Lazy Sunday

Sunday after church Emory and I stayed in while Bradley worked getting the rent house ready for renters. Emory played a lot, slept some, and watched me wash and fold clothes. She really likes to bang and beat things with hangers. She has been going through a bit of a mommy's girl phase the past two or three days and really stayed by my side this weekend. She seems to go through these little phases, a week or so ago she was the same way with her daddy. Emory also tried beef baby food last night, which she did not like... at all all! I think we will be mixing it with something in an attempt to get her to eat it.
Watching me fold clothes.
She pulls and pulls on the umbrella looking thing which plays music that she loves!
HI MOM!
Humm, what toy do I want to play with next?
Too cute!
I love this one! She looks like she is up to something.

8 Months Old

Today Emory is 8 months old and I can’t believe it. She is growing so fast and seems to be learning something new daily. She has brought such joy to our lives and we love her more than she will ever know, that is until she becomes a mother herself one day.

-Emory is working on her 8th tooth! She has had 4 come in all within the last 2 weeks.
-She is still wearing size 3-6 & 6 months clothes, but I think she is going through a growth spurt.
-She still wears a size two diaper, but I will probably be buying size 3 next time.
-She can say dada, but I do not think she knows just what it means yet.
-She also says something when she gets upset, but we have no idea what!
-She is crawling EVERYWHERE and into EVERYTHING!
-She can pull up and is very close to letting go and not falling, but we are not there yet.
-She is eating baby food, some people food, puffs, baby crackers, and of course formula.
-She has quite the personality and is absolutely hysterical… and knows it!

Mommy and Daddy love you Emory Grace!
Trying to eat her outfit this morning.
Tooth number 8 is driving her crazy. Poor baby!
This one made me laugh. She is starting to close her eyes now just like her cousin Noah does when you "try" to take his picture.

Labor Day Weekend

We went to my parents for the labor day weekend for a little family get together and bar-b-que.
This is Noah "hiding" in a pillow case. I had just "found" him. He will be 7 this Saturday, which I can not believe!
Emory on the slip-n-slide. She liked playing with the water!
Waiting for the water to come.
I did not know we would be slip-n-sliding so I did not bring her swimsuit.
 Don't think she cared!
Too cute!
Emory also rode in the golf cart for the first time this weekend! She loved it! She just sat on my lap and took in all the sights, which included many trees and squirrels! Friday Emory and I are headed to Grapevine for Noah's birthday party, which he is super excited about! He told me that he was going to show Emory how to party!

Snack Time

Every evening when we get home Emory has a snack. She usually munches on or plays with puffs or yogurt melts, but last week I added biting biscuits. The biting biscuits are basically a thick animal cracker minus the animal! She loves them! She chews and chews until there is nothing left of the cracker or until she has had enough and the throws it on the floor! I love watching her eat, her little expressions crack me up! She also seems to really enjoy picking up the puffs and yogurt bites and seeing how many she can hold in her little hand. She is also getting better drinking from her sippy cup, however now thinks it is funny to spit out the water after she drinks from the cup! SHE IS A MESS!!
Emory chewing on a biting bisquit!
Love the eyes!
I think this is just after she spit out some water!
Chewing away while holding onto a yogurt melt with four puffs stuck to her top!

Emory Update

Emory is discovering and learning something new everyday, which is exciting, but also a little sad because she is just growing up so fast. She now has 5 teeth with two more on the way, which I hope break the skin soon, because they are driving her crazy. She has started to say dada, but I do not think she realizes what it means yet. She is curious about EVERYTHING and when she see' s something new she HAS to go and check it out. She has ventured to every room in the house and has found the stairs. She has learned to shut doors and will go into her room and then shut her door and wait for us to come "find" her. She thinks this is funny! She is also laughing alot these days, at the dogs, a tree, a noise on TV, herself. She is so funny. She also knows and remembers where her various toys are throughout the house. She has some toys in her bedroom, some in the living room, and some in our bedroom and when she wants to play with that particular toy she will head to wherever it is. She is pulling up on everything as well and is becoming quite the little stander.
Emory loves to open drawers. Sorry for no clothes, this was after dinner and before her bath!
Climbing on the stairs, she loves to climb!
Playing with her toys in her bedroom. She was telling me hi!
Standing almost by herself!

M'm M'm Good

This was Emory last night after dinner. As you can see she enjoyed her mixed veggies and squash! Emory loves to "blow bubbles" while she has food in her mouth, in fact she finds it quite amusing! Needless to say, food goes everywhere! She had it in her eyebrows, nose, and behind her ears the other night!

Trip to Grandma & PawPaw's

Friday Emory and I headed south to see my parents and do some "school" shopping. So Saturday morning Emory, Mom, and I headed to the mall, which was not nearly as crowed as I was anticipating, given it was tax free weekend. Emory was such a good little girl and made out with several new outfits, the cutest little ladybug Halloween costume, and of course a new toy from Grandma. I was a bit disappointed in the selection of fall/winter baby clothes in the stores. Everything was so grown up looking and I just do not want my baby girl to look grown up! I did find some cute winter outfits that were age appropriate so all and all it was a good shopping day.
This is a little rocking chair my Mom made for Emory! Isn't it cute!
Emory playing with her new toy! Thanks Grandma
Chewing on a ladybug toy that used to be Noah's.
Playing with her cousin Noah's toy guitar that he played with when he was little.
