Fair Week 2011

This week has been fair week in town, which means my Ag teacher husband pretty much has to live at the fair all week. Thursday we met Mimi, Paw Paw, Rachel, Andrew, and  Mckenzie at the fair. The girls had a blast riding the rides together, however I forgot my camera so I was unable to get any pictures of them. I took the kids again Friday night with camera in tow. Bradley was able to take a break and hang out with us for a little while.

Side Note: I took Emory yesterday afternoon to get a new pair of boots because her boots are getting to small and left marks on her feet Thursday night when she wore them. She picked out this pink pair and is absolutely in love with them. She insisted on wearing them home from the store yesterday and then took her nap with them on.  Here she is in her new boots checking out the rabbits.

Cason's first fair. He is a people watcher (just like his sister) and had a blast watching everybody and everything!

Emory riding the big truck ride!

The merry-go-round is still her favorite ride.

Cason had a good time at the fair!

Have I mentioned Emory loves corn? Well she does and her new thing is "big corn," meaning corn on the cob. She LOVED the roasted corn at the fair and had three ears Friday night.

We had a fun time this year at the fair. Emory enjoyed the rides and seeing all the animals. I think her favorite were the pigs and cows. She is already asking for a pig!

Pumpkin Patch 2011

Today Bradley and I took the kids to the pumpkin patch. I hoped to get at least one good picture of the two of them, unfortunately that did not happen. Emory has no time for pictures these days and Cason was too distracted by all the activity at the pumpkin patch.

I love Emory's expression in this one. Cason on the other hand was all about the pumpkin.

Cason's first trip to the pumpkin patch!

The little pumpkin in her hand is the one she picked out. She wanted a baby pumpkin this year. Right now Emory and the baby pumpkin are both taking a nap. Yes she is sleeping with the pumpkin and yes the pumpkin took a bath before they went to sleep.

Cason Bradley- 6 months old

Emory Grace- 2 1/2 years old

I had to include this picture drool and all, because they look so much alike to me in it. Cason's cheeks are a little chubbier, but they have the same eyes, nose, and mouth.

Evening Fun

This evening Bradley had to work late so it was just me and the kiddos. While I was cleaning Cason up from his sweet potato dinner I noticed that Emory was being very quiet in her bedroom. Usually this is a sign that she is up to no good so Cason and I headed in there to check it out. This is what we found.
Apparently Yeller (the pink stick horse) and her puppy dogs were taking a nap and Emory was being quiet because they were sleeping. After Yeller and the puppy dogs woke up Emory decided they all needed to jump on the bed. She loves jumping on the bed and jumping off the bed. I think it is time we invest in a trampoline. Cason had a good time watching all the jumping.

I love this picture of Emory giving Cason a hug. His expression is priceless. He loves his sister so much.

Here is Emory not cooperating with getting her picture taking. And yes she is not wearing pants and I have no idea why.

All that jumping finally wore her out!

I Don't Wanna

In the past few days Emory has said " I don't wanna ...." approximately 1,327 times with 153 of those occurring last night. The I don't wanna's started last night because we put an old towel in her car seat before heading to a friend and fellow ag teacher of Bradley's house. Bradley needed to pick up something for the fair next week and we all tagged along. The towel was a precautionary measure we took due to Ms. Emory not having gone potty since being picked up from Ms. Betty's 2 hours earlier, plus Shane lives out in the country (even further than us) with no bathrooms in sight. Well guess who did not wanna sit on the towel? A little blond hair blue eyed someone is who. It got so ridiculous I could not help but laugh quietly to myself. The I don't wanna sit on the towel turned into I don't won't to do anything Mommy or Daddy said. At one point two deer were on the side of the road eating and Bradley pointed them out to Emory who cried " I don't wanna see deer" for the next five minutes. On a positive note Emory did not have a bathroom accident on our mini road trip. I of course do not have a picture for this post because Emory did not wanna take a one.

6 Month Check-up

Cason had his 6 month check-up today and weighed 18 lbs 5 ounces (65th percentile) and is 26 3/4 inches long (50th percentile). He was on target or above average with his milestones. Dr. Huggins even gave us the all clear to start puff snacks because of how well he is sitting. Cason is going to love puffs because they involve his two favorite activities, picking things up and putting them in his mouth! We also learned that he has his first ear infection, which was a huge surprise because he has not been fussy, running a fever, or grabbing at his ear. He does have a little cold so between that, 4 shots, and the ear infection he has not felt that great this evening. Dr. Huggins also confirmed that his top gums are very swollen and she thinks his top teeth will be in very very soon! Other than a little ear infection and a cold, Cason is a healthy happy baby boy!

He loves playing with this toy! He will be pushing it around before I know it.

I had to include this picture of Emory because she weighed 18 lbs 6 ounces at one year and had her first ear infection a few weeks after turning 1. This picture was taken after we got home from the doctor. Thankfully her first ear infection as been her only ear infection. Hopefully Cason will follow in her footsteps minus her allergy to penicillin.

Rub-A-Dub-Dub

Cason took his first big boy bath on Thursday night and tonight Emory wanted to join him in the bathtub. I of course had to get out the camera and take a few pictures of their first bath together. Cason is still a little wobbly in the water but had a blast taking a bath with his sister. As you can see from the pictures he loves watching his big sister and putting things in his mouth!!!

She's Back

It is impossible to get a good picture of Emory these days.
She is either on the go or refusing to look at the camera.
She's back! Emory spent last week at her Aunt Rachel's and Uncle Andrew's house. I had a conference in Galveston so we decided it was the perfect time for Emory to go and visit Mckenzie. The girls had a blast playing together and  Emory had a great time. We sure did miss her though, especially Cason. He was very glad to see his big sister yesterday and they have had fun playing together today. Thank you Rachel and Andrew for taking care of my baby big girl!
