Sock Hop Day

Monday the Pre-K and Kindergarten classes at Emory's school celebrated the 50th day of school with a 50's sock hop day. The kids all wore 50's attire and learned about the 1950's.
Emory in her poodle skirt. She wore my high school class ring on a necklace and was super excited. As soon as we got to school I overheard her telling her friend Jocelyn that the ring was very old and special.
The day was filled with activities including a hula hoop contest, bubble gum bubble blowing contest, learning 50's dance moves and enjoying coke and root bear floats. Emory even came home with a souvenir from her first sock hop!
I copied the below picture from the Regents blog and it copied a little fuzzy but you can see how much fun that had at the sock hop!
