Mini Vacation Day 3

This morning Cameron and Noah came and picked us up and we headed to Grapevine, while Bradley endured a day of meetings. There is a new aquarium at the Grapevine Mills Mall called Sea Life that we went to.

Noah waiting in line. A certain little 2 year old would NOT let me take her picture by the pretty fish. The pictures of the real fish were not the greatest because I could not use the flash.

This is a funny looking puffy fish and it was one of Emory's favorites.

Here she is watching the puffy fish above.

I thought these yellow stripe fish were pretty.

Emory liked the fact that there was a treasure chest in the fish tank. She thought it was funny!

Noah being Noah!

The two pictures above are of a huge tank that was all around us...above, below, and on both sides. Emory really liked walking over the fish.

She spent some time checking out these seashells.

I was impressed with this little aquarium, especially for being in a mall. There was a leak in one of the tanks while we were there so we did not get to see the last few tanks, but by that time Emory was hungry and ready to eat. So we headed to............

This was Emory's first time to eat there and I am not sure what she thought about it. At first she was so hungry she did not seem to mind all the animals roaring and growling, but after she ate she got a little nervous and wanted to sit on my lap. I think her being tired had a little to do with it.

Here she is sitting with Cha Cha! She picked herself out a Cha Cha cup to take home as a souvenir. I could not get her to smile.

Before we left the mall Noah, Emory and I rode this little train that went down one end of the mall and then back. Emory loved riding the train.

She was saying "all aboard."

After the train ride we headed over to Cameron's to change into our swimsuits and then went to theie neighborhood pool or pools. There was a big pool and a toddler pool. The toddler pool was just 2 feet deep and had "waterfalls." Emory had a blast!

Cason "swam" for just a little while and then fell asleep and slept the whole time we were there. There was a big covered awning so he was protected if the sun would have been out, but it was overcast the whole time we were there.

We had a fun filled day with Cameron and Noah and both kiddos are worn out!

Mini Vacation Day 2

This morning we got up and dressed and headed to IHOP for breakfast. After breakfast we did a little shopping and then headed over to the Arlington Convention Center which is where Bradley's conference is being held. After Bradley registered we checked out the vendor booths and then headed back to the hotel to cool off and rest. This is the view out of our hotel room window. Emory is quite impressed with the carnival (aka Six Flags Over Texas) across the street. She has spent several minutes in front of the window watching the "merry-go-rounds," airplanes, cars, and birds.

Emory loving on her brother!

Cason had the hiccups.

Emory and I had a tickle war which gave her the giggles and then hiccups! They were both hiccuping at the same time.

After some down time we got ready and headed to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner. Here is Cason in outfit number two today! He is still a little drool machine, I hope those teeth come in soon!

Emory had a blast at Chuck E. Cheese. She played games, rode rides, and played on the jungle gyms. I tried and tried to get a picture with my phone, but she would not sit still. All I got where blobs of a speeding Emory running around. Between the three of us we managed to get 127 tickets and Emory picked out several little toys. I think Cason was on stimulation overdrive with the nose, lights, and kids running around. He really seemed to enjoy watching everything and I think had as good a time at Chuck E Cheese that a nearly 4 month old could have! ha!

Mini Vacation Day 1

This morning we left for our mini vacation in Arlington. I was a bit nervous because Cason has never been in a car for so long, but he did great and slept most of the way. Emory on the other hand was very excited about our vacation and slept maybe 45 minutes. Before heading to our hotel, we went and visited Tessa and Olivia. The girls have not seen each other since Olivia's first birthday party. They were a little shy at first but then they started playing and warmed up to each other quickly. They really played well together and seemed to have a good time.

We succeeded in getting them to sit still, but I could not get one with them both looking at me. Hopefully Tessa got one I can borrow!

Then they got the giggles!

Olivia and Emory 2 1/2 years old.

Having a snack with the baby doll. Notice they all three have cups.

Olivia wanted to hold Cason. She was so sweet with him.

We had a great short visit, thanks for having us Tessa and Jason. Hopefully we can see each other again real soon! After our visit we headed to our hotel. Emory is very impressed with the elevator. It is the kind that is a big window and Emory likes looking out at the lobby while going up and down. After dinner we took the kids swimming. Cason seemed to enjoy the water and Emory had a blast. We did not get to stay long because the indoor heated pool was freezing. Emory got so cold her lips turned purple and we had to get her out and warmed up. Well that about sums up day 1 of our mini vacation.

Emory's Stuff

Bradley has a conference next week in Arlington and Emory, Cason and I are going to tag along and have a little mini vacation. So this morning I asked Emory if she wanted to pack some of her movies, books, and toys since we are leaving tomorrow. I got down her Minnie Mouse bag and let her get to work while I changed Cason's diaper and got him dressed. I could tell she was taking her packing very seriously because she was talking to herself. This is what I found when I walked into the kitchen. I am guessing she left her bag in there because I had already packed a bag of snacks which was on the counter above.

I guess the Minnie bag was not big enough because she found a gift bag I had got yesterday and used it too! She kept telling me that she sure does have a lot of stuff.

When I got out the camera to take a picture she wanted to take one with all her stuff.

I went through it all later and here is what she had packed: 8 movies, 6 books, every stuff dog she owns, her baby doll, a few of her baby doll's toys, 2 teddy bears, a ball, her container of little cars, her Aquadoodle, and of course Dot Dot and Dot's sister. For those that do not know Dot's sister was our attempt at replacing Dot a year or so ago. Even though she looks similar it did not work! Dot is still her main squeeze!

2 1/2 Year Check-Up

Emory turned 2 1/2 years old last Friday and had her 2 1/2 year check-up this morning. She weighs 24.8 lbs (10th percentile) and is 37.25 inches tall (85th percentile). She gained just 8 ounces in 6 months and statistically fell into the under weight column, but Dr. Huggins is not concerned because her growth chart continues to follow the "curve" and Emory has always been on the small side. She did notice Emory's tonsils were on the large side and gave me some things to be on the look out for. If they continue to grow and get to big she will have to have them removed. She scored great on her developmental milestones and got a clean bill of health! When her Daddy picked her up from Ms. Betty's this afternoon he asked her what the doctor said and she said, "That she was tall." She has a great memory because that is the first thing Dr. Huggins said when she walked in the room!

This was the best picture I could get this evening and it is of Emory snacking on some baked Ruffles!! She thought I was nuts trying to take a picture of her while she was eating.

She continues to be a MESS and is quite the comedian. She loves to shop or as she says "I wanna go to the store." She loves reading books, building towers, coloring, and playing outside. Her favorite cartoons right now are Go Diego Go, Dora the Explorer, Umizoomi, and Bubble Guppies. Her favorite movies for the moment are 101 Dalmatians and Peter Pan, but she is also a fan of Veggie Tails, Annie, and Beauty and the Best. She loves to sing and seems to learn a new song weekly. Her Daddy and I think she is hilarious and we love her more than she will ever know.

And this little guy thinks she is the BEST BIG SISTER!!

Our Weekend

Saturday morning started off pretty fantastic because a certain little boy slept through the night!! After breakfast we all headed to town to run some errands. All that running around made Emory and Cason hungry, so we headed to Taco Bueno. Emory LOVES there tacos and Cason needed to be fed ASAP! After lunch we headed home and both kids took a much needed nap. The rest of Saturday and today have just been spent playing and cleaning house.

Cason's first time in the exersaucer (7/17/11). He was an old pro in it. He can touch the floor and is able to turn himself around. He seemed to have fun turning circles and looking at all the different toys.

We had two trees fall in a brief but wild storm Thursday evening and Bradley had the tractor up at the house this weekend cleaning up the mess. I was able to get a few cute pictures of Emory in the tractor wheel. Emory loves riding and driving the tractor.

Those pesky teeth are still giving him fits and he was a little drool machine all weekend.

Cason spent some time working on the art of sitting.

Emory loving on Cason!

These last two pictures just make me laugh!

He is still not a fan of the flash!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!!

Day Of Rest

Today has been very relaxing. We were not too terribly rushed this morning getting ready for church and actually made it with time to spare. After church we have mainly played and spent time together with a few loads of laundry and some other chores sprinkled in.

My two precious babies!!

Emory loves to make Cason laugh by making silly faces. Here are a few from this afternoon.

Cason loves watching his big sister and she keeps him pretty entertained!!

He started fussing while I was changing Emory's clothes this afternoon and she went running into the living room shouting, "here I come Cason, it's ok I'm coming," too cute!

Here he is giving me a big smile.

Cason spend some time perfecting his roll this afternoon. Of course when I had the camera ready to snap this is as far as he would go.

Then Emory decided she needed to take a dip in her pool. Here she is telling me she is ready. Apparently she needed her sunglasses too!

This is the pose I got when I asked to take her picture.

We have had a great Sunday just relaxing and spending time with each other. Hope everyone had a great Sunday too!

I also want to wish my sweet niece Mckenzie a very HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY and my parents a very HAPPY 35th Wedding Anniversary!!!!
