Because He Lives

We sang one of my favorite hymns this morning in church, "Because He Lives," and I have been humming the chorus all afternoon.
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

After church we went to Mimi and PeePaw's house to say hello and Happy Easter! I attempted to get a few pictures of Emory and Cason. Easier said then done!
Cason Bradley - Easter 2012
Emory Grace - Easter 2012

Once we got home Cason took a much needed nap and Emory chased butterfly's with her new butterfly net.
After many many attempts and no butterfly she decided it was time to hunt Easter eggs. She did an excellent job finding the eggs.
Yes she is wearing rain boots and yes they are on the wrong feet!!
Emory had a great time hunting Easter eggs!

HAPPY EASTER!!

Easter Morning

This morning after the kids woke up they went and checked their Easter baskets. Cason immediately found his chocolate bunnies and scooped them up!
He really liked the bunnies. Here he is shown me his new "prize."
Emory checking out all her goodies. She got a tube of different flavored chap sticks, candy, a book, a butterfly net, a sand pail, and a "surfboard." She told us a week or so ago that she wanted a surfboard to take to the beach when we go this summer.
Here she is surfing.
She is such a mess!
Cason got his first set of markers, sidewalk chalk, teddy grams, and candy.
After we played for a bit it was time to get ready for church.

Morning Memories

This morning after breakfast Emory and Cason were playing in Emory's room. While cleaning up the kitchen I heard Emory say that her baby had poo pooed and that she had to clean it up. I guess I should have immediately gone in there but did not think much of it until I heard her say, "Momma there is poo poo all over my bed." When I went to investigate I found Emory cleaning her baby's bottom with Cason's baby wipes. She was on her 8th wipe by that time. Needless to say her baby's bottom and her bed were well cleaned. I found Cason having a blast sitting in the baby doll bed too!
After we dressed her baby Emory decided it was time for her to take a nap. She informed me that her baby needed to nap in the living room so Cason would not disturb her. So into the living room she went. I later found her reading a book to her baby.
While Cason and the baby napped Emory and I dyed Easter eggs. We had the kind you can decorate by writing on them with the "magic" crayon.
Emory had a good time dying the Easter eggs.
A few of our masterpieces!!
After Cason's nap he rode his truck. He is pretty good at pushing himself around on it now.
I got tickled because he got off and then got right back on backwards.
I guess he wanted a different view!
He then got in trouble for trying to use his truck as a stool. By the time I got to him he was standing on the seat. Yikes!
We had a fun morning playing and decorating Easter eggs!

One Year Comparison's

I thought it would be fun to compare Emory and Cason's first birthday "smash" cake pictures. It is a little hard to compare them because Cason weighs 4 pounds more then Emory did at one, plus I did not have a picture of Cason smiling.
They have always favored each other to me because they have the same eyes, nose, and mouth, but to me they are starting to look more and more alike.

Barnyard Birthday Bash

Today we celebrated Cason's first birthday with a barnyard birthday party!
The party was low key with just family. We served barbecue for lunch with all the fixin's and then just visited and watched the kids play.
The birthday boy!
Cason's birthday cake.
Thank you Aunt Rachel for making such a cute and yummy cake!
It was perfect!
I found this tractor candle and had to buy it for his cake. Yes, I know a one year old cannot blow out a candle but that is what big sisters are for!
My sweet boy. He had such a good time today.
Cason enjoying his barbecue lunch!
I did not get Cason a smash cake because his birthday cake also had cupcakes, so I gave him a cupcake to "smash." He was not too sure about it at first. Then he thought it was a ball and tried to throw it. Once he got a taste of the icing he realized it was food and ate a little. I think he was to full from lunch to really enjoy it, but he had a great time playing with it!
All the kids helped Cason open his presents because he was too enthralled with the tissue paper to open them! Who knew tissue paper could be so entertaining!
Cason checking out his new farmer book.
Mckenzie having fun with a ribbon.
Emory playing with the balloons. She was everywhere today. She had such a good time playing with Noah and Mckenzie that this was the only picture I got where she was somewhat looking at me.
Aunt Cameron and her new baby Tucker who does not know he is a dog!
We tried to take pictures this afternoon but Emory and Cason were both tired and in need of a nap. This was the only one that turned out somewhat decent.

Cason had a great time at his party. I could tell he really enjoyed himself because he was all smiles all day. I want to thank everyone for coming and sharing Cason's birthday with us.

1 Year Check Up

Cason had his one year check up this morning. He weighs 22.11 pounds (60th percentile) and is 29.5 inches long (40th percentile). I really thought he was going to weigh closer to 25 pounds given the amount of food he has been consuming, but he is very active and I guess burns it off! He passed his developmental milestones with flying colors and even showed off his walking skills to Dr. Huggins who cheered him on! He did not do so well on the hearing screen. His left ear passed but his right ear failed. I was a little worried at first but thankfully it is just fluid and a double ear infection, which was a huge surprise because he has not shown any signs or ran fever. After a not so fun and very thorough ear examination, Dr. Huggins feels the fluid affected the hearing screening instrument and his hearing is fine. He is now officially beating his sister in the ear infection department: Cason: 2; Emory: 1. Dr. Huggins also said that Cason's is starting to cut his molars which I did suspect. He was a very good boy at the doctors office today and only cried for a second when he got his three shots. Poor Baby!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CASON

Cason Bradley you are 1 today!
 Happy Birthday Buddy!
You are wearing size 12 month and 12-18 month clothes. You wear a size 3 shoe and a size 4 diaper. You can say mama, dada, hi, baba, bye bye, and thank you. You are drinking milk and eating everything. You are a very good eater and love food!
You were not in a very good mood this evening and got very upset when I put you in your crib to take your 1 year pictures with your sheep. I think you thought I was putting you down for the night and you did NOT want to go to sleep. You also have your 9th tooth coming in which may have contributed to your mood.
You are walking everywhere and into everything! I sat you down to take your picture but you were up and on the move before I could even snap the camera! You love to throw things and often throw things into the strangest places. We have found toys in the toilet and just tonight found the telephone in the bathtub! You also like to put things up to your ear and pretend to talk on the phone.
You love looking out the french doors and watching the dogs. You also love to take baths and drink the bath water. You think that is hilarious.
You are the sweetest little boy and love to give hugs. Here you are coming to give me a hug while I am trying to take your picture. You also have developed quite the temper when you do not get your way. It is hard not to laugh at you because you throw your self on the floor and pitch a big fit for such a little boy.

Cason I can't believe you are already a year old. It seems like just yesterday we were meeting you for the first time. Daddy, Emory and I love you very much!
