Big Sister Cobb

The other day Emory declared that her name was no longer Emory Grace Cobb, but rather Big Sister Cobb. And yes you have to include Cobb with Big Sister. She continues to take her role as big sister very serious and for the most part is very sweet and loving toward her brother, although she refers to him as sister and her. I think that is because her friend Bay at Ms. Betty's has a baby sister. She still has a few moments of jealousy where she does not want to share us with her brother, but for the most part she is doing wonderful. She continues to want to hold him and actually let me take pictures yesterday.

She likes to hold his hand and is proud of the fact that her hands are bigger than his.

So sweet!

Patting his belly.

Right after she kissed him she told him she loved him, which was the sweetest thing and absolutely melted my heart!

I don't remember what this was all about, but I am sure it has something to do with her being silly!

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day just relaxing and hanging out with my three favorite people. This little sweet pea gave me a wonderful present by sleeping 5 hours straight last night.

That is the longest he has slept at one time and hopefully he will continue to do so. Emory started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks, which Cason will be tomorrow, so hopefully he will follow in his sister's footsteps.

Here he is just hanging out. Emory's new thing is to tell him how cute he is. She will hold his little hand and say cute baby or cute Cason in the softest little voice. It is the sweetest thing.

And this silly goose made me the most beautiful card and coffee mug at daycare. Ms. Betty is wonderful at coming up with creative mementos for the kids to make and give as gifts.

She hurt herself on Friday at daycare, hence the nasty bobo above her mouth.

And here is my new coffee mug! Emory is quite proud of it, especially the fact that her picture is on it!

And my beautiful card.

And from my hubby I got the Bible on CD which is something I have been wanting and a wonderful card. He also said something else was coming but won't tell me what it is.

He and Emory also went and picked up Chili's for lunch, which is where my new guilty pleasure resides. If you have not tried their new California Club sandwich you should. It is this HUGE sandwich stuffed with turkey, ham, bacon, avocados, Swiss cheese, and lettuce. It also comes with tomatoes and onions but I omit those! It is delicious and worth every calorie I should not have consumed.

What Will She Think Up Next?

Emory is at a very cute age and is constantly doing or saying something hilarious. Sunday she came into the living room with this ensemble. She had been in our closet and discovered one of Bradley's baseball and my shoes. She loves walking in heels and throwing balls. I think this picture sums it up....she is a little tomboy and a little princess all rolled up into one!

I found this bunny or aka baby toy when I went to check on Cason. It appears his big sister had beat me to it! She is always making sure he has a toy near by.

She also has an excellent memory. Saturday I was making a grocery list and Emory ran up saying "marshmallows, marshmallows Mommy." She reminded me that she was out of marshmallows for her powpow (marshmallow gun) and I needed to buy some at the store. Now she had not mentioned her powpow or marshmallows for over 2 months. She remembers everything! Before heading to the grocery store Emory and I went shopping. When we went into the dressing room to try on some clothes she got very concerned because the potty chair was missing. I think she had everyone in there laughing. Then tonight after dinner Bradley took her around our property to gather some leaves to show his forestry class. When he stopped the truck she told him to watch out for the big bad wolf. Then when he got back in the truck he asked her if the big bad wolf was going to get him and she said, "no he is in the forest." I guess they read or watched Little Red Riding Hood at Ms. Betty's. What will she think of next?

1 month old

Cason is 1 month old today and boy has the time flown by. I feel like he weighs around 10 lbs and is starting to wear size 3 months (they are still a tad big) along with his 0-3 months clothes. He can still wear his newborn clothes, but probably not for much longer as he is getting to long for them. His eyes are still a deep blue and his hair brown. He usually wakes up two to three times during the night unless his tummy is bothering him then when he does sleep he will only do so on my chest. He also started the only wanting to be held phase this week, which has made for a very unproductive week. He is still pretty laid back, although he has found his voice. He hates having a wet or dirty diaper even for a second and is real good at letting us know! He has started smiling, however I am not completely sure it isn't just gas. Regardless, he has the sweetest smile. We love you Cason Bradley!

April 28, 2011- 1 month old

Cason had his pictures taken this week to mark his 1 month milestone. He did really well and we were able to get several precious poses. I included a few below and one above.

I love these chubby cheeks,

and these little toes,

and nose and mouth,

and this little yawn!

Bunny Ears

Every year at Easter I take Emory's picture in a pair of bunny ears to document how much she has grown and changed over the past year. I plan to do the same thing with Cason who cooperated MUCH better than his big sister!

Easter 2011 4 weeks old

This is what I got when I asked her to say cheese!

Then her daddy started giving me bunny ears and making silly faces and her mood changed and the show began!

Happy Easter

This morning after Emory woke up a little she went to see what the Easter bunny had left her and Cason.

Emory got Dora big girl panties, a Dora puzzle, a new CD (aka music), a little doll, and a tiara with matching earrings, (aka princess). She also found Easter eggs filled with money and candy. Emory already likes getting money! Cason got a pair of shorts and two pairs of shoes

Here she is checking everything out!

Then it was time to get ready to go to church. We go to the early service which starts at 9:00 and is the more traditional service, so getting everyone up, fed, dressed, and in the car by 8:45 is no small feat. Plus this morning I was wanting to take a few pictures before we left.

This is all I got and yes Dot is in the picture. Emory was in a mood and not wanting to put Dot down. Her eyes have stubborn written all over them.

Today was Cason's first church service and he slept the entire time. Emory did really well in the nursery this morning and told us she had fun at church. After church we went over to Mimi and Peepaw's for a little while where I attempted to take more pictures.

Emory "holding" Cason. She has been asking to hold him a lot lately.

Cason's first Easter.

I tired to take Emory's picture by Mimi's roses but she was not having it.

She would rather play in the dirt. Notice how she hiked up her dress squatted down and went to digging.

Then we went home and Emory performed the Wheels on the Bus into her microphone.

Climbing into the baby swing. This is really the only acting out she is still doing with regards to having a brother. She tends to climb in and swing when she feels she does not have our full attention.

She then felt the need to wear her cowboy (aka hat) and ride her horsee around the house. Such a MESS!

She was giving me a big YEE HAW!

Cason Bradley

Cason turned 3 weeks old on Monday and will be a month old before I know it. I can't believe how fast he is growing and how quickly he is changing. He is a really strong boy and is already holding his head up really well. His eyes are still a dark deep smokey blue, but I still feel like they will turn brown or maybe hazel. He is such a sweet baby and still very laid back. We love you Cason Bradley!

He discovered his hands in this picture while having a little tummy time. I love those little hands.

I LOVE this picture. It just cracks me up!

I love yawning babies. I have tons of pictures of Emory yawning and finally was able to get one of Cason yawning. He does not seem to yawn as much as Emory did, probably because he actually sleeps at night!
