2 1/2 Year Check-Up

Emory turned 2 1/2 years old last Friday and had her 2 1/2 year check-up this morning. She weighs 24.8 lbs (10th percentile) and is 37.25 inches tall (85th percentile). She gained just 8 ounces in 6 months and statistically fell into the under weight column, but Dr. Huggins is not concerned because her growth chart continues to follow the "curve" and Emory has always been on the small side. She did notice Emory's tonsils were on the large side and gave me some things to be on the look out for. If they continue to grow and get to big she will have to have them removed. She scored great on her developmental milestones and got a clean bill of health! When her Daddy picked her up from Ms. Betty's this afternoon he asked her what the doctor said and she said, "That she was tall." She has a great memory because that is the first thing Dr. Huggins said when she walked in the room!

This was the best picture I could get this evening and it is of Emory snacking on some baked Ruffles!! She thought I was nuts trying to take a picture of her while she was eating.

She continues to be a MESS and is quite the comedian. She loves to shop or as she says "I wanna go to the store." She loves reading books, building towers, coloring, and playing outside. Her favorite cartoons right now are Go Diego Go, Dora the Explorer, Umizoomi, and Bubble Guppies. Her favorite movies for the moment are 101 Dalmatians and Peter Pan, but she is also a fan of Veggie Tails, Annie, and Beauty and the Best. She loves to sing and seems to learn a new song weekly. Her Daddy and I think she is hilarious and we love her more than she will ever know.

And this little guy thinks she is the BEST BIG SISTER!!

Our Weekend

Saturday morning started off pretty fantastic because a certain little boy slept through the night!! After breakfast we all headed to town to run some errands. All that running around made Emory and Cason hungry, so we headed to Taco Bueno. Emory LOVES there tacos and Cason needed to be fed ASAP! After lunch we headed home and both kids took a much needed nap. The rest of Saturday and today have just been spent playing and cleaning house.

Cason's first time in the exersaucer (7/17/11). He was an old pro in it. He can touch the floor and is able to turn himself around. He seemed to have fun turning circles and looking at all the different toys.

We had two trees fall in a brief but wild storm Thursday evening and Bradley had the tractor up at the house this weekend cleaning up the mess. I was able to get a few cute pictures of Emory in the tractor wheel. Emory loves riding and driving the tractor.

Those pesky teeth are still giving him fits and he was a little drool machine all weekend.

Cason spent some time working on the art of sitting.

Emory loving on Cason!

These last two pictures just make me laugh!

He is still not a fan of the flash!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!!

Day Of Rest

Today has been very relaxing. We were not too terribly rushed this morning getting ready for church and actually made it with time to spare. After church we have mainly played and spent time together with a few loads of laundry and some other chores sprinkled in.

My two precious babies!!

Emory loves to make Cason laugh by making silly faces. Here are a few from this afternoon.

Cason loves watching his big sister and she keeps him pretty entertained!!

He started fussing while I was changing Emory's clothes this afternoon and she went running into the living room shouting, "here I come Cason, it's ok I'm coming," too cute!

Here he is giving me a big smile.

Cason spend some time perfecting his roll this afternoon. Of course when I had the camera ready to snap this is as far as he would go.

Then Emory decided she needed to take a dip in her pool. Here she is telling me she is ready. Apparently she needed her sunglasses too!

This is the pose I got when I asked to take her picture.

We have had a great Sunday just relaxing and spending time with each other. Hope everyone had a great Sunday too!

I also want to wish my sweet niece Mckenzie a very HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY and my parents a very HAPPY 35th Wedding Anniversary!!!!

Silly Emory

Emory has been doing and saying some very funny things lately. Like the other day when she shouted, “let’s rock n roll” then “1, 2, 3, 4” and started jamming on her piano. I have no idea where she learned about rock n roll, but she seemed to know what she was doing. Then while we were in Shreveport she referred to all the hotel/casinos as castles. She was very impressed with the “castles.” On that same trip while riding in the car she said in her sweet East Texas twang “it sure is hot in here, it sure is hot in here mommy.” This was her way of asking me to turn up the a/c in the car. Tonight after dinner Emory put her daddy in jail. We are not sure why he had to go to jail or when she even learned the word jail, but she led him to jail and made him stay there for a while. She also plays the scare game which involves her tiptoeing over to whomever she wants to scare and then sneaking up behind them and yelling SCARE!!!! Ta-da is her new thing, after she does something she goes TA-DA!! She also loves the silly game, which consists of Emory saying, “silly daddy” then Bradley says, “silly Emory” and so on and so on. This is a game we play in the car. By the time it is over she has gone through everyone she knows. Another cute thing she does is call out for Dot when she can’t find her. She goes through the house yelling “Dot, where are you?” Here she is playing in her old exersaucer in Cason's room. Such a mess!

Happy 4th of July

So far we have had a very relaxing 4th of July. This morning we went to town and hit a few 4th of July sales and then came home and have just been hanging out.

I tried and tried to get a good picture of Emory and Cason, but between Cason constantly chewing on his hands and Emory being in a "mood" this was the best I could get. The look on her face says it all! ha!

I did get a sweet one of Emory giving Cason kisses.

We had pizza for lunch. Here is Emory patiently waiting on her pizza....

and Cason chewing on his hands wishing he was eating pizza too!

Now they are both napping and I am headed off to get some chores done. Later tonight we are going to watch the fireworks in town. Emory is super excited, I just hope she can stay awake long enough to see them. I am sure it is going to be extremely crowded because fireworks have been banned due to the super try conditions and are not even being sold this year. Hopefully we can find a good spot to park the truck and watch the firework's show.

Happy Independence Day!!!

Pictures and Drool

This morning after Emory woke up she asked to hold Cason and then wanted me to take her picture. So here she is relaxing on a stack of pillows holding her brother. She is really starting to want to pose for pictures, especially with Cason.

Speaking of Cason I am more convinced that he is starting to teeth. This weekend he has done nothing but drool, chew on his hands, spit-up, and fuss.

This is his 5th bib and 2nd outfit today and it is just 1:45pm. Yesterday we went through 4 or 5 outfits and too many bibs to count!

She's Back

My parents brought Emory home yesterday afternoon. She had a fun time at Grandma and Pawpaw's house this week. She swam, shopped, played at the park, went to her first movie, and learned what Chuck E. Cheese was all about. Needless to say to had a blast! One afternoon they went and saw Cars 2 and Emory loved it. I was a bit nervous that she would lose interest and start talking, but she did great. Mom said she only got fidgety once when she ran out of popcorn and wanted more, but after a refill she went right back to munching and watching. Have I mentioned Emory LOVES popcorn? She probably really loved the "real" stuff at the theater because I just buy the plain 100 calorie kind.

I swear her hair grew an inch while she was gone. This morning I told her I thought her hair was longer and she wanted me to take a picture of her hair.

Grandma and Emory did some shopping this week and found a shoe sale. Emory is 2 1/2 and already LOVES shoes. So she came home with 2 pairs of flip-flops and a pair of sandals. She is very proud of her new shoes. She then spotted this purse, which she apparently had to have. She has been carrying it around all morning.

She also took up the game of golf this week and came home with her very own golf bag. It is purple of course! Emory's favorite color right now is purple, she wants everything in purple.

She told my mom one day this week that her daddy was going to build her a park (aka swing set) with a slide and ladder. He was going to build it out of sticks and paint it purple. ha! I don't know where she comes up with this stuff, but I love it! I am glad she had a great time on her first solo trip to Grandma and Pawpaw's house, but we are so glad to have her home. We missed her bunches and it was just too quiet with her gone!!
