WDW Autographs

I tried to think of something the kids could take to Walt Disney World to get autographs on that would not end of in drawer never to be looked at again once we were back. I decided on two 5X7 picture mats, which ended up working great because they fit in my purse and were not heavy. I finally got all the Disney pictures developed and Emory and Cason each picked out a picture from WDW to go in their frame.
They both love them!

5 1/2 Years Old

Emory Grace you turned 5 1/2 years old yesterday!
You have a big personality! You are loving, silly, determined, loud, tender, creative, a little bossy at times, and full of adventure. You love the outdoors, singing, coloring, creating, and playing with Cason.
You are wearing a size 5 in clothes and a size 11 shoe. You have lost your 4 bottom teeth and currently have two big girl teeth and two holes. You are an excellent eater and some of your favorite foods are green beans, stick together mac-n-cheese (homemade), and apple pie.
You love to learn new things and you are very curious. You also have quite the memory, which amazed Mrs. Duke this past year at school. You remember everything! You are very excited about going to Kindergarten next month and getting your very own desk!

Cupcakes

We made cupcakes today!
There was no special occasion, other then I had a box of yellow cake mix that needed to get used and I thought the kids would enjoy decorating them. They each got to pick an icing color. Cason picked green and Emory purple. Then they went to town making the cupcakes beautiful!
A few of their creations.
After all the cupcakes were decorated it was time to eat!
Yummy yummy icing!
Cason decided to turn his icing upside down and get down to business. The little end was taking too long!

Drawings

This came in the mail a few weeks after returning from our Disney World vacation.
Just another example of what makes Disney World so special and in a class all its own!

Emory drew the picture below a few weeks ago as well. I asked her if that was her and Cason playing and she says, "No silly, that's Zaccheus watching Jesus in the tree!"
Zaccheus has become one of her favorite Bible stories, although I think David and Goliath is still holding at number 1!

Catch up

I am a little behind in posting. What can I say Disney World wore me out!
We have been very busy around here since returning from vacation.
Emory lost her 4th baby tooth on June 20th and now has two new big girl teeth and two holes across the bottom! She's thrilled.
Photo: Adiós baby tooth #4!!
A few weeks ago we went to Alpie's house for a visit. I was able to take a few pictures of the kids.
 Madison and Emory
Cason of course was not looking, but Miss Priss was posing!
 Another failed attempt.
Maddie DID NOT want to take a picture.

Cason sitting in Pawpaw's old lift chair.
Cason loves to pretend that his lego's are rocks and uses his dump trucks and tractors to move them around.
I found him like this one morning.
Last night Emory made hotdogs with her playdough and Cason made cookies.

Then had a MAJOR playdough food fight while I was cooking dinner, which resulted in both of them getting in MAJOR trouble.
Next week Emory will be 5.5 years old and I decided she was ready for my American Girl Samantha doll. So this morning I got Samantha cleaned up and gave her to Emory. She was super excited because she has been waiting for this day for some time now.

Big Boy Bed

After being on back order since February, Cason's bunk bed came while we were at Walt Disney World. He was SUPER excited to see it waiting in the garage when we got home.
Have I mentioned Cason LOVES John Deere tractors! He is very proud of his new big boy bunk bed and tractor bedding. Although he will correct you if you call it a big boy bed, it is a "small boy bed" because he is small not big.
Emory has slept in his room with him since we got the bed put together. They have been alternating between top and bottom bunks.
I still need to move his name from out of the corner but other than that his new room is complete. Do you see all his dump trucks and tractors in the corner? That is the new garage where he is parking everything. I had started putting them under the bed, out of sight, but he quickly deemed the corner the garage and started putting them over there!

Road Trip To & From Disney World

We left early Saturday morning for Walt Disney World with two very excited children!
On the way there we met Mom and Dad in Monroe, LA and then took I-20 east. We changed it up on the way back, and chose a more southern route, taking I-10 & I-12 through the deep south!
 The Mighty Mississippi on I-20.

I got tickled because as soon as you cross the Mississippi River on I-20 the terrain goes from flat low lands to very hilly. I can only imagine the relief our forefathers traveling west must have felt when they got across that huge river and out of those hills!!
 The Mobile Tunnel
Emory loved going under the tunnel! Grandma kept her eyes closed the entire time! We stayed the night in Pensacola, FL and after dinner found a little water for Emory to dip her feet in. We were near the bay vs the beach but it was water!!
We entertained ourselves by watching movies, making silly videos, and taking silly pictures!
We also slept a little too. We made it to Disney World about 5:00 pm (Eastern time). On the way home we drove a LONG time and spent the night in Baton Rouge, LA.
Crossing the Mississippi River in Baton Rouge which is to the right in the picture below.
Growing up we traveled quite a bit to my Grandmother's in Illinois and we always played the license plate game. So, naturally we played it on the way to Disney World. We saw 38 states, plus British Columbia Canada.
States: Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, Illinois, Hawaii (which I can't believe), Florida, Oklahoma, Tennessee, California, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Maryland, Arizona, Michigan, Connecticut, Indiana, South Carolina, Ohio, Wyoming, Kentucky, North Carolina, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Virginia, Washington, Kentucky, Iowa, Nevada, & Oregon.
We got home about 1:00 Sunday afternoon (one week later) and here are the kids as we pulled into the driveway!
We had a VERY FUN trip and I loved watching Emory and Cason experience Walt Disney World for the first time! Emory is already planning her next trip. Thank you Grandma and Pawpaw!!!
