Olivia's 1st Birthday Party

Last weekend Emory and I headed north to Ft. Worth for Olivia's first birthday party. Tessa did a wonderful job with the party and it was great to visit with everyone and meet little Turner and Hudson for the first time! All the kiddos played really well together and Olivia had a wonderful first birthday party. Thank you Olivia for inviting us!
Olivia LOVED her birthday cupcake cake... especially the icing which she was covered in.
Olivia "cleaning up" after enjoying her cake. The wash rag did not do the trick and she ended up in the tub!
Yum yum!
Baby Turner fast asleep! He is so precious. I love how his little arms were crossed.
I thought this picture was funny. Emory is on one side of the door and Hudson on the other! Both were on the move!
Maggie showing Hudson how to ride Olivia's new rocking poodle! TOO CUTE!

Olivia was blowing kisses to everyone after getting cleaned up. So sweet!
Emory, Hudson, and Maggie checking out the dogs party hats!

Hudson and Emory looking outside at the tree I guess!

Our attempt at a group picture, which would have been really good if Emory would have been looking. Back to front: Maggie (2) Emory (1), Olivia (1) Turner (5 weeks) and Hudson (1). For those of you that do not know Hudson is the oldest (1/14/09), than Emory (1/15/09) and Olivia (1/20/09).... all within 6 days of each other!

Emory realizing she had apple juice and not water in her cup!

Olivia waiting patiently to open her presents. Her little dress was adorable with cupcakes smocking on the front.

Emory's First Week Being 1

On Monday Emory had her one year check-up and it made me a little sad when they weighed her on the "big kids" scale for the first time and not the "baby" scale. It was another reminder that she is 1 now and growing up. She weighed 18 pounds 6 ounces and was 29 inches long, so even though she is 1 she is still pint sized. She was in the 13th percentile in weight and 50th in height and as her doctor says, she is just petite. I really thought she was going to weigh closer to 20 pounds given the amount of food she has been consuming lately but I was wrong! She got a clean bill of health from her doctor and that is all I care about. She had to get 4 shots however which made her feel puny the rest of the day and caused her to run a slight fever. Then she woke up early Tuesday morning with a 102.2 fever and ran fever all day. She is also cutting a tooth right now(# 9) and is congested so between the shots, tooth, and nose she was not feeling well at all the beginning of the week.

Emory was helping me clean up by putting her Lego's back in the bag and decided to put her sippy cup in there as well.

She put the whole phone to her ear and said hello! She cracks me up!

Going for a ride on rocket ship! She loves this thing and goes everywhere on it!

Ready to go exploring in her wagon. I pulled her all over the place in this thing on Sunday! She loved it!

Getting reading to climb her little slide she got for her birthday!

I think someone is going to have curly hair like their mommy!

"Helping" take down her party decorations! I love this face!

Snuggling with Dot "aka blankie bear" while riding Patches the cow!

Emory's Cocoa & Cupcakes Party

Last Saturday we had a little birthday party for Emory and she had a blast! It was real simple and low key with just our family there. The theme was cocoa and cupcakes and everyone seemed to have a good time, especially Emory!
This was her little cake.
She was not too sure about it at first...
but once she tasted it.....
she was all smiles!
She was absolutely hysterical eating her cake. She clapped and giggled the whole time and definitely takes after her daddy when it comes to sweets!
Noah took home this green balloon and I made him pose for a picture!
Emory's birthday balloon bouquet for her high chair!
Another angle. We had several other balloon bouquets, I went a bit over board with the balloons!
The cupcake tree. I made these therefore they were not perfect, but they were all gone after the party!
Yummy cocoa
Emory loved the balloons! She carried them around all over the house!
Opening a gift. Wow it's a dog, she loves dogs!
Giving her new dog loves! So sweet!
Bringing me the wrapping paper while I am trying to take a picture of her. Anytime she finds something on the floor she has to bring it to me or Bradley. She gave me the small piece and kept the big piece for herself!
Noah and Emory posing with her new "all terrain" wagon. We had to get the big wheels so we can pull her around the farm! Emory is of course holding a balloon!
Wow, mommy look at my new big girl shoes! This gal loves shoes just like her mommy!
Sitting in her Elmo chair opening presents.
Her birthday hat! I am still trying to get a picture with her wearing it! ha!
Emory's cards!
I just want to thank everyone for coming and sharing Emory's first birthday with us. Thank you so much for all the lovely gifts and for the love, prayers, and support this first year!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMORY

This time last year the decision had been made to proceed with a C-section and Bradley and I were anxious, nervous, and excited to meet our little girl, who was born at 2:50pm. I still can't believe a year has come and gone and Emory is 1! I am looking forward to her little party tomorrow and to see how much she grows and learns in the months to come. Happy Birthday Pumpkin!
She was not in the greatest of moods last night. This face cracks me up!
She threw her baby out of its stroller and tried to climb in. She loves to ride!
Please excuse her mix matched outfit, she had a little accident at daycare and has the top of one outfit on and the bottoms of another!

Brrr It's Cold

This weekend was the coldest in East Texas in 16 years. We had temperature's in the teens for several days in a row! Emory did not seem to mind the cold, as long as she had Dot (aka blankie bear) and her warm soft blanket. She loves this throw I got at JC Penny's, so much so I went back and bought another one to put back. She goes and gets it and lays down and wraps up in it.

Here is she is all bundled up watching TV!

Emory had her first cupcake this weekend. I figured we needed to have a "rehearsal" for next weekend! We are having cupcakes at her little party.

So I gave her one of these little Twinkie cup cakes for dessert Friday night.

Her first bite! I love this face.
Needless to say she LOVED it and ate it all gone! Rather quickly I might add! I guess she is going to take after her daddy when it comes to sweets!

Happy New Year

I know I am posting this a little late, but I have been sick with a nasty sinus infection and bronchitis since before the New Year and am just now starting to feel better. We celebrated the New Year quite early at our house... around 6:00 pm or so with sparklers and a few fire crackers. Emory seemed to like the sparklers, however she was more interested in riding her tricycle. We also did a few fire works (that were not suppose to be loud...but were) and Emory was not a fan of those. She did seem to like the Roman Candles until she got tired and was ready for her bath and bed. I was not far behind her because I did not feel well and needless to say did not make it anywhere close to midnight. That makes two years in a row for me. Last year I was big and pregnant and tired and this year I was sick. Oh well maybe next year!

Over Night

I have always heard people say that kids change and/or grow over night, but I always just thought it was a figure of speech. Since becoming a mother I have started to realize that there is more to the saying then just being a figure of speech. I swear Emory learns something new over night! She has changed so much over the past two weeks! She is walking or running everywhere and understands so much of what we say that we have had to start spelling things! She loves taking a bath and tries to climb in as soon as I start the water. She also seems to be adding a new word a week. She has added cow, I got it, and gee (this started yesterday and we are not sure what it means just yet). She is such a happy little thing with quite the personality. She also has a bit of a temper when she does not get her way, but her temper tantrums are short. Once she realizes that you are not giving in she's done and on to something else. She is so much fun and her daddy and I love her dearly! Before we know it she is going to be talking non-stop or as her daddy says, just like her mommy!
