Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Today Emory and I went on her first school field trip. The field trip was to the Moore Pumpkin Patch in Bullard and included the Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade classes.
Emory's Pre-K class (minus one).
As you can see it is extremely hard to get all these kids looking in one direction, especially when the sun is bright and in their eyes!

We took a hay ride to the pumpkin patch and then everyone got to pick a pumpkin to keep. Emory picked out this pumpkin and then another one for Cason. She surprised him with it when we got home.
After we did all the activities we had a picnic lunch before heading home. The weather was beautiful and the kids all had a great time. I on the other hand am wore out and ready for bed!

Masterpieces

Saturday afternoon we went and checked out the new Atwoods store in town and found these big coloring posters. Since I was still recovering from my surgery I thought the posters would be a great low key activity we could do together. Emory picked out the farm one and Cason the truck. Emory went right to work when we got home.
Here she is giving me sass because I am taking her picture.
And then she of course had to be silly. It took us two days to color the poster and in that time Emory colored several AB patterns (she is a little sponge at school-soaks up everything) and informed me that my animals were boring and not colorful enough. Hence her rainbow horse below and colorful sky because colorful is better then blue!
Mine & Emory's Masterpiece!

This little man picked the truck poster and was super excited when we opened it up and discovered it was a fire truck!
We are still working on Cason's masterpiece but I will post a picture of the finished product when we get it finished.

2 1/2 Year Check-up

This morning Cason had his 2 1/2 year check-up. He weighed 28.3 pounds (32nd percentile) and is 36 inches tall (50th percentile). Dr. Huggins confirmed my suspension and he has another ear infection. This time it is just in his right ear. He was very cranky yesterday and kept telling me his hair hurt when I would ask what was wrong and then he would point to his hair above his ear. Dr. Huggins got tickled when I told her he was complaining of his hair hurting! No shots at this visit but he did get the flu mist which he did not like at all. He is on target or above in all milestones and got a clean bill of heath! I tried to take his picture while we were waiting to see Dr. Huggins but he kept telling me no cheese.
I thought it was funny the way he put his hat on his knee so here he is telling me no cheese while waiting on Dr. Huggins. You see he rearranged the furniture or at least the stool. He had been climbing it to the top of the chair and then jumping up on the chair and yelling ta-da!

Park Fun

This morning I took the kids to the park to play for a little while before heading to Wal-Mart to get groceries. They had a blast.

2 1/2 Years Old

Cason you are 2 1/2 years old today!
You are wearing a size 24 month and a few 2ts.  She wear a size 7 shoe. You love cowboy boots, hats, and anything with a fire truck or big tractor on it. Your new favorite saying is "no ma'am" which you tell me anytime you do not like what I am saying. You usually accompany it with a swift finger shake. You know most of your colors and your numbers, however you do not always get them in the right order. Your favorite number is 8 with 4 coming in second.
You are funny, sweet, and stubborn all rolled into one. You love to get dirty, read books, and ride the 4 wheeler. You also love money and are always looking for coins to put in your pockets. Other pocket finds include screws, rocks, and anything else that you can fit in them.
You want to do everything your big sister does. You love to sing your Bible songs and to skip. You love French fries, strawberries, and diet coke. You give everything a house, French fry house (McDonalds), fire truck house (Fire station), etc. I love your big personality and your wit. Your little laugh is infectious and I just adore it and you. We love you Cason Bradley!

Daddy's Little Helper

We are in the process of building a second garage to house ALL things non automobile, such as riding toys, 4-wheeler, riding lawn mower, etc. Cason has been helping Bradley and Peepaw work. He loves to carry the big boards around and work with the tools. He also refused to wear a shirt under his "work" overalls. He is such a mess just like somebody else I know!
As you can see he was working hard!
