finds!
Emory also picked a couple of carrots.
After digging they cooled and cleaned off by playing in the water hose.
Here is a picture of some of the pumpkin plants I have growing in the yard. They are a result from our pumpkin carving last fall. We can't grow grass in this particular spot, but pumpkin you bet! We are going to try and replant  them in the garden so the kids can see how pumpkins grow.

Little Miss Technology

Yesterday afternoon I walked into living room and found Emory like this. She was busy making ice cream cookies, popsicles, and cakes on the iPad. She loves shopping at the "iStore" as she calls it and playing games.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun and relaxing memorial weekend. Sunday after church we headed to Tyler for a fun filled afternoon at Chuck-E-Cheese. Emory had a blast and played and rode just about everything. Cason loved this "Mickey Mouse" ride and rode it four or five times.

He takes his driving very serious!
Bradley bar-b-qued Monday and the kids played in the sprinkler and then helped shuck corn. His brisket turned out great and was very tasty!
Emory is now a pro at shucking and eating corn on the cob!
We made smores Monday evening for dessert. Emory enjoyed the ooey gooeyness!
We also "made" flag cookies this weekend and then the kids got a major case of the giggles during a strawberry snack! They feed off each other with silly sounds, sayings, and stories and before I know it they are both laughing hysterically.
Love these two to pieces!
We had a wonderful long weekend and I so thankful to those who served and sacrificed in order for us to enjoy such freedoms.

The Many Poses of Emory Grace

Emory has been asking for me to take her picture a lot lately and she insists on posing, which usually consists of her head cocked to the side. She also likes to pose with some sort of a "prop." She is such a mess!

Mother's Day 2013

Sunday morning we headed to my grandmother's house for Mother's Day. We visited, had a nice lunch, and of course fed the cows while we were there.
Alpie and all the great grand kids
Grandma and the grand kids.
They were ready to feed the cows and NOT interested in taking pictures.
I attempted to take a picture of all the kids. Easier said then done. This was the best one.
Noah James (10), Cason Bradley (2), Emory Grace (4), & Madison Marie (5 months)

Then there are the "out takes"
Those are just a few of many bad shots.
Emory and Maddie
Emory loves holding her.
Love that sweet smile!
This is Cason favorite shirt. He LOVES tractors.
I am so thankful for these two!
Emory Grace being silly. She was waiting for everyone to load up to go feed the cows.
We found a brand new baby cow!
Madison loved the cows too!

We had a great day and I had a great Mother's day spending it with my family!

Our Week

We have had a busy and fun week!
Sunday was kids day at church and the older children participated in the service by greeting the congregation, leading the prayers, and collecting the offering. Then Sunday night the children's choir performed. Emory is in the Treble Makers group, which is ages 3 to 6. This is not a great picture because we were sitting a few rows back. This was just before they started singing and I think she was nervous.
She sang her heart out and did a great job! We are very proud of her. I snapped this picture afterwards.
Every night this week, except yesterday (it was raining) we have been outside. We have worked in the garden, watered the flowers, hunted for honeysuckles, fed Yeller a carrot, and just played.
Emory's flowers are doing great!
A few of our roses!
I know it is May, but have I have three mums that are about to bloom.
This one (on bottom) is a 1 1/2 years old. I call it SUPER MUM!
Cason's new thing is to put the chairs and horse on the fireplace. I put them up and he drags them back out and up they go. I have no idea why, but I think he thinks he is pretty cool sitting up there.
Emory and Dora joined him too!
That is our week in a nutshell!
I am glad it is Friday and  ready for the weekend to begin!

Sprinkler Fun

This past Saturday we broke out the kids new sprinkler and they had a blast!
Then they took the jeep for a little spin!
