Over the past few weeks, Emory has really started to want to do things by herself, but Saturday she wanted to do EVERYTHING by HERSELF. I got out the broom to sweep the kitchen floor and Emory about had a fit "waiting" for me to finish so she could sweep. And sweep she did. She pushed and pulled that broom around for nearly 30 minutes. I am planning on getting her a pint size broom set for Easter and putting this gal to work!
Then after sweeping it was time to get cleaned up and dressed. But of course she had to do this by herself as well.
She took her brush from me and brushed her hair. Then when I got her clothes out of the closet, she HAD to have those as well.
And once she got a hold of her pants, she immediately sat down and attempted to put them on.... except her pj's were still on!
After 5 minutes or so of trying she got frustrated and brought me her pants. I then explained to her that we had to take off her pj's before getting dressed and she immediately threw up her arms so I could take off her pj top. I am still amazed of how much she understands! So off went the pj's and on the clothes. Then I told her to go get her jacket so we could go bye bye.
This is how she came out of her bedroom. She had "put"on her jacket and came out saying bye bye. Then we were off to Lowes! Now my child loves to ride in things, including shopping carts! So as soon as she sees one she immediately starts her get get get! The only problem with her enthusiasm for riding in shopping carts is she does not want to get out of them. So, Emory threw quite the fit when I took her out of the shopping cart. Bradley and I just watched her as she carried on nearly the whole way home, and we live about 15 miles out of town. She was upset, angry, and sad all wrapped into one and the only way she knew how to express herself was to cry and scream get get get, which is what she did! So after 10 minutes or so of me telling her that we can not take the shopping cart home and she can ride in it the next time we go shopping she finally wore herself out and stopped. Then after a much needed nap, Emory and I went for a ride on the Gator, which she loves! And that was our Saturday!
